The property

Nestled in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, just two miles from Crickhowell (voted the Best Place to live in Wales by The Sunday Times 2019) is Kavieng.

Located in the tiny, picturesque village of Glangrwyney, this generously proportioned, ground-floor, two bedroom holiday home combines the charm of a Welsh country cottage with all the convenience of a modern apartment.

From your doorstep, you can walk up the Sugar Loaf mountain or follow one of many trails through the idyllic countryside to explore the wider National Park.

Fully refurbished in 2021 to a very high standard, Kavieng boasts original features, a new boutique hotel style shower room and an attractive outdoor patio area overlooking the brook which runs through the village.

Set entirely on the ground floor, the apartment sleeps four comfortably.

There are two king size bedrooms, each neutrally furnished with charming and thoughtful touches.

The large luxury shower room features a generous walk-in shower and a bespoke slate counter top.

The fitted kitchen looks out over the beautiful patchwork of cottage gardens and is amply appointed for cooking with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer.

There is also a washer/dryer for your convenience.

From your peaceful patio, you can enjoy morning coffees or evening Apéritifs while listening to the adjacent babbling brook and birdsong. The living room has two plush reclining sofas from which to laze and watch the Smart TV, listen to music, or open the patio doors and enjoy the sunset.

Two miles from lively and picturesque Crickhowell and just four miles from the historical market town of Abergavenny, from your Glangrwyney hideaway you can easily explore castles, medieval mansions and Roman remains, as well as discovering locally-produced food at gastro pubs, ancient inns and restaurants.

A mile away, the village of Gilwern has a few convenience stores and access to the wonderful walks along the Brecon - Monmouthshire canal, with canal boat hire companies offering opportunities to explore by water as far as the historic town of Brecon.

With two National Trails and a National Park, the Brecon Beacons is the ultimate walking and thinking country.

Avid walkers and adventurers can spend their time exploring and enjoying the abundance of hiking, cycling, rock climbing, bird watching and pony trekking opportunities the Beacons provide.

World renowned cultural events including the Hay Festival, Green Man, How The Light Gets In, and the Abergavenny Food Festival take place in the area.
