  • "The location is fantastic with amazing views of the mountains."

It was so peaceful (apart from the nesting Ravens lol). The balcony has been changed since our last visit, so it's now completely enclosed for the dog which is really good. The only negative feedback I can give is that the bed isn't particularly comfortable. The prosecco and chocolate on arrival was a lovely touch.

I am pleased you have enjoyed your stay at Squirrels Leap. I am sorry to hear the bed was uncomfortable for you. The mattress that was purchased was a medium with a topper. I am sorry you felt that this mattress was not to your liking. Property Owner

The weather was not that good when we were there but I could imagine if it was hot it could be unbearable in the lodge - maybe the a fan would be a welcome addition for those rare hot days

  • "The cabin was warm, welcoming and immaculately clean."

Well equipped kitchen in which to prepare an evening meal. Comfortable lounge, enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to the radio. Good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Lovely hot shower. Breakfast on the veranda feeding the birds and looking out on a snow capped skiddaw was restorative. Easy walk into Keswick, plenty of café bars and places to eat. Fish and chips a must after a great day walking up Cat Bells. To conclude, a lovely place to stay. Thank you

  • "Hand on Heart this property was so clean and well presented, and was furnished extremely generously."

It stated dog friendly and we actually felt guilty bringing the dogs inside !! The views are fantastic and although you feel away from any hustle and bustle looking out on the adjacent farmland and classic Cumbria hills, only a short walk down the road we found a warm cosy pub and a few friendly faces, We look forward to coming back.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you soon! Property Owner

  • "The log cabin was exactly as described."

The cleanliness was second to none and everything anyone would need for self catering was provided, even down to washing up liquid and soap in the bathroom. The location was excellent. After a couple of days we discovered an easier and better way to Keswick via the river about a 10 min walk. The Pheasant Inn is nearby and we visited twice while we were there, the food was excellent and we were allowed to take the dog! We spoke to the owners on a couple of occasions and they were very helpful and very friendly. We can highly recommend. Would we return, YES we certainly would.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Our aim is to provide our guests with a warm and clean lodge with everything you need. Along with the most fabulous views of the mountains!!! Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge that was perfect for 2 adults and 2 small dogs."

Very clean and comfortable accomodation. The bath was a bonus to relax in. As was the gate on the veranda that kept our little dogs secure in the property whilst able to go in and out as they pleased. If like us you know you will have an issue keeping your pets off furniture I would advise dog owners to take 2 large throws to cover sofas and a dog crate for the bedroom. This way you can enjoy the holiday without risking any damage or mud to furniture. We covered everything. Location of accomodation to Keswick and surrounding lakes and attractions is great. Easy walk into Keswick for a chip supper. There is a lovely park in Keswick with a river for the evening stroll before bed. Overall a lovely stay...good communication with the person organising your stay. Only negative is the dishwasher was not emptied and therefore it took us ages to find the mugs.

With panoramic views of the Lakeland fells and positioned just a stone's throw away from the town centre, Squirrels Leap makes the perfect spot for a holiday with your better half.

Enjoy the luxuries of this lodge from the moment you step inside, turn on the electric fire in the living room and drink in those countryside views from your patio windows as you rest on one of the sofas.

You may have travelled far and wide to visit this delightful part of the UK, so a glass of wine and time to relax might be just what you need when you arrive.

You can rustle up a lovely meal in the kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob as well as a slimline dishwasher, so you don't have to worry about the washing up afterwards - what a delight!

Catch your rest in the double bedroom once you've had a warm bath to soak your muscles or wake up to a refreshing shower in the morning instead, the Jack-and Jill bathroom has both.

If you love the great outdoors, you will be thrilled to find that the grounds of the lodge are at the foot of Skiddaw and Latrigg fells, and you can even enjoy nature right from your patio where there is a seating area for you to relish a balmy summer's evening.

Keswick has plenty of amenities close by including shops, pubs, its famous Theatre by the Lake and a cinema for those rainier days.

The charming Derwentwater lies to the south of the town and can be accessed via well-maintained footpaths.

There are many easy ‘miles without stiles’ walking routes you can take in the area, as well as many challenging hikes over high peaks.

For those who enjoy skiing, the Lake District Ski Club is just over 6 miles away situated near the top of one of England’s highest mountains and has up to nine runs, the longest being almost a mile.
