  • "We had a lovely stay at the property(thanks very much for the welcome pack) , it's was a great house for the 6 of us, there was plenty of plates and cutlery, it was nice and warm, beds were comfy, all really very good."

There's certain things that I would address if I lived there is when it rains the front door path becomes very slippy and dangerous when wet because of the moss. The upstairs bathroom door & the back bedroom door blind isn't adequate for stopping people seeing you in the room(they can see you, you can't see them). The drying room was a bonus to have. A reading light in the living room would be good to. It's an excellent property for two families holidaying together, we had a lovely time there.

  • "Some practical details for owner to consider."

The downstairs room has an ineffective blind on the door which meant light disturbed those sleeping in that room, but also you could see into the room when there was a light on thus impacting on privacy. Abetter blind or solid door would be good. We had a wet week and used the garden room as a "drying room" but there was no means of venting the room - either opening windows or an extractor fan would be good. Happy for following to be published: Lovely cottage, very comfortable, well equipped, great location though we had expected to be closer to the sea from the description. The bakery & pizza house along the road were brilliant. Nearest shop is Reraig so a drive needed even for basics like milk. We hope to return!

  • "Had a lovely time at Tigh Fasgaidh."

A great cottage in a fab location for lots of adventures in all directions. Trips to Skye, Inverewe Gradens, Applecross and Eileen Donan castle. Amazing bakery a short walk away. Very cosy cottage generally well equipped although only 6 plates and 6 bowls etc which meant we ran out constantly, so more of those would be a useful addition. The side entrance with coat hanging and boot room was very welcome, in fact would have struggled without it as such a wet week! Warm and cosy with nice touches like a bunch of flowers and loaf of bread when we arrived, although no wood for the fire so had to go a few miles looking for a shop that sold logs. A deep clean of skirtings and cobwebs etc needed but overall a great cottage, clean and comfy with everything you need for a family break. Thanks for letting us stay!

So glad you had a good holiday. We realised we needed a 'wet things' room with our own family. Thanks for drawing our attention to the crockery. It can be hard to estimate how often people will be eating in the cottage versus going out for meals but we can certainly supply more if its a problem. Thanks also for drawing our attention to the cleaning issue. We're sorry that we fell short of our usual high standards this time and will review our cleaning schedules. We're sure you'll appreciate that there ia a lot of extra cleaning to do with anti covid measures but we'll Property Owner

It was very clean and well- equipped and the large side table was ideal for jigsaws! A very good base for exploring Skye and the local coast.

Thanks for your feedback. We're pleased you had a good time. Hope you didn't have to do jigsaws because of rain! Property Owner

  • "Tigh Fasgaidh was as lovely, comfortable, roomy and full of character as the pictures suggested."

The kitchen was well equipped and pleasant to use. The secluded garden with morning and evening sun for breakfast and BBQ (with midges but we persevered!) was a nice surprise especially as the owners had provided new garden furniture in response to someone else's comment! A beautiful spot, very peaceful with views of hills around, dark skies and stars out of the top velux window, and a short walk from the shore, Manuela's bakery and PizzaJo's, with mouthwatering pastries, bread and pizzas, and of course Dornie with the Clachan Inn and village store. Just a shame there was no need to use the lovely wood burner as the weather was so warm! We had a wonderful week, with sunshine and no rain! If anything we found the cottage almost too warm at night, with lovely thick feather duvets, but they would be perfect for most Scottish weather! The only minor issue we had was an overflow from the upstairs shower onto the tiled bathroom floor. On investigation we found a clogged up filter in the shower drain so this was easily fixed and didn't happen again. Worth adding to the list for the cleaners to check each time, and making guests aware of in case it happens again. We also needed to buy more toilet rolls as we couldn't find any when the original ones ran out, but I think this was probably on the list of things to bring, and a small price to pay! Thanks again for such a lovely place to stay. It was perfect for my 60th birthday hillwalking treat with some of my grown up family and a good friend. I'd love to come back some time!

