Unique and the only pod, not one of many. Idyllic and time stands still with gentle sounds of the trickling stream, the birds, lambs and the return of the cuckoo. A perfect host, catering for all requests. Rest and be at peace in this enchanted place and at dusk may be you’ll see the fairies dance around the ever flowing stream.

It was very spacious accommodation, in tip-top condition, and the location was nicely secluded and peaceful. Plenty of walks to be done straight from the Den door - the car wasn't moved until the time to depart. Top marks - would recommend to friends and family!

Thank you, Paul, for your lovely feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and the walks from the Dingle. We would love to welcome you back in the future! Property Owner

  • "Our stay at Dingle Den was amazing from the very moment we stepped out of the car."

Jo was lovely and very welcoming! The Dingle was really cosy & warm. Our dogs (Jess & Badger) really enjoyed themselves and we didn’t really leave the Dingle very much at all. There are some lovely walks from the front door & the dogs had a huge area to chase around/play with a stream to cool off in too. We made use of the outdoor fire pit and were thankful for the logs that Jo had left for the wood burner as some nights could get a little chilly. The only thing I’d ask for at Dingle Den is a saucepan, but again, we’d be happy to bring our own if needed! We are already looking to book this place again later on in the year & can’t wait to return. Thank you for such a lovely stay and it fantastic to be around so many ewes/lambs but not have to worry about the dogs outside!!

Thank you Jo, for leaving the feedback, it’s lovely to know that you all had a great time with us and the dogs enjoyed themselves too! We are looking forward to welcoming you back later in the year and as discussed via email, we will make sure we have an extra saucepan if required. Great that you made use of the fire pit and log burner, it does give a lovely atmosphere in the evenings! Property Owner

The facilities are very luxurious and clean, more spacious than expected, perfect for couples or small families and dogs. The location is great for walking around the area and see the spectacular views. We couldn't believe how much space we had all to ourselves, a lovely little stream with a box to put drinks into and a great area for walking/playing or chilling out with the dogs. Very relaxing with no WiFi or TV. Great for reading, BBQ's and star gazing.

  • "Dingle Den - what a fabulous surprise, it exceeded our expectations."

Beautiful wooden pod with plenty of room for me, my 77 year old mum, my 7 year old son & the Labrador, Penny. The field & meadow which you have all to yourself is huge and so pretty. My son and the dog had great adventures exploring the streams and wooded areas. The peace is amazing, only being interrupted by the tinkling brook and the call of owls each night. We took plenty of activities with us - football, swingball, badminton, remote control cars, paints for pebble painting, cards etc etc. We did venture out in the car but I would have been very happy not to leave our little haven at all. Fires every night, inside & out. The log burner heats the pod up a treat. The Black Mountains are at the top of the meadow - literally! Luke was there to greet us on arrival and he ferried our bags in the wheel barrow provided. Lovely helpful chap. Will definitely be going back. Thank you all at Dingle Den

  • "Dingle Den was everything we hoped it would be - stunningly beautiful, peaceful and private."

We spent a week away from phones, laptops and traffic and we left feeling totally relaxed and revitalised. We spent so much time outside, enjoying the surroundings, having campfires and BBQs and watching out for wildlife, but when it was time to go in for the night the Den had everything we needed - comfort, cleanliness, a super-comfy bed and a great shower! You soon learnt to adapt to life without a fridge (the box in the river works a treat) so don’t let that put you off! It’s only a 20 minute drive from Hay on Wye, where we went on a canoe trip down the river and enjoyed great brunches (at the old Electric shop and The Granary, plus you can have a great coffee and people-watch sitting outside Cosy Cafe) and can highly recommend a hike up the Cat’s Back for stunning views over Herefordshire and the Black Mountains (and you can set off from the gate at the top of the paddock) We just loved the peace (and the privacy!)…there is nothing to hear but birdsong, a babbling brook and the sheep in the field next door. Utter bliss - we will be back.

