  • "Berisal is a really beautiful and exactly how it looks in the pictures."

    However there were quite a few things that were disappointing. We were sent a message that there would be a welcome hamper and milk in the fridge. There was nothing in the hamper and no milk. When we arrived it was really cold and the heating was locked at 15 degrees so we had to use blankets and jumpers. We couldn’t figure out how to turn the media wall lights on as the controls left didn’t work or were not correct. I messaged the number left for us to contact and had no response. The bedding and floors were clean but the kitchen ovens bbq and bi folds were not cleaned and we actually cleaned them. The games room located at the end of the garden had no WiFi so we were unable to use the TV. It is overall a beautiful place to stay. I just think the communication and cleanliness could have been better. The contr

  • "Berisal is a lovely house."

    Large, modern and well equipped. It is in a great position for walking, with a back gate opening straight onto managed woodland. The road at the front is very busy however, and can be heard at night from the three bedrooms with windows on the road side. There were a few small things we wished to ask the owners about before and during our stay but we had no response from the mobile number provided for them. The doorbell and some remote controllers needed new batteries, we wanted to ask where the food waste bin, mentioned in instructions, was, and to let them know that some oven trays were found dirty with grease on arrival. I had no replies to my messages. We still had a great stay and enjoyed the time sharing the house with friends over New Year.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave us with feedback that is very important to us. Firstly apologies that you received no responses from the mobile number provided. We have two numbers both monitored constantly and frequently message via the Sykes app. We will address this with the management company and Sykes right away!! Secondly the dirty oven trays are completely inexcusable and we can only apologise profusely for this! It is not what we strive to provide and this will be addressed immediately going forward.   • "This house is stunning I don't feel the photos do it justice!"

    We stayed for 2 nights, 10 adults, 2 babies 1 dog and there was more than enough space it didn't feel crowded at all. The selling point for us was the hot tub and the games room and we made use of both which was great. I had concerns that maybe the house would be short on equipment or supplies but I shouldn't have worried! They've thought of everything right down to washing up liquid and tea towels! Cooking for a large group obviously means you need large saucepans, lots of plates, cutlery etc and Berisal has it all! Clean, comfy, inviting and only a short distance from Canterbury we'll definitely be staying again!

  • "Staying at Berisal was breathtaking."

    It was absolutely beautiful and really wowed all my guests. It was very spacious and had all the facilities we could need. It can be very difficult to find at night time as it gets very dark where it is located and many of the guests got lost and needed verbal directions. As it doesn’t have a house number I think it may benefit from a bigger sign to indicate where the house is. We had an issue on the first night with heating as the thermostat was locked at 15 degrees and we could not change it so the house was freezing and everyone was wearing blankets and jackets to keep themselves warm which is not ideal. However after communicating with them, they sent someone out early in the morning to fix it which I found quite efficient. Despite this, I would definitely love to stay there again as it is a lovely place and the owners are very responsive and quick to help. Thank you so much!

  • "Our stay "Berisal" premises, what a lovely place it was, so spacious and facilities to help all whilst staying."

    I was with my Disabled Wife and three Daughters with their partners, it was my Wife's 80th Birthday, we all absolutely loved it. We were also honoured with the arrival of three Peacocks over the weekend, up on the house extension and down on the games room, then on Sunday they walked about the garden and up onto the Patio section looking for anything to eat. Amazing. How often does that happen. Definately hoping for a second visit. Loved it. Thanks.

  • "This is a lovely property, but there were a few drawbacks as the property is new to the letting market."

    There were no bath mats so the bathroom floor got wet and slippery, there was a lack of toilet rolls especially downstairs as we had to get from the upstairs toilets. There was no mirror in my downstairs bedroom which I would have liked when drying my hair. The hot tub needed more explicit instructions as we tried to swith in on/off button then found out that it is switched on all the time! There were no curtains/ blackout blinds in the upstairs master bedroom so in summer when it gets light early, it will wake you up early! Apart from all this we enjoyed all the facilities a d had a comfortable stay. I am sure the owner will rectify these problems to make it comfortable for future holiday makers. We would return again to this property. My daughter went for a run each morning in the forest accused by the garden gate at the back.

