“Not a lot of contact from Sykes Cottages, usually use VRBO and still prefer.”

The property

Offering comforts including a woodburning stove and ground-floor living, The Wash House is perfect for a couples' break or a family holiday.

Step onto the oak floor of the kitchen, admiring the cream units and excellent appliances in here, including a Rangemaster cooker with a gas hob, so you can whip up delicious home-cooked meals.

Head through the folding oak doors and into the living/dining room, a lovely large room with views out to the rear garden through the double French doors, with a centrally positioned woodburning stove to warm you on a cool night as you settle on the soft seating to enjoy watching TV.

Open up the French doors in the summer and step out into the garden, enjoying alfresco dining on the patio or sunbathing on the lawn, it's a lovely space to enjoy.

The ground floor boasts two bedrooms, both with double beds, ample storage and attractive décor, one boasting doors out to the garden terrace.

Serving these bedrooms is the ground-floor shower room, whilst upstairs, discover a lovely bathroom complete with a bath and separate walk-in shower with marble-effect subway tiling, it's a gorgeous space to freshen up.

Finally the third bedroom is another double built into the pitch of the roof but still offering full head height, with Velux windows to flood in the natural light.

The location of The Wash House is right in the heart of Bembridge, and just a stone's throw from the coast with a short walk bringing you to the famous Crab and Lobster Inn and The Beach Hut café.

Settled on the most easterly point of the Isle of Wight, Bembridge is home to three beaches, a harbour and even it's own airport and won 'Village of the Year' in the Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019.

Explore the lovely beaches of Lane End, the Ledge and Bembridge Beach with a mix of pebbles, sand and rocks, each one is unique with rockpools to find and beautiful views to enjoy.

Take a relaxing stroll over to the harbour to see the boats bobbing in the waters, with opportunities for fishing trips, chartering boats and sea cruises all available here for a memorable day out.

Visit one of the Isle of Wight's most recognisable pieces of architecture, Bembridge Windmill resting on the outskirts of the village, now owned by the National Trust, or take a walk over to the see the natural timber building of Bembridge Lifeboat station standing offshore.

Enjoy a day out to one of the island's many attractions like Wildheart Animal Sanctuary or the Amazon World Zoo, head to The Garlic Farm Shop and Restaurant or take a detour up to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

About the location

BEMBRIDGE

Ryde 7 miles; Newport 11 miles; Cowes 16 miles; Yarmouth 20 miles.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.