’ Jo so thoughtful leaving gifts she’d remembered we enjoyed from out first visit in May. Our second visit she had put in place everything asked for a person with limited mobility. Nothing is too much trouble. The cuckoo has sang his tune and flown in June. The hare pops up to say ‘hello’ every day. The stillness, presence of the Cat’s neck mountain behind makes this a special place. We shall return again.

  • "WOW!!!"

We came with our two dogs for our 10th wedding anniversary and we were greeted with such warmth from Jo & Billy, thank you! The surroundings and the actual Dingle Den were everything we’d hoped for! Peaceful, calming, secluded and gave us the ability to totally relax (something that has been near impossible with our busy lives!). The dogs were able to explore and play to their hearts content away from any hazards; which again is something they don’t normally get to do living in a suburb, they had the best time! We are passionate about the environment and this incredible location and eco friendly place to stay gave us the ability to live out our dream of sustainability; with the compostable toilet, solar panels, gas fuelled den it is just wonderful!! Plug into all that is nature and meditate in this beautiful spot, you will not be disappointed!! 100% recommend!!

We have a wonderful few days exploring the local area. The ridge onto the summit of Black Hill is accessible from the door and is a beautiful walk with a real mountain feel. Dingle Dell itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We loved the lack of WiFi and time as a family, making full use of the fire pit outside and the cosy wood burner inside. Our girls loved the space and playing in the stream which runs just by the hut. Thank you to the owners who made us really welcome too. We'll definitely be back :-)

  • "Can’t really fault the Dingle Den."

A secluded and well-built little gem that helps you get away from it all. Lovely surroundings and if you don’t mind negotiating one-track roads and having no phone signal for anyone to bother you, then this is for you. The Den was well equipped and I can’t fault the owners who were polite, communicative and prompt to resolve any issues. The best way to describe it is ‘luxury camping’ as you have a toilet, some power and gas stove, although a fair walk to the fridge. The shower was great too and the Den itself was surprisingly warm. ****The only slight downside is (and I’m unsure if this is Sykes’ fault) is that it lists ‘fishing’ on its features as an accommodation. This is untrue. There is no fishing on site and this was a disappointment because we searched specifically for a ‘fishing holiday’.

  • "We had a great time at the Dingle Den!"

There were two of us and a dog, and it was the perfect size. There is a private car park space and a wheelbarrow to help with getting luggage up the path to the den. The den is perfectly secluded and has a fenced private field with a stream which we were able to let our dog roam free in. The den is eco friendly and runs off solar power which is enough to charge one iPhone at a time and power lights etc but not to use a hairdryer and no fridge. Alternatively, there is a fridge in the barn down the path or you can store items in the stream to keep them cold, which we did-this was quite fun! The shower has good pressure and the water is hot. There is a composting toilet. Kitchen facilities were good and we had a couple of fires in the wood burning stove. There is a fire pit outside that we didn’t make use of. The best part of the Dingle Den is that the field leads straight onto a path with many walking options. We did a couple of routes which looped up and over the Cat’s Back. The family were very helpful and gave us a lovely welcome pack with homemade scones. Would highly recommend for a break from city life!

It's perfect for a small family wanting to explore or a couple wanting to escape a busy and stressful life. It's very peaceful, and for me, my partner and our dog has been an amazing short getaway. On arriving we received a little welcome basket with homemade scones, butter, jam, a small jar of milk and some bottled water which was a lovely touch and very welcoming! The den is solar powered so there is no fridge, we kept things cool in the nearby stream and the owner does keep a small fridge in one of their buildings just a short walk from the den. The den was spotless inside, very cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The fire pit outside is wonderful and we enjoyed a barbeque and toasted marshmallows on our last night! Shops and pubs are just a short drive to hay on wye and there is a local pub about 5 miles from the den and the food was lovely. This short break exceeded our expectations and we are hoping to make it an annual trip.
