Capel-le-Ferne 3 miles; Hythe 4 miles; Dover 8 miles; Canterbury 19 miles.

Situated on the edge of the Kent Downs AONB, Folkestone is a lively port town, with a wonderful mix of amenities and attractions. There are over 100 art galleries and studios in the Creative Quarter and an excellent selection of bars and restaurants at Folkestone Harbour; you can enjoy beautiful sea views to France from The Leas; or enjoy a picnic or BBQ at the beach at The Lower Leas Coastal Park. You can take part in a fantastic selection of watersports at Folkestone’s sandy beach, including sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The town’s second beach is much rockier and a great spot for birdwatching, wildlife lovers and fossil hunting! Explore parts of the 153 mile-long North Downs Way National Trail, which leads from Farnham to Canterbury and past the White Cliffs of Dover through the Kent Downs AONB and Surrey Hills. Within an hour you can visit Dover Castle and Chartwell, home to Sir Winston Churchill, or spend the day perusing the pretty cobbled streets and interesting shops of Canterbury.
