. what a wonderful little cottage with amazing views. We were met on our arrival by Dave, he showed us how to work the wood burner heating system, and was very helpful showing us around, the cottage was lovely and clean and has everything you need for a self catering holiday, Linda had already contacted me by text to give directions and advised to bring a few food items as the nearest shop was a wee drive away. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and Dave told us about our possible visitors, my kids (age 11 and 14) were very excited in the hope we might see some wildlife. We left out some fruit and bread and true enough on our 1st night we had 3 little field mice and Bobby the Badger!, on our 2nd night Bobby and the mice came back then on our 3rd night they were joined by a Pine Martin and also 2 deer we had at least one visitor every night which was a great treat as none of us had seen these animals up close in the wild before, it was amazing to sit on the veranda and watch them, they were not phased by us at all. Our weather was fantastic we only had one day of rain, and on that evening we sat under our cosy blankets on the veranda listening to the rain thundering off the roof, it was amazing. Dave has done a great job adding the veranda to the property it was well used by us sitting out every night under the stars with a glass of wine a truly relaxing place. The surrounding area has so much to see, we took a walk from the cottage to Caisteal Grugaig (Dun Totaig) Broch , it took us around and hour and what a view from the top, you pass a great tree swing on the way which the kids loved. We spent our evenings skimming stones on Loch Duich with Eilean Donan Castle lit up across the water. We travelled to Skye to visit the Fairy Pools, Having been there years ago it is much more widely known and was a bit of a disappointment to us as it was so busy!! still nice to see if you have never been but parking is expensive at £5 per car unless you park up the hill a bit and walk in which we did. We also visited Plockton which is beautiful with its palm trees and beautiful harbour, we ate at the Plockton Hotel outside due to the Covid restrictions but as long as you've got the right cosy gear on you'll be fine! We also took a drive up to Carr Brae Viewpoint where you can see Druidaig Cottage from across the water, and we walked the Lochalsh Woodland Walks in Balmacara a beautiful walk to the shore and through the sunken garden at the Estate House. I cannot fault Druidaig Cottage or the surrounding area in any way, Dave kept us stocked up with wood for the burner and Linda communicated all we needed to know they were always on hand should we need anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return some time in the future.... thank you Dave and Linda for sharing this beautiful place. Aynsley Scot Rory & Arwen.. Fife

The property

This charming cottage nestles on a pretty hillside in the tiny village of Letterfearn, overlooking Loch Duich with views down the loch to the Five Sisters of Kintail.

The elevated situation of the cottage is enhanced by the addition of a full length covered veranda from which the spectacular location can be truly appreciated in all weathers.

With the spacious accommodation on one level there are two generously proportioned bedrooms, a twin room and a double room, which has doors leading out to its own private decked patio area.

The well-equipped and sunny kitchen/dining room is simply ideal for those who wish to enjoy home-cooked meals together and the cosy sitting room with the woodburning stove is to be enjoyed after a busy and active day.

With a mountainous backdrop and wonderful views to the front it will be hard to leave this perfect spot but close by there are an amazing amount of activities to be enjoyed.

A short drive around the loch takes you to the much photographed Eilean Donan Castle which boasts a good restaurant and shop and the castle is open to the public for much of the year and well worth a visit.

If castles interest you then cross the bridge to Skye and incorporate a visit to Dunvegan Castle during your tour around the magical island.

For a more adventurous drive follow the hill road over Mam Ratagan and into the village of Glenelg.

The road itself is a popular attraction with great viewpoints and during the summer months a small ferry crosses the Sound of Sleat to Skye which is a special crossing and perhaps more enjoyable than taking the bridge.

A wonderful unspoilt area and a charming cottage to ensure a great holiday.
