• "Nice, well equipped cottage in a lovely location, with a welcoming host."

  We appreciated the free eggs as a welcoming gift. This is a cottage with beams upstairs, which we were aware of when we booked it, but as a 6' tall person I found it challenging. There was a comfortable bed, and living room sofa with a smart TV. The downgrade for the comfort is purely down to the tired kitchen chairs, which lacked support. Kingsland has 2 excellent food pubs The Corners Inn, and The Angel, both of which are recommended. There are National Trust properties nearby, and Ludlow and Hereford are lovely, which makes this Cottage well located, and worth a stay.

• "The cottage was so lovely a home from home."

  We loved the touch of fresh eggs which went down well, and dogs loved their treats. Surrounding area of cottage was great for dog walks as long as you avoided the stiles. We only used the main bed but it was very comfortable and good linen. Lots of information including recommended pubs which the Angle is brilliant. Loved our time there hope to be back.

• "We had a lovely, restful time in this peaceful cottage set in the countryside, surrounded by fields, orchards, birds and sheep - I would certainly like to stay here again."

  The cottage had all the necessities and was beautifully clean, the bedding and towels were very good quality. It felt like a real home from home for us two friends who live at opposite ends of the country to have a peaceful catch up, good walks and good food. The fresh eggs, doggy treats and a hand written note were a most kind thought. There are low beams of course, as to be expected in a building of this age but they were no problem. There are some good walks on Hereford Lane and other minor lanes nearby - the walk to Shobdon Arches is a real treat (as is the food at The Bateman Arms). Be careful if walking on the A4110 and B4362 though - there are no verges and the traffic goes at a rush.

• "Lovely peaceful location, very clean and comfortable, all that we required was provided."

  We did find the dining chairs difficult to get off as they were very soft and low. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the lovely walks. We will return again! Thank you for the lovely fresh eggs

• "I have been renting holiday cottages throughout Herefordshire for 1 year."

  I sold my home in the Peak District and am looking to buy in this this area. Bullfinch cottage was the best experience I have had during the whole year. The cottage has every convenience and the owners are most accommodating. The grounds are a piece of heaven. Wild flower meadows and beautifully manicured lawns surround the cottages. I can highly recommend this property

• "The property itself is well presented, spotlessly clean and everything is provided - I need not have packed the "extras" that are usually needed when self-catering!"

  The only slight inconvenience was the very small and low wattage microwave; not too much problem for the two of us, but not sure how a party of 4 would cope - perhaps everybody eats out! The garden area is nice for outdoor eating, but the wooden garden table/bench is well weathered.

• "Excellent property with all the facilities you would expect."

  Log fire was excellent as it was pretty cold weather during our stay. Local pub the Angel was great. Excellent location for visiting a number of great places. Ludlow being top of the list. But also Hereford, Leominster and hay-on-wye. Castle's and national trust properties all close by.

• "If you want a peaceful get away from it all place this is it!"

  The cottage was very cozy and warm, perfect for a winter break. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful, we were spoiled with a welcome pack and the place was decorated for Christmas which we hadn’t expected but really appreciated. There were plenty of places to walk the dog, and it was easy to get to shops and towns when needed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "Beautiful location."

• "We had a warm and comfortable stay at Bullfinch cottage ."

  The facilities were very clean . The sofa and kitchen chairs were rather saggy ,needed a cushion on the chair to sit at the table ! Liked the eco products and the owners were helpful ……Ann

We’ll take a look at the chairs and sofa – we think some of this could relate to personal preference to a certain extent as some like the ‘sink-in’ feel of a sofa whilst others prefer a bit of a firmer seat – but we’ll review softness against sagginess as we appreciate the two are not the same thing. • "Lovely cottage."

  Road leading to cottage quite a lot of pot holes. Bedrooms had low beams which meant had to keep head bent for fear of hitting the beams. Apart from that couldn’t fault the accommodation

• "Very clean and comfortable accommodation."

  Cottage was well equipped and furnished. Care had been taken to present information clearly to guests in the folder, demonstrating care for the comfort, safety and well-being of their guests. Really appreciated the eco-cleaning products and toilet rolls. Lovely setting and surroundings, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you

• "Comfort is purely because of my height - as this is an older property, shouldn't be surprised that there are low beams - and facilities is just because we needed to reset the fuse box when the electricity turned off overnight, which could've been more frustrating if there were more devices needing to be charged/more stuff in the fridge and freezer but didn't affect us too badly."

  It was a little tough to see the sign to turn into the property originally due to overgrown plants around it, but once we figured it out every other part of the stay was great. Very peaceful area, and quite welcoming.

• "Great cottage, great stay."

  The sofa could do with a reupholster, as you sink in. The chairs at the dining table are also in need of an upholster as again you sink in. A small welcome basket with a few basics would be a nice touch, you always feel really welcome when the owners do this. Overall the stay was really nice and a good location with plenty of parking.

• "A lovely comfortable cottage in a rural location."

  Plenty of wildlife to see. The hosts are on hand to ensure you have everything needed but otherwise leave you to enjoy your holiday. I was so pleased to see the 'eco' cleaning stuff, handwash, toilet rolls etc. It really did feel like a home from home. Facilities for recycling too. We only used the log burner once as we had a brief chilly spell on the Sunday, but the cottage was plenty warm enough with just the central heating.

• "We had a wonderfully relaxed and peaceful stay in this cottage."

  It was wonderfully warm, we didn't need to use the log burner even though it did snow whilst we were there and there was an enormous basket of logs. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, although a few more mugs would have been useful when there were 4 of us there. The owners were on hand and very helpful when we needed advice. I would thoroughly recommend this property and we hope to return again.

• "The cottage was lovely."

  Near to some interesting places to visit. Just a couple of suggestions: The kitchen was very well stocked but May l suggest a group of prep boards for meat/fish/vegetables. Also perhaps a small welcome/starter pack, such as milk, bread and eggs. The hosts were on hand for any queries but not intrusive. Thank you and regards from June, Brian and Susie.

The cottages do contain some chopping boards but indeed they are wooden - we’re trying our best to minimise our plastic footprint but we will review our inventory to take account of uses for mixed purposes.
