  • "A beautiful property in a great location, very well presented and generously equipped."

We loved our week, the great weather also helped. The property is spacious with a lovely garden and great views. We only ate out once as the dinning area is a great place to eat and chill. We used to live in Cockermouth for 34 years and Keswick is one of our favourite places. It was nice to come back and visit after moving away from the area and to see old friends - the house and stay made for a perfect week. We will look to come back again next Spring.

  • "Really good property, with close access to Keswick."

Pros: - Modern kitchen and dining area, with open plan - Great bifold windows - Good toilets and shower - Lovely garden, really well maintained Cons: - For a place in the Lakes, a bigger airing rack is needed to dry clothes - Install an outside washing line to air clothes - Have an ironing board. There's no point just having an iron - Lake lovers should do more to keep a few bin liners, hand wash in each toilet, and more tea towels. There was one tea towel to dry and none of the other above products. A customer should not have to spend a lot of money for a week's stay and then buy bin liners. A few could at least be added for the beginning of the week - Upstairs curtain poles are loose, to the point of breaking off. They need replastetring and securing. - Bit more colour/pictures to the upstairs bedrooms

It is a lovely property in a quiet location but easy walking distance to town. The garden is a good size and enclosed, perfect for our dog. The kitchen is well equipped (though we always eat out or or bring in a takeaway). It is good to have off road parking too. It provides everything we need for a week of walking in the Lakes and we have already booked for next year.

The house was well-equipped and very warm - we forgot to bring logs for the fire but we didn’t need it. There was a cleaning pack but no teabags etc provided, which we were aware of from previous reviews so didn’t cause an issue. The garden was just right for our dog and will be lovely once all the bulbs are out. We would definitely stay here again.

Good sized off road parking space. Nicely equipped and decorated throughout. Comfortable beds, plenty of fresh, generously sized bath towels. Enclosed garden great for dogs. Beautiful views. Only minor disappointment is that this is first property where we have not been greeted with a small basic welcome pack - a few tea bags/coffee and milk plus a starter pack of kindling and logs would be a nice additional touch.

Greengarth is a beautiful, well appointed property with modern furnishings, comfortable beds and a great shower. There is a neat enclosed garden to the rear which was perfect for our two small dogs and a lovely patio area to sit out, directly off the kitchen / dining area. It wasn’t cold enough to use the log burning stove this week but can imagine this would be a great feature during the colder months. We loved the location which was quiet and a short walk to Fitz Park and the town centre.

The kitchen was well equipped but much of the crockery, cutlery and utensils were grubby. My husband discovered that the top drawer of the dishwasher was too low so the rotating arm was unable to spin. We raised the top drawer and so the dishwasher worked better and cleaned things properly. The lounge was comfortable but poorly lit if you wanted to read in the evenings. The bathrooms were good, the shower was great although it was pretty hard to turn the temperature down and reading through the guest book this has been mentioned before. The beds were comfortable but the bedroom furniture was lacking and not particularly functional. When we arrived, we were unable to get in to our property as there was some garden maintenance being done. There was no notification of this but we were able to get in to the property about 10 -15 minutes later.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the views! We will ask the Maintenance Team to look into the dishwasher, and the shower. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

The garden was great sitting and relaxing, and letting the dogs roam free safely is such a bonus, some reviews said neighbours rude, but we found them very welcomingand friendly and always stopped for a chat wheneverwe saw them. The only points we did have is that it could do with a deep clean, skirting boards and banister were a grubby, and some utensils could doing with being replaced, such as the can opener and scissors, and unfortunately the bins were collected on the day mentioned, so they were left full for the next guests. But these are only minor points, We will definitely be staying again.

Although we love the cottage, we felt it is in need of a little tlc. Small things such as a decent set of utensils e.g. vegetable peeler, tin opener etc are required. There is a good range of kitchen crockery. Some small things like tea towels, kitchen towel, dish sponge etc weren’t provided. No coal or wood to start you off with the wood burner was provided. The outdoor furniture hasn’t been covered during winter and so the cushions have gone moody and are unusable. The patio is mossy and dangerous to walk on, it needs jet spraying to clean it and the garden needs a good tidy. Some paint coming off bedroom wall. Deep clean throughout needed. With a bit of attention Greengarth could be brought back to the lovely place it always has been.

Property nice a spacious for walking coats and boots etc. Property was nice and clean and had good facilitiessuch as dishwasher and washing machine. Would be helpful if there was at least some salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar in the house. Buying these becomes expensive when you only need a small amount. Bathroom is very dark and bath is very high. It wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. A shower mat in the bath would be helpful as can be slippy. Otherwise Property was lovely and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

  • "Very nice house, the super king double in the front bedroom was really comfortable, plenty of hot water as well."

Just a couple of things, storage in the bedrooms was limited, they seemed to have bought furniture for one room and spread it over two, there was room in the front bedroom for a chest of drawers/dressing table but just had a wardrobe, the back bedroom had that but no wardrobe, the small bedroom had neither! Log burner but no starter pack (I have stayed in places where this is supplied). They ask you to leave the property clean but there are no cleaning supplies (one nearly empty bottle of some sort of anti bacterial stuff under the kitchen sink). There were some loose dishwater tablets left. I have been self catering in the Lakes and various other places for years, this is the first place I have been that there is literally nothing left there for you! Also the drier on the washer dryer isn’t working properly, you might want to get that looked at, everything was coming out hot and wet!

However left feeling a little disappointed this visit, I feel that soft furnishings could do with an update as have been the same for at least 6 years , also a little alarmed on removing bed linen on departure to find pillow and mattress protectors stained , instructions were not to remove them ,surely these should also be removed and replaced after each visit . No cleaning products to use either , maybe some of these issues could be resolved with better housekeeping especially since COVID

The property has two toilets which is very handy for a family. There were some negatives. Next door are renovating their property and we had to remind him to stop hammering and drilling at 10 in the evening. He was very friendly and helpful but we had to ask him twice. The fridge was very poor at cooling and we had to have it on the lowest setting. The pillows were hard and heavy and the duvet in the back bedroom was too high a tog rating for me.