As we discussed during your stay, we make sure to provide enough toilet rolls in the house to get guests through the first couple of days, but as the property is fully self catering we don’t provide full stocking. We are sorry you had to take a toilet roll from upstairs to use downstairs! The mirror in the downstairs bedroom is a well received suggestion so thank you. Black out blinds also for the summer in the Master Bedroom. Bath mats is something we have addressed with the management company as these should have been supplied and can only apologise that they were missing. Lastly the hottub - instructions on how to press the button to activate the jets are clearly included within the welcome pack, we also responded instantly upon recieving your question, so it’s a shame to hear this ended up being an inconvenience.     It was exactly how it appeared in the pictures, yet still exceeded our expectations in real life. A heartfelt thank you to the personal touch added to the welcome hamper.   • "Fabulous holiday, cottage was perfect for us."

    Two sets of elderly parents two dogs. Having the wood at the back of the cottage was fab for the dogs and to watch nature. Great base to explore Kent, worthwhile visits include Canterbury, deal, dover, folkestone, margate, ramsgate and our favourite Whitstable. Cottage was as listed, well stocked..... lovely lovely lovely

  • "I recently stayed at Berisal and I must say the house exceeded expectations."

    Great value for money with the beautiful interior and out, quite easy to locate and it had all the amenities we needed (and more). For my party of 10, we had more than enough space for all the activities we had planned. A special shout out to the owners, I really struggled with comms with Sykes but they stepped in by reaching out directly, providing the information I needed and answering any questions I had. I strongly recommend staying at Berisal, and in future I would definitely book again!

  • "The holiday property did not disappoint us, it had a well equipped kitchen and fabulous furnishings."

    Unfortunately we had a power cut and water pressure issues on the first night but the owner was supportive, given this is a rare occurrence. It’s position near the forest is lovely and good walks for dogs. Bedrooms and bathrooms lovely, only slight downside toilet removed from downstairs en suite, but one available in hallway. On the whole a beautiful large property ideal for family get togethers.

It was very unusual to last that long and we are glad that our support went some way to help. Unfortunately due to damage by a previous guest that blew the macerator, the toilet within the downstairs en-suite was removed (2 days before your stay) we took the decision to not replace as the macerators can be very problematic. With the downstairs toilet within the hallway and a further ground floor toilet in the Games Room we felt it the best option. We apologise as we did request the property description to be updated upon removal but it took a few days to be addressed. We are glad this didn’t affect your stay and thank you for being wonderful guests, we would love to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from a long weekend at Berisal (four generations of one family."

    ) We all thoroughly enjoyed being at the property. The owners kindly provided us with a digital copy of a guide to the house before we arrived. This thoughtful gesture was so useful and meant that we didn’t have to spend the first half hour or so of our visit familiarising ourselves with the house. The house was spotlessly clean and we were greeted with a lovely card and welcome basket when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable and plenty towels and linens were supplied. The kitchen was well equipped Everything was just as shown on the website. The garden was immaculate and the hot tub was really appreciated by those who used it – my son, my granddaughter and her partner we’re brave enough to get in in cold February. The games room was heated and had its own toilet. The house was comfortable and we never felt cold. I can certainly recommend this property and for a multigenerational family like ours it was simply one of the best places we have stayed with Sykes.

Challock is a large, mostly wooded village resting between Ashford and Faversham, Kent. The village rests in the beautiful Kent Downs AONB, close to one of the highest points on the North Downs, and offers a choice of idyllic walks nearby including Bluebell Forest and Kings Wood. Dining options include The Halfway House serving traditional pub fare, the popular George Inn in Molash, and The Wagon & Horses just outside Challock, while you can stock up on essentials at The Barn Shop.
