S Angus the caretaker was very pleasant and extremely helpful ! Reviewed by Paul5.0★Aug 2023 "Amazing property in an incredibly beautiful part of the world." It is the best equipped holiday house we have ever been to. It was cosy and warm and provided a perfect base to explore the local area. Angus greeted us on arrival and was incredibly friendly and helpful and the house was clean and beautifully presented. We would thoroughly recommend this property and area to everyone, particularly if you are Harry Potter fans but the area has something for everyone as there is so much beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. We visited the viaduct regularly to watch the train, enjoying the walk from the house through Glenfinnan station to make the most of the views of the loch. We took a boat trip on Loch Shiel and went for a swim in the loch on a quiet afternoon. We took the normal train to Mallaig, so we could travel over the viaduct, drove to Fort Augustus for lunch and a great view of Loch Ness, visited Foyer Falls on the east side of Loch Ness, some of our group climbed Ben Nevis one day and we all enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Ben Nevis Inn, we would recommend it all, all enjoyed through rain and sun, just a fantastic week, we would love to do it all again. Thank you for a wonderful week. I would 100% recommend this property to friends and family. Reviewed by Lauren5.0★Jul 2023 "We had a glorious week at Mullach Ruadh." The house itself was everything we hoped for - spacious, well equipped, comfortable and with the most fantastic views from the decking and garden areas. Close enough to Fort William for supermarkets and fuel we had day trips to Skye, boat trips on Loch Shiel, enjoyed picnics at Loch Arkaig and spotted eagles deer and ospreys from the house. Angus the caretaker was friendly and helpful and was quickly on hand to rectify a small plumbing issue. We can't quite believe how lucky we were with the weather but even if it had rained we would have been very happy with our holiday at Mullach Ruadh - Reviewed by Janet5.0★Jun 2023 "Excellent cottage in a great location, about 15 minutes walk from the Glenfinnan Viaduct." We enjoyed watching the trains go past every day and although the cottage is off the main road, it is high up, so we didn't notice the traffic at all. The property is very well kitted out and the quality of everything is superb, high quality duvets, pillows, crockery etc. Angus, the caretaker, left a welcoming note, with shortbread and flowers and called in to check that everything was fine when we arrived. Whilst there are no shops in Glenfinnan, other than at the visitor centre, we had food delivered from the supermarket in Fort William and then picked up additional supplies when we were out and about. Would have no hesitation in returning, a fantastic place to stay. Reviewed by Wendy5.0★May 2023 "Cottage very comfortable, well equipped & clean." Driveway is only thing that causes inconvenience if incapacitated in any way. Caretaker very helpful and pleasant Thank you and very good observation. When we bought the house, we had exactly the same thought. As a result, we added the staircase from the car park as an alternative to walking up the steep hill. Hope you otherwise had a lovely time at our wee home. Property Owner Reviewed by Barbara5.0★Apr 2023 "Our second time at this property and once again a fantastic stay." The house is so well equipped, cosy and comfortable and the caretaker Angus is helpful and welcoming. The location is also perfect and the view from the kitchen window is stunning. Reviewed by Eileen5.0★Dec 2022 "This is a lovely property, extremely well equipped, very comfortable and with superb views." The Jacobite (Hogwarts) Express steam train runs quite close to the rear of the house during the high season, great for the children, and the Glenfinnan Viaduct is just a short walk away. There are plenty of nice walks close by. The caretaker, Angus, is very helpful, friendly and easily available if needed. Excellent house only thing we couldn’t work out was the under floor heating in bathrooms very cold without it could do with a bit more instruction on this otherwise perfect Reviewed by Mary Helen5.0★Oct 2022 "A beautiful property which has been designed and decorated very nicely." It did the photos on the website justice and was a very welcoming experience when first walking in - let's face it some holiday lets leave a lot to be desired. A nice relaxing lounge with plenty of seating space plus the small snug area for the younger family to play games. The kitchen was well laid out with virtually every utensil possible and plenty of towels and tea towels etc . The beds, pillows and duvets were extremely comfortable and of good quality as were the lovely thick and soft towels. Everything seemed to have been thought about and provided - from cleaning cloths in the kitchen down to face wipes in the bathrooms. If we had any negative point to make it would be the lack of clothes hanging space in one of the bedrooms - it just had drawers. This is a very minor criticism in what was otherwise a perfect and lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend Reviewed by Carol5.0★Aug 2022 "A very well equipped house." The appliances and equipment were top end and the showers were great. Everything had been thought of from plenty of tea towels to first aid kits and life jackets. We can’t recommend it enough and if this is the standard of all LHH properties we will be sure to use them again. Karina PrimroseApr 2022 "Mullach Ruadh is a beautiful holiday house for enjoying family time together." It's one of the best-equipped houses we have ever stayed in. The fresh flowers, wine, and chocolates were a lovely welcome treat and very much appreciated. So was the bag of ice in the freezer. The house is perfectly positioned for many stunning local walks and it was fun to wave at the steam train passengers from the windows at the back of the house. Our kids loved it when the passengers waved back! The log stove was a highlight in the evenings when we snuggled up for our movie nights. A top quality house in a superb location. Stunning. Aileen BairdOct 2021 "We really enjoyed our stay at Mullach Ruadh." The house is very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with cooking utensils/trays etc. Beds were huge with comfy bedding, plenty of bathrooms. The WiFi set-up was complicated with three networks. It would have been useful to have cards with the network codes in each room. BethJan 2020 "Very happy with the property, it met our needs very well." Would like to have seen a visitors book,if only to read previous bookers experiences Could not find any instructions for coffee machine. Suggest a defects book should the need arise. LHH have made this a very clear and straightforward process online but also provided valued advice by phone.Based on this experience would use LHH again and recommend them to others. As for the property we were absolutely delighted with it. It is modern, homely, comfortable, well-equipped and possesses stunning views. We found it to be spotlessly clean and a credit to all involved. We will definitely be back at some stage in the future. If all LHH properties are this good we will be booking with you again somewhere different next year. Please feel free to pass these comments on to the property owner. Just would like to thank the owner of the property for having such a comfortable and high standard of rental property. The house was more than we expected, in fact it was well above expectations. Clean, efficient, and well stocked for all weathers. The property was well maintained, with all of the best of equipment from washing machine to heating. The housekeeper made it especially welcoming with a bottle of wine and some shortcake. After our group came direct from New York and Vancouver, and then driving from Edinburgh and getting to the property late at night, it was so welcoming to find a home we were very comfortable in and found to be very friendly to guests.