So glad you had a nice time and we're paricularily pleased that the weather was kind to you as well. Thanks for drawing our attention to the shower drain. We've sorted it! Property Owner

Everything was clean and tidy, and the anti Covid measures were excellent. The location is wonderful with lovely walks and the loch nearby. There were plenty of activities within easy travelling distance. We enjoyed the glass bottomed boat, a fishing trip, the beautiful, if challenging, hike to the falls of Glomach, Eilean Donan castle and Portree. Sadly we had two failed attempts to visit the Fairy Pools on Skye due to heavy rain. This cottage is in the perfect place for those interested in beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Thanks so much for your feedback. We're glad you had a comfortable holiday in this lovely location Property Owner

We've been travelling to Scotland for nearly 40 years and always stayed in holiday houses/cottages and this is amobgst the best. Spacious, exceptionally well equipped, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and in a great location. Perfect for adults and families. It would be hard to find anything better. We will definitely use again.

  • "We had a wonderful week staying at Tigh Fasgaidh Cottage."

The cottage is in a great spot situated just a short 10 minute walk outside of Dornie and a short drive to Kyle of Lochalsh. The cottage itself is lovely with everything needed for a cosy stay in the highlands, our favourite part was the wood burner which is perfect on those cold nights. Claire and Edward were always on hand to answer any questions we had about the area and there was plenty of material in the cottage offering advice of things to do in the area. They were even kind enough to leave us a bottle of prosecco, cakes and some flowers as we should have been on our honeymoon, this set our holiday up perfectly. We cannot recommend this place enough it is somewhere we will definitely book again.

  • "The organisation to rent the cottage was excellent with follow up emails from Sykes and a lovely email from the owners asking how we would like the bed linen to be organised."

On arrival at the property the keys where easy to find and a lovely welcoming pack was waiting for us in the kitchen. We loved the position of the property close to the sea shore and close to the hills for longer walks. There was a helpful guide left in the cottage well explaining different walks much appreciated. We climbed the hill behind the cottage on the first day to look down at the cottage and see the lovely location with Eilean Donald Castle all part of the Beautiful Location with the Lochs running up to Kyle of Lochalsh. Kyle of Lochalsh was a good shopping centre close to the cottage and catered well for all neads. The property was well kitted out and reading the log of past visitors all have enjoyed their time in Tigh Fasgaidh as we did and have to add the weather was great for the west coast of Scotland during our stay. Thank you owners for sharing your lovely cottage with us and the improvements made reasently make it a lovely place to stay and relax. Thank you for the provision of fire wood for the wood burner which was appreciated. Great holiday home. Best wishes to all those who stay in her.

  • "Me, my girlfriend and 4 of my Best Friends had Chosen this House for our one week Trip from Germany to Scotland."

After our 2 days Trip with the Ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle and Plenty of Hours in the car we Finally arrived in this wonderful House. All of us loved it at first sight. The clean bedrooms and comfortable beds in it, the big kitchen with everything you need, and the highlight was the living room with the super cosy fireplace and couch area. Unfortunately there was no wood when we arrived but at the second day we brought some by the next coop market. But the best thing about this place might be the location. You are almost in viewing distance to the Eileen Donan castle (just a small walk to the nearest loch) Only a 10 min car drive to Kyle of lochalch wich is what you would call a “bigger city” in highland standards. And from there you can enter the Ilse of Skye over the Skye bridge. The Isle of Skye is the most favourite destination of my girlfriend and me and we spend almost the whole week to show all of its wonders and secrets to our friends. It was the third time we visited Scotland and not for the last time for sure. This house gave us everything we needed and I highly recommend it for every family with dogs. Cheers, Leon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're glad to hear you had such a nice time and enjoyed everything the local area has to offer. We don't currently include a starter pack for the fire but we will consider changing our policy for future guests. Kind Regards, The Property Owner Property Owner
