Beautifully equipped with great thought given to what would be needed for a family holiday. The location is perfect for exploring the Kent coast. On arrival the house was clean and tidy with a lovely welcome pack. The children loved the garden and watching the cows in the field at the back of the house. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this house to anyone.

  • "Fantastic property in a beautiful, peaceful location."

We were blessed with some great weather and the views over the fields from the living room and bedroom are amazing! The house was very well equipped and had so much space for us all (2 adults and 4 teenagers). The gas BBQ is a really nice touch too, enjoyed putting that to good use whilst the sun was out. There's lots to do and see in the area and all easy to get to. We loved the mini steam train and can definitely recommend a visit Port Lympne safari park.

  • "We had such a great holiday at The Hideaway Beach House."

It was very spacious, very clean and had plenty of room for our family group of 5 adults, a 3 year old and a baby. We loved looking out at the cows in the field behind the back fence, little foxes chasing each other there in the evenings and so much happy birdsong. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed a steam train ride, Rye, Hythe, Folkestone and of course Ashford for shopping on the one rainy day! The only improvement we would suggest is to have blackout blinds on the velux skylight windows as the bright early morning light wakened the children very early each day. Thank you to the owners for this lovely holiday home and so many thoughtful touches such as extra crockery, cutlery and a lovely welcome basket.

  • "Excellent property - can't fault it."

The house was immaculately clean and well furnished, with tons of space in every room. Idea for family holiday. In our party we had a married couple (top floor double room with en suite), single adult (top floor double room with en suite), single adult (first floor double room - family bathroom) and two children (first floor twin room - family bathroom). So, plenty of space for us all to spread out. Location is a quiet close 5 minutes walk from the sea front - which was excellent. Owners provided plenty of games, books and DVDs, with a large TV in the living room. Welcome basket was a lovely touch, as well as the additional information the owners provided on the local area - places to eat, attractions, timetables etc. Overall, a fantastic property and place to stay. We would not hesitate to book The Hideaway Beach House again on our next visit to the area. Thank you so much to the owners for creating a wonderful place to spend our holiday.

  • "We received plenty of information about the property, accessing the key, leaving the property after our stay."

The property was in a great location with interesting views at the back of the property, we watched cows, heron, rabbits, foxes and birds of prey. On arrival the house was spotless. The kitchen was well equipped, even down to kitchen scale, measuring cups etc things I have had to take on previous holiday for grandchildren's cake making. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms to accommodate us all. Three generations of the family had a fantastic week. Just one point, would have liked a washing line/ tumble dryer to be able to dry washing.

Hi Gail Many thanks for your very positive review i am really glad you enjoyed your stay. Just one small point though that whilst not helpful now it might be useful for other guests reading this review. There is a washing line. It’s a retractable one attached to the wall in the garden. A really big thanks for your feedback, as a result we have put a note in the welcome pack in the house and have also updated the property description. Again many thanks and hope you return soon. Highly recommended! Only comment with such a large accommodation is that it may be difficult to fully list itinery. Our query to you as to availablity of electric fans was (understandibly) met with the answer if not listed not provided. With such large windows we needed them even in cooler weather. The house itself is excellent. Bright, quiet, very spacious and modern, it has a fantastic, well-equipped, kitchen and a lovely living area with a great view over part of the marshes - very relaxing! It's also perfectly located for walking the English Coast Path all the way from Rye to Dover, (which we comfortably managed in our week here). The stop for the 102 bus, which runs along the coast for that whole section, is just 4 or 5 minutes walk away. So convenient and, just as important, very reliable! There are plenty of restaurants, take-aways. convenience stores and even a large Sainsburys within 20 - 30 minutes walking distance, as well as an amazing tardis-like Spar just a 5 minute walk away. We had a wonderful week here exploring Rye, Dungeness, Dymchurch, Hythe, Folkestone and Dover as well as Littlestone itself.

About the location

LITTLESTONE-ON-SEA

Folkstone 13.9 miles

Littlestone-on-Sea is a small coastal village close to New Romney in Kent, England. It was established in the 1880s by Sir Robert Perks as a resort for the gentry, at the point of the local lifeboat station. At low tide a World War II Mulberry Harbour Phoenix breakwater is visible along the coast; the caisson was unable to be refloated as part of the post D-Day harbour construction in Normandy, so was abandoned. The nature of the Phoenix breakwaters meant they were constructed and sunk until needed (so as to be invisible to air attack); by design they would have had the water evacuated by Royal Engineers and then been towed to France where they would have become part of the harbour. There is a P.L.U.T.O. or Pipe Line Under The Ocean, station, formerly used to carry petrol across to France during the D-Day landings.
