  • "We had a fabulous stay at River Gem in Winchester."

    The location is excellent, being along the river is a bonus. Everything was clean, with all the comforts of home. Communication was great with lots of good tips from the owner. We highly recommend it.

  • "There were four of us staying and RiverGem was perfect for us."

    Plenty of room with clean, comfortable and modern facilities. The situation right beside the river, close to shopping/restaurants/pubs and with nature reserves and walking paths on the doorstep, could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. Perhaps a small 'welcome pack' could be left? It would have been nice to have some milk for a cup of tea on arrival (after a long train journey) before we went out to buy food.

  • "Perfect location beside river."

    Nice views from window. Good to have parking space in Winchester. Apartment was warm and had most things you would need to cook. No welcome pack which we have normally had at other cottages but M&S less than 10 min walk. As it was Christmas a little decoration would be nice. I bought some Christmas flowers to cheer the apartment and a little tinsel for the mantlepiece. Made all of the difference. I can recommend River Gem and would stay again.

  • "The accommodations were excellent."

    It was close to the town center, and an easy walk to our son's home. It was the perfect size for the two of us, and we truly enjoyed the fireplace, especially with the cold temperatures during our stay. We will keep this as a primary consideration as we return back to Winchester to visit our family. I highly suggest it to anyone that is looking for a very well maintained "home away from home."

  • "We had a lovely stay at RiverGem."

    Everything was as described, lovely, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for walking into the city, only about 5 minutes. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, We can highly recommend the Bishop on the Bridge which was at the end of the road. The view overlooking the river from the property is lovely. Me and my dog loved to sit in the window watching the ducks and swans, pass by. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend RiverGem and when we are down this way again (which we will be as some of our family live in Gosport) we will most certainly book this property again.   • "You can't get much better located than this property."

    It has an absolutely lovely lovely view of the Ichen River and we thought it was quiet, which was a nice surprise. It is on the 1st floor (2nd for Americans) but there is a carport for you underneath so no need to worry about tippy toeing about so as to not disturb the downstairs neighbors and there is no one above and we never heard the neighbor on only one side. Walk easily to anything you need. If you are handicapped, don't book this place. Inside was VERY clean. We only needed to bring our shower supplies (body wash, shampoo, etc) and everything else was there and ready. The electric fire keeps the place nice and cozy on chill evenings. The heat is controlled with a nice new thermostat you can adjust for the radiators. Windows are nice and new. Can't find a thing to complain about! Definitely will be back.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Winchester."

    The accomodation was very good for our requirements. Good location but you must read the accomodation notes. This is especially true for the limited size of parking space. We would be happy to return to River Gem.
