  • "Lovely house with so much room."

Kitchen is fully loaded with everything you could need and the books and games made the evening more enjoyable. Comfortable beds and lots of storage in each room. Thank you for having us.

  • "This is a lovely property in an ideal location for exploring the south coast- especially Portsmouth."

spacious and well equipped with a lovely - if slightly neglected - garden. The entrance is a bit tight but we managed! The only issue was that we found the cleaner hadn’t been thorough enough with a polo shirt ( from a previous guest) still hanging on a door and a half eaten packet of crisps in one of the drawers. Having said that it is still worth a second visit.

  • "A lovely house with amazing facilities."

Unfortunately, the internet wasn't working when we arrived, but Pam called her internet guy, who came out on Sunday and did his best to rectify the matter. We can recommend both The Harvest Home, and the White Hart for food, and our 2 year old grandson loved the playground. The house is in a very good location - easy to get to Portsmouth, Southsea, Paultons Park, and Marwell Zoo.

  • "Excellent location."

Nice village within a short drive. Private garden with plenty of space. Quiet neighbourhood. Good fish and chip shop in the village. Good accessibility to motorway network and local amenities. Narrow driveway was the only challenge, but manageable. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. Plenty of resources provided eg lots of toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, food bags, etc. A large fridge freezer - handy for a family. Well resourced kitchen. Plenty of outdoor garden seating. Very clean property. We would stay again. Thank you.

  • "A fantastic property for families to stay and enjoy a break away."

The house itself is spacious, offering a big lounge/ dining room with a useful hatch from the kitchen and includes a spacious garden at the back with ample seating in both for all. The house isn’t the most modern but it does have everything that you need and is very clean- the owners are friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them if there was something extra that we needed. The location was perfect for us wanting to visit Southsea and Portsmouth as well as surrounding attractions a short(ish) drive away (including Peppa Pig World, the beach, Staunton Farm, Marwell Zoo and Goodwood Racecourse). Portsmouth itself is just a 20 minute ride away and had a good selection of places to eat. Southsea is around the same travel time with a pebble beach, model village which was well worth a visit and a pier with amusements. The local village is in walking distance, including a Co Op, bakery, some nice takeaways and two pubs. For us, this house was a perfect option for us to stay as a family with two young children and we’d definitely recommend it. An option of some more equipment for the children to play on in the garden, washing line and bbq would all be a nice touch and the garage is such a good space that could be utilised for some more family game options too. Thank you to the owners for ensuring our stay was a relaxing one.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Barn Green."

A lovely house with all amenities. The only hiccough would be that there is nowhere to hang out washing if you don’t want to use the tumble dryer. However the garden was lovely with lots of seating areas. The house is really nicely furnished. The kitchen has all you could need and is well supplied for dishwasher and washing machine. The driveway entrance is a little difficult but only needs careful driving. All in all a very nice place to stay. Would very much recommend it.

  • "Description of the property must advise that the drive entrance is narrow and at a tight angle."

Not doing this is reflected in the ratings given to Sykes & for the property. Reversing on/off the drive at night is a nightmare. Otherwise the property was comfortable & most facilities we expected were supplied and clean. The drive needs cleaning to be safe.

  • "This is a lovely comfortable house."

It is extremely well equipped and on a very quiet cul de sac. The garden is well maintained, private, and has a lovely patio seating area. Denmead itself is not a pretty village, but it does have all the facilities you will need. Within 5 minutes you are in gently rolling Hampshire countryside. Portsmouth and Winchester are each about 20 minutes away.

  • "The cottage was fine and is well situated for visiting local attractions in West Sussex and Hampshire."

All necessary amenities were provided. However, be aware that booking through Sykes results in a constant bombardment of emails. I have rarely experienced such intrusive marketing. In future I will try to book cottages through some other web site to avoid it.
