  • "This was our second stay in the holiday cottage as it is a great base for us when visiting friends on the island."

    It's perfect for us as a family of four. Safe space outside for children to play and everything you could possibly need in the house for a lovely stay. You can walk into Yarmouth easily - we walked across the fields - and also to the beach at Fort Victoria. An easy drive to the supermarket at Freshwater and a great base to see the sights of West Wight. We will be visiting again!

  • "Wonderful cottage in a great location, very close to ferry and good base to visit anywhere on the island."

    John was exceptionally helpful in assisting with the ferry booking and discount and in providing local knowledge about the Isle of Wight and things to do. Accommodation was tidy and felt like a home away from home. We would love to return sometime.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Pilmoth9."

    The beds were super comfy and everything there you could want available in the cottage. It was nice to sit out on the decking at the front in the evening and watch the sun go down. It was lovely and quiet and being that time of the year not many people about. Would certainly recommend a stay there. The owners were very very helpful and provided lots of information about the area and local places to eat.

  • "Myself husband and two children aged 5 and 9 have just returned from a fabulous stay at Plimouth N9."

    It's a relaxing home from home stay that it is well equipped for all your needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed exploring all the IOW has to offer. John was extremely helpful in sorting out the ferry booking for us and the discount certainly helps so that was very much appreciated. we will definitely be back again to stay one day.

  • "This was our 2nd visit to Plimoth No #9, and it was perfect for our needs."

    We visited during a heatwave and benefited from having a second bedroom (when you just need to change beds at 4 in the morning!) although nights are generally cooler than London by a few degrees making it so much more bearable. Having the extra space at the back of the cottage came in really handy during the heat. John had some helpful suggestions about our journey through the New Forest and ferry from Lymington which was much appreciated. We're sure trip number three will be on the cards for 2026.   • "We've had a super week here and your suggestions were very helpful."

    Regular swimming at Freshwater Bay was a highlight. Very lucky with the weather of course.The house is lovely and I covet the curtains!

  • "Lovely Holiday cottage in great location."

    Close to Yarmouth by foot and rest of island by bus just a couple minutes away to bus stop. Cottage clean and homely. Great to find towels provided and cleaning products. Host really helpful providing additional information to make our stay great

  • "A fantastic cottage, easily the best we've stayed in and we've stayed in a lot."

    Great communication from John, the owner, who also got us a great deal for the ferry. Everything you could possibly need is provided and it is in a lovely, quiet location but nice and close to shops, takeaways and places to eat.

  • "A lovely site where my wife and I felt secure and safe."

    Convenient position for Yarmouth town, which is lovely and for island touring. Bus stop just outside the main site entrance if you want to save the car. John the owner was extremely helpful. Taken all together, a very relaxing and memorable holiday.

  • "We enjoyed our visit immensely to Plimoth N9 cottage on the Isle of Wight."

    The accommodation was excellent, every thing you needed if you wanted to self cater and within easy reach of many places you could eat out in. The cottage was located in a lovely area, the garden area was well maintained and parking space allocated. Special thanks to John for all the help he gave us re booking the ferry and guidance on where to eat out and places of interest to visit.

  • "We loved our stay at Plymouth N9."

    It's a very well maintained holiday home, close to Yarmouth ferry and Freshwater. John and Liz have thoughtfully provided plenty of utensils for the kitchen and barbecue, as well as board games for rainy days and essential beach/picnic accessories. It's in a great location on the site which gives you more external space than usual (at the side and back of the property) and more privacy than other lets. We had family over for lunch at Easter and they all approved! And would we come again? Absolutely

  • "We had a lovely few days at Plimoth N9."

    The house is a little home from home; very welcoming with everything you need for a short stay. We are a family of four with two children; 9 and 7yo and there was plenty of space for us all. The house is tucked away on the site so it's is nice and private, but still with freedom for the children to safely play on the greens outside as there are no cars to worry about. The location is great and worked perfectly for us as we have friends in Freshwater nearby. There is easy access to lots of public footpaths for some lovely walks, it's a simple 20 minute walk into Yarmouth (we went cross country) and an easy walk to Fort Victoria. The hosts were incredibly helpful, communication was excellent and they enabled a substantial saving on our ferry crossing which we were hugely grateful for. We would recommend and hope to return!

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
