    The weather was very cold when we were there and as we are unaccustomed to night storage heaters, we initially did not realise that it was only partially switched on. The owner said she will leave heating instructions in the future.

  • "This property was ideally situated for everything."

    It was 15 mins from the beach, 4/5 mins from bus stops and 5/10 mins from the nightlife. The property itself is spacious and has plenty of room for 2 people. I only marked it down slightly because there were cobwebs on the bedroom walls and the settee needs updating (really not comfy for 2 50+ adults), and maybe a couple more bath towels could be left out for people staying for a week. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed linen clean and fresh and I don't think I have ever seen such shiny floors. And considering we were on the ground floor, we hardly heard the other residents. If we were that way again, I would definitely be looking at staying in apartment 2.

I have spoke to our cleaning lady and Pascale did say that she saw the cobwebs following your departure, but they can develop quite quickly in the autumn. There is a shorter 5 min. route to the beach which is highlighted in the guest info folder.   • "We gave sofe a febreezed as it doesn't smell too fresh so needs covers off and a hot wash."

    Apartment above were noisy at 4. am most mornings and hoovering at11pm one evening Not your fault and not holding that against you.Location is great and garage parking was a bonus.Will be back again and will recommend Sykes cottages.

  • "Property smells damp and the shower is nonexistent"

    Hello Malcolm, Following reading your comments today we inspected the flat to be certain. we have guests staying weekly and no comment has been made to this effect, and as it is occupied most weeks does not ever become musty so we are a little puzzled as the flat has never suffered from any damp.. we checked today. We also tested the shower today and it is still fully operational. we further checked with our cleaning lady and she confirmed that she used the shower to clean the bath/shower/screen with it following your departure and all was fine. As with most bath mixer taps you need to move the lever from bath to shower whichever you chose to use. In our guest information folder we provide all phone numbers for any assistance, however we did not hear from you regarding not being able to operate the shower, and were disappointed not to be able to demonstrate the lever to you as to how it works. no one has ever mentioned this before otherwise we would have clarified this in the welcome pack, i hope you otherwise had a lovely stay in Southsea and historic Portsmouth.   • "Ideal location for exploring Portsmouth on foot."

    The historic docks, Spinnaker Tower and other sites are all within walking distance. The appartment was very comfortable and the use of a garage meant we didn't need to worry about parking - we simply garaged it for the week.

  • "Lovely flat, clean, light and airy, convenient for bus into Portsmouth."

    Garage a bit of a tight fit for my car but handy to be able to put car out of the way for a few days. Flat also close to shopping area, restuarants and Southsea sea-front.

  • "Thee apartment was clean and comfortable."

    It was a nice touch to have complimentary tea, coffee etc. and toiletries. Plenty of shops and eateries nearby and very close to the beach. The garage is a real plus and during the day we were able to park easily on the road. This apartment is in the perfect position for visiting the Victory and Spinnaker and taking a day trip to The Isle of Wight. Would happily stay here again.

  • "The house is pretty clean and beautiful located in a good place with most of essential amenities to enjoy your time."

    However, there is some cons there, I stayed for two consecutive weeks and the main problem was the lack of any bedding sets replacement or laundry machine availability in the home. Then, you forced to use the same bedding all the time that is so difficult and inconvenient. The other issue is with the hot water supplier, which cannot supply hot water constantly, even for a one time bathtub filling in the bathroom.

    Dear Visitors, I am somewhat disappointed to see your comment....I would just like to assure you that we did try to contact you at the end of your first week with us to arrange with you the best time to clean and change. I used the mobile number that you telephoned me on when you arrived, (the number you phoned me from to ask the exact location of the key safe). If you check your text messages you will see this message. Some visitors do not wish to be disturbed and we respect their privacy therefore when we had no response to our message we did not enter. Each flat has its own large water tank, there should have been plentiful hot water and had you let us know we would have had it checked. Best Regards. Property Owner

  • "Everything was good except the on the welcome letter says “VROOM” we have a great WiFi package!"

    It’s not very good at all, it also tells you about restrictions for parking on the road, it’s has a garage for you to park your car, 2 things! You can’t open the garage door, and if you have a good sized car you know chance of getting your car in it. The walls of the flat are very white but the preparation of the walls and the painting of the walls is very poor, “sack the decorator”, a little more effort and it good be very nice. But we still had a great time here, Southsea is a great place to visit, and this flat was perfect for that.

    We installed Virgin Media ' SUPER OOMPH BUNDLE' with broadband, which has hundreds of channels for your enjoyment. My caretaker informed me that you telephoned at that time to ask how to operate it and would have been delighted to assist further if you had let us know but you informed Mark that you had operated the button on the media box and all was well. We have checked the garage door today and it works well, admittedly not a big garage just standard size, but one couple managed to squeeze a large car in it! we decided to include a garage without any applying any additional cost due to overnight street parking restrictions in Southsea now, and most visitors are delighted to find that we offer a garage during their stays. Mark our caretaker or I would have been delighted to assist you if you had mentioned you could not operate the door. Due to the building being Victorian the walls are not totally smooth as you would find in a new build, but have taken on board your comment. I'm so pleased you had a lovely holiday and hope to see you again should you decide to have a break in Southsea again. Property Owner

  • "Apartment was in a ideal location in southsea, lots of local amenities."

    First impressions were not great due to the communial entrance to the flats, but once inside the apartment it very nicely furnished with everything you would need and more, although certain aspects of the decoration make it look DIY. We never heard any noise from the other flats which was a concern but never any problems Garage was a great bonus and my car fitted fine although a modern larger car would be tight ( it's a standard size single garage) We couldn't get WiFi to work but didn't need it so didn't contact the owners so maybe our fault The Virgin TV was a bonus to have so much choice if you wanted to watch TV. We would stay stay again if in Southsea
