    Tranquil with amazing walks. Very well equipped kitchen & comfort beds & lounge. Owner very responsive to any queries & very friendly. Great to have the Fleece Inn nearby - walking distance from property. It is an award winning, superb gastro pub.

  • "We had a great stay at Hudson, driving up to the property past the hall certainly has the wow factor."

    We loved being able to walk around the 100+ acres of grounds, through gardens and fields down the the river, spotting hares and deer. It is a very underrated part of the country, easily as pretty as the Lake District but without the tourists. The cottage was clean and modern, we enquired if there was a freezer and were told only a small compartment in the fridge but on arrival we found a small desktop freezer had been setup, not sure if that is as standard but it was appreciated. The local pub is walkable distance and has excellent food. We had days out at Lancaster, Morecambe & Heysham. Bike riding and walking from the cottage door was great. There was good communication from the owners. I would recommend Hudson and would consider staying here again if visiting the area.

  • "We are regular visitors to the cottages, the Hudson is our favourite."

    Only slight criticism would be the doors to the garden are not draft proof. Not a problem with n summer though. We had a wonderful stay as usual.

  • "The cottage is lovely and in a stunning setting."

    The only reasons for not giving 5 stars is I feel, to make it suitable for families with very young children it requires stair gates to be available or fitted due to the sitting room being upstairs. The blind cords are also very long and not in safety clips. These are only small issues and did not spoil our stay. The owner was very helpful allowing us to take our own stair gate it just meant extra luggage space which is tight when travelling with a young child

  • "The property was wonderful."

    It was a pleasure to return to it at the end of the day driving through the grounds and pass the big house. We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets and starry dark skies. The house provided for all we needed. Comfortable beds, big well stocked kitchen, in a super quiet location. But more impressive was the helpful and quick response when one of the alarms bleeped to indicate a battery replacement. We felt very well supported. Lots in easy driving distance to entertain us including fleetwood, lancaster, the beautiful trough of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. Super holiday destination.

  • "I recently stayed at Hudson Cottage, and it exceeded all expectations."

    The photographs don't do it justice. The place is immaculate, with no expense spared in its renovation. Everything feels modern yet cozy, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The grounds are beautifully maintained, providing a serene and relaxing environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, luxury retreat!

  • "A very beautiful place with extensive grounds."

    Good for walking the dog. The cottage was spacious, stylish and comfortable with plenty of bathrooms. Checking in and out was very easy. It is remote, and you will need a car to buy food etc, but that wasn’t a problem for us.

  • "The first impression of Hudson was WOW!"

    This was beautiful and well appointed. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. We tried very hard to get the TV to work but it didn’t. All it did was buffer. The WiFi signal was very weak and kept dropping out for our phones too. We spent time looking at leaflets on places to go, then realised they hadn’t been updated since 2018. We couldn’t get the info on our phones to follow them up. The sitting room was upstairs and was comfortable. Apart from the sharp nail that stuck up through a dining room chair. I did tell the maintenance man about it. We were told there was a washing machine we could use. We hunted! Eventually our neighbour form Bilboa showed us where it was. It is located in a shipping container in a fenced area that looked locked. It really needed to be made clear in the information book where it was. I had phoned in advance about using the washing machine and was told it was in the annex! Likewise it would be good to know how the hob worked.It should have been stated in the information folder. It took ages to work it out. We love the location. The grounds are amazing and it is well located for the Lake District and the West Coast. Places to eat would include The Fleece, The Applestore, Daisy Clough Nurseries and The Barn. Amazing ice-cream at The Barn, one scoop is huge!
