  • "Lovely studio apartment, very well-appointed with super comfy bed and superior decor."

    Unfortunately, it is let down by a lack of sound proofing and the noise from the main house above can be intrusive. The water drainage from the main house is also loud and we lost water pressure in the shower a couple of times. Being a basement flat, it can also smell a bit musty. Such a shame as it is beautifully presented.

    Dear Fiona Thank you for your feedback and for your lovely comments about the Studio, particularly the décor and comfortable bed. We’re sorry that some aspects affected your stay. Park View is an older traditional property and, while we have invested considerably in reducing sound transfer, some noise can unfortunately remain. We have also installed a dedicated pump to improve water pressure and will have this checked following your comments. As a lower-ground-floor apartment, we have taken particular care with natural airflow, including installing a stable-style entrance door which allows fresh air in while maintaining privacy. As owners, we put a great deal of thought and investment into Park View and genuinely want our guests to enjoy their time there. Although the property is managed for us locally, we would always encourage guests to raise any concerns during their stay so there is an opportunity to help where possible. Guest feedback is incredibly important to a small property like ours, and we’re very grateful that you also highlighted how much you enjoyed the comfort, décor and presentation of the Studio. Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside with its numerous shops makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and the lakeside at Waterhead with parkland offering lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach. A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
