  • "Absolutely outstanding."

The one of many highlights for me was the brightness with the large windows, fantastic. Unlike many properties we've stayed in this was absolutely jam packed with every mod con that was needed. You could easily not set foot outside the cottage if you didn't have to for the duration! The location was spot on with escapism the no 1 reason for me booking with yourselves and it didn't disappoint one bit. I was also lucky enough to meet Alistair the caretaker who I had a great chat with about the island, really interesting. Maybe for future he could be rented out to sit over a glass and tell stories, there will be many

  • "Comfortable and cosy cottage with wonderful views."

Ideal for dog with enclosed garden . In great location next to beach and to travel around South Uist, Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay.

  • "Great cottage in a great location!"

All problems solved in time. E. g. one smoke detector was "on strike" and was exchanged immediately on a Sunday evening! A surprisingly good experience. Next time we come to South Uist we would like to stay there again!

  • "Fab design, decor & location."

So enjoyed just watching the views. We want to move to the Hebrides & should have been up there by now if our house sale hadn't fallen through. It has confirmed that we definitely want a sea/beach view as opposed to a loch or moorland view. Only thing I would say is the toaster only does 2 slices, a 4 slice one would be better & the main bedroom mattress was a little soft but we would definitely stay again as this is the type of place that we most enjoy. Thank you. Wonderful property.

  • "Great cottage ,well equipped and in a wonderful location."

We have visited South Uist several times but never had a view from a cottage like this, amazing. Sat outside most nights enjoying the total peace of the place. The house is very comfy, beds great and furniture as well. Would love to visit out of season to get the dark skies that can be seen . I would recommend this cottage to everyone wanting to stay on South Uist .

  • "We had a lovely week at Beach View Cottage."

Wonderful location for exploring South Uist, Eriskay and catching the ferry over to Barra. The views of the machair, beach and sea from the house were amazing. The big secure garden was perfect for our dog and the house itself is such a lovely place to spend time looking out at the views. It’s very well equipped and the bed is sooooo big and comfy. Only a stones throw from the Polochar Inn for lunch and dinner too ... perfect!

  • "Quiet location."

Lovely to look out over the water at the seals from the lounge. Great for swimming at high tide. Owner quick to respond to anything that wasn't in order. Very comfortable and practical property. Property had most things that we needed although we would have appreciated the following items- egg cups, ice cube tray and clothes pegs. We were impressed with the quality of fixtures and fittings although if it was my place I'd get the window replaced in the double bedroom as it hasn't been fitted correctly and the wind blows in. Super property. Thank you.

  • "This is a lovely new property in a superb location with views to Barra."

The house was immaculate and had everything that you'd need for a relaxing stay. The garden is fully enclosed, with outdoor seating. The Polochar Inn is at the end of the road and it's less than 10 mins to Eriskay. It was our first visit to the Uists and this was an ideal base.

  • "A beautifully presented cottage, spotlessly clean and some lovely ornamental touches on the windowsills."

The large windows that opened like doors were fantastic, especially as it was so warm and sunny while we stayed. We could sit on the windowsills and feel like we were outside. The bedroom door of the double room didn't close properly, especially when lots of windows were open...a little tricky when staying there with teenage nephew! The dishwasher was ridiculously small, especially given the size of the kitchen and the number of spare cupboards. A larger one would have meant only needing to turn it on once a day, so saving water and detergent. The tap arms for the bathroom sinks were rather short, making it tricky to fit things like razors and toothbrushes underneath. The fridge and freezer doors could do with being rehung to open the other way. The coffee table was gorgeous, even though it blocked access to the sofas if brought close enough to use. Showers were lovely. Really useful to have large rolls of cling film and foil and lots of spare loo rolls, dishwasher tablets, etc. Having a separate washer and dryer was really useful...many self catering cottages have an all in one. Overall a lovely cottage in a fabulous location, if it wasn't for the tiny dishwasher and very short armed taps, we'd definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
