  • "Lovely character barn conversion."

We stayed over Christmas, and we were greeted by a lovely welcome Christmas pack. Plus decorations to give a festive atmosphere. Very spacious accommodation, clean, easy to use gas oven, there is a fridge but without the usual small freezer compartment. We had a slight issue with shower head but was soon put right by Ed. (owner) he was very approachable with any query we had. Loved watching the many birds in visiting, the peace and quiet, beautiful surrounding villages. My only con. Which is only a personal one, was the very hard mattress. Which all things considered is a very minor issue

Thank you Margaret for taking the time to leave us such a comprehensive review – its hugely valuable for us in ensuring we always look to improve our offering and indeed for prospective guests in helping them get a real feel for their stay. Thank you! Property Owner

  • "Redstart Cottage This is a charming cottage with characterful beams in the lovely large restful lounge, with a good big TV."

The decor is so in keeping with the cottage, a large kitchen with every thing you need is provided. The bedroom was a good size with a lovely comfy bed. There was plenty of hot water all day. All in all this is a clean bright cottage and would definitely come back, the owners were always around with a booklet with all their details and places around to visit. Well done Ed and family

Thank you Wendy for your comprehensive feedback – delighted that Redstart met with your expectations and served your every need. We’d love to welcome you back anytime! Property Owner

  • "Really beautiful natural setting, we found that having many villages within a 5 minute drive was perfect for us if we wanted to go to the local restaurant or inn, or to the convenience store for some supplies and cook for ourselves."

Property was very clean, tidy and cosy, plenty of space to relax and the wide screen TV was an added bonus for us.

Hi Faizan, thank you for leaving us a nice review and we’re really glad the cottage offered you and your group everything you needed during your stay. Redstart (and indeed all of The Buzzards Holiday Cottages) offer guests a great base location and it sounds like you got to really immerse yourself in the locality and surroundings which is great....and yes, definitely agree, the 43” Smart 4K TV is certainly a nice bonus when you’re ready to put your feet up at the end of the day. Happily welcome yourself and your co-guests back anytime! Property Owner

  • "Pros: it’s a cute small cottage suitable for couple, it’s quiet, lovely view, located in a scenic area it had a 4k TV we had fresh eggs for the first day which was really nice Cons: not suitable for 2 adults 2 children as stated it’s way to small, it was full of cobwebs wasn’t dusted before we came it has NO HOT WATER past the afternoon kids struggled if they needed a bath, hosts were invisible until we were going home, no freezer the fridge didn’t really keep anything cold either."

No washing machine which is a struggle if you bring kids as shops are pretty far. It could do with a make over maybe invest in a fridge a washing machine and dryer for ease, the deco could do definitely with modernisation and cleanliness everything was old and rusty apart from the wooden table set in the living area.

Thank you Sumayya for taking the time to provide us with some feedback. Redstart is a spacious property but it still is a one-bedroomed property at the end of the day so this does need to be considered when booking for a family (depending on your personal requirements) and the photos are very reflective of the available size. We would prefer to politely contest your cobweb and dust references also as we do pride ourselves on providing a clean, tidy environment (knowing how important it is for our guests, their expectations and indeed our own standards). The water is on twice a day (morning and late afternoon) which should have provided a plentiful supply of hot water but should you have had any issues during your stay then the welcome book clearly states to please get in touch, there are four listed ways (telephone, text, WhatsApp and email) and whilst we are onsite we purposefully provide our guests with privacy and space as a default position...other than of course saying hello and asking if things are ok if we happen to cross paths (...in fact we have often stopped to chat with many guests but this follows their initiation so we do not impose). The property listing does not advise there is a freezer, washing machine or dryer so whilst technically accurate we can appreciate that perhaps assumptions are easily made, particularly around access to a freezer of some description so we shall look to remedy that provision and also call out more specifically on the listing that there is NOT a washer and dryer in the cottage. With regards to modernisation and décor, we’ve not had any complaints on this front prior and as aforementioned the pictures are very reflective of the cottages’ presentation and style. If you meant to characterise the cottage as rustic (rather than rusty?) then we’d agree with that – the property is a stone barn conversion and with that comes charm and character (in our humble opinion) rather than state of the art finishes and smooth lines. We appreciate the pro’s you mentioned – thank you for that – and glad some positives were garnered from your stay. All the best. Property Owner
