The property

Midways is an exceptional house in Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, boasting incredible views across Lake Windermere and towards the surrounding fells, creating a stunning retreat ideal for families and friends seeking a high-quality stay in the Lake District.

As you pull into the spacious parking area, the striking combination of stone and wood immediately sets the scene, and stepping from the car towards the entrance hints at the impressive experience that awaits.

Once inside, you are guided toward the utility room where Lake District walking gear and outdoor layers can be set aside, with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink ready to prepare everything for the following day, while the nearby ground-floor shower room provides a refreshing place to rinse off after time on the fells with its walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Continue into the open-plan living area where polished marble-style flooring enhances the sense of refinement, drawing you through the beautifully crafted kitchen with its sleek white cabinetry, smooth worktops and integrated Miele appliances.

Pendant lighting above the breakfast bar creates a warm focal point for relaxed coffees or evening drinks, and the dining area beneath matching lights offers an inviting setting for meals shared with loved ones.

The sitting area, home to a corner leather sofa and a stylish electric fire, encourages you to unwind, and as you approach the Juliet balconies the elevated position of the house becomes clear, opening to breathtaking views across Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond.

Stepping out onto the rear decking brings fresh air and even wider scenery and steps leading down to the artificial grass and patio provide further places to enjoy morning drinks or alfresco dining.

When it is time to wind down, those preferring fewer stairs can slip into the ground-floor king-size bedroom with its own en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, offering everything on one level.

The first-floor master suite elevates the experience even further with suede carpet underfoot, a Velux window that washes the room with natural light and a beautifully positioned sunken bath that frames remarkable views of lakes and mountains, alongside an en-suite with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The lower-ground floor bedroom provides an inviting hideaway with a super king-size bed, reading space, Smart TV and a Juliet balcony that lets in the crisp Lakeland air, along with an en-suite walk-in shower room.

Outside, the rear decking, artificial grassed area and patio offer several spots to sit and take in the surroundings, with a pub, shop and the lakeshore all within a short journey.

Further exploration leads to wonderful destinations within an hour such as Ambleside, where independent shops, lakeside walking and the dramatic path to Stock Ghyll Force await, or Bowness-on-Windermere, known for its lively pier, eateries and the enchanting Beatrix Potter Attraction, while Grasmere invites you to explore its stone-built charm, taste its famous gingerbread and follow scenic trails that rise to spectacular viewpoints.

Midways in Windermere provides an extraordinary setting where refined design, impressive views and beautifully curated spaces come together for a truly memorable Lake District escape.
