"Comfortable little place situated in beautiful countryside."
Spotlessly clean and well stocked with whatever you may need while there. Absolutely loved seeing the chickens wandering around, and the alpacas and llamas watching us as we took our daily walks down the tree-lined farm track! Julie, the owner, was really kind and answered any query immediately and helpfully. Look forward to returning!
Thank you for your kind comments and as always welcome back anytime

"Lovely cozy cottage."
The wood burning stove was a huge asset as we were there during the recent storm. Comfortable bed.
The cottage is very rural so keep that in mind. But if you’re looking for a “ get away from it all” break it’s perfect.
Only negative for us was the lack of cooking facilities ( only a halogen one ring hob, a microwave and a toaster) we stayed for a week so it was more challenging.
If you’re only staying for a couple of nights it won’t be a problem.
Thank you for your comments. The cottage is in a rural location so guests can enjoy a peaceful break.

"Great Little place."
Cosy and very convenient for all the Hadrians Wall sites.
Does need a little deck, table and two chairs out the front to sit outside with a cup of tea. Otherwise -perfect
Glad you liked staying in the Duck House and thank you for your suggestion of providing outdoor furniture

"Unfortunately no cooker, so I couldn't whip up a delicious meal."
As always we took a couple of Pizzas for a quick meal on arrival, but had to refreeze them and bring them home. One description stated fully equipped kitchen. I enjoy cooking when self catering, but had to adapt to using a table top induction hob and small microwave/grill. Slept well, but a freestanding cooker wouldn't go amiss. If possible please emphasize that these are basic kitchen facilities.

"The Duck House was a perfect get away, clean and cozy."
The bed was so comfy and the linen felt lovely. The property was quite remote but perfect for exploring Hadrians wall and other roman sites nearby. The countryside was stunning! I can't fault anything from our stay

"A lovely stay with lots of walks close by."
It was a perfect, remote place for us to stay over the new year to avoid the fireworks for our nervous dog. The fire was a perfect addition to make the cottage even cosier.

"We had a lovely stay."
The cottage was decorated in a nice, simple way. It accommodated for our Springer spaniel. The wood burner was a big selling point for us, making it very cosy in the dark nights

"The property was private and cozy even though it's on the site of a working family farm."
That was actually one of our favorite parts, it felt like we were part of the countryside/community for a couple days. And we loved saying hello to the dogs and alpacas/llamas. We visited on a chilly weekend, so definitely use the space heaters provided if you get cold easily. We only used the wood stove (on purpose) and though that heats the living area so well and was extremely cozy, it was a little chilly in the bedroom without the heater on. Again, we did that on purpose, but not all like that. Our hosts were lovely the couple times we saw them and they were super responsive to texts - for example when we needed more kindling or teabags. The surrounding countryside was gorgeous and the inn/restaurant just down the road (The Crossings Inn) was great and so close by. It's also in Hadrian's Wall country. We loved it.
