  • "This is a lovely modern cottage with much to recommend it."

The downstairs is very spacious and the main bedroom has a large ensuite. This cottage is an end terrace, adjacent to a large field. A combi boiler means you never run out of hot water and the heating is effective. The whole place is in very good condition, with some issues noted below. We did order one takeway from the main restaurant and it was very good, otherwise we didn't use any onsite facilities. The local co-op is only a few minutes walk away and well stocked. We would be happy to stay again. Here are some things that should be addressed ASAP: - Wifi password sticker missing (solved after several text messages exchanged) - Central Heating timer broken - Dirty oven shelves need a deep clean - It would be useful to have written information in this accommodation or receive it by email (site facilities, local shop info, WiFi info, bins, heating/hot water, checkout process). Here are a couple of things that didn't suit us: Synthetic bed linen in upstairs bedrooms (100% cotton would be much more comfortable) Missing gap where the washing machine should be in kitchen is a bit weird. There is no thermostat in the main living area to automatically turn the central heating on and off

  • "The new owners were there when we arrived and they did explain about the substantial water leak surrounding the hot tub."

This did slightly dampen (excuse the pun) the experience as the dog wasn't allowed out there, due to the amount of mud, and it would've been nice to have a BBQ as the weather was so lovely in the evening. The cottage itself was clean and as advertised but it was tired and showing signs of needing some updating. There wasn't a bread knife or sieve and tbh the missing washing machine space would be much better served as a storage cupboard. There is a launderette on site and not needed. The lack of food storage was an issue. That being said we did have a lovely break. The location was excellent and we did enjoy walking around the lake.
