  • "A beautifully presented bungalow for the family."

From the moment we stepped in, it felt very inviting and homely. We were more than comfortable and the property was very clean. We were greeted with some supplies in the kitchen which was very appreciated and the kids loved all the tv's (especially the one in the bathroom!) Within 30mins to an hour we could travel to many of the Cumbria hotshots and enjoyed the scenic views on the way. We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend.

which are very handy for us arriving somewhat late on check-in day. We'd suggest extending the check-out time to 11 am (instead of current 10 am) to have less stressful morning.

It was spotlessly clean but warm and welcoming too and was near enough to the lakes for us to drive to,all in all,an excellent property and we would definitely like to stay here again.

  • "Cottage was just as described, plenty of room and ideal location, very quiet apart from birds which was delightful."

Lovely decor/furnishings and very clean. It would benefit from more cutlery as it meant we had to put the dishwasher on twice a day or wash them by hand! A small little detail and slightly inconvenient. Local pub/restaurant was lovely.

  • "Fantastic, quiet location, two minutes walk to quaint country pub."

The property has a lovely log burner to sit and relax after day exploring countryside. Short distance to Appleby with good butchers and bakery. Fish and chip shop in Appleby, great for day of arrival. All in all, everything you would want in a base to explore, the Lake District. Would certainly visit again.

V over the bath! The owners left a generous welcome pack for us and were in touch in case we needed help with anything which was very much appreciated. Bolton is a very nice village and The New Crown Inn is a minutes walk away where we were welcomed very warmly by the bar staff/ regulars and enjoyed some tasty meals!. I highly recommend this property to everyone!

The quality of the fixtures and fittings were superb and there wasn't anything that we were in need of. We used it as a base from which to visit long established friends. We hope to repeat the experience again next year but hopefully to stay for longer. Our thanks go out to all the parties who enabled our stay to be so enjoyable.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. We are pleased you had a great stay and we would love to welcome you back again next year! Property Owner

  • "We recently booked Cornerways for our 21st wedding anniversary and glad we did."

It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the pictures really don't do this place justice. A short throw to Appleby which has some nice little shops and eateries and only an hours drive to Morecombe Bay which has a stunning bay to visit. We don't usually revisit the same cottages but we would certainly go back to Crossways.

Thank you for the great feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back again in the future! Hope you both had lovely anniversary celebrations :-) Property Owner

Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 dogs, the cottage was spacious, extremely clean and immaculately presented, we loved the large kitchen diner which was accessed from the very comfortable lounge, the cottage is very cosy and warm.We had a meal in the local pub, approx 3 minute walk away, and the food was excellent. We visited Lowther Castle, Pooley Bridge and Penrith, and there are also local Parish walks. We had a lovely week, thank you.

Conservatory had only seating for 2 people. As our party consisted of 4 adults we all thought it was excellent for 2 people but could do with a few little additions to bring the property up to 1st class for 4 adults.

Although the Eden Valley is a bit of a drive away from the most well-known attractions of the Lake District, it is a very attractive area in itself, with beautiful scenery and good pub restaurants. • "Our holiday cottage FAR exceeded our expectations."

It was warm, clean, very well furnished and smelt lovely! There was fresh milk, bread, butter, tea, sugar and coffee plus a bottle of white wine to welcome us. The log burner had been laid and there was a big basket of logs, kindling and even newspaper. The beds were very comfy, even the pillows! The enclosed rear garden was a bonus as we had no worries about our two little dogs escaping. Try as we might, we could find nothing that the owners hadn’t provided! Even the neighbours were friendly. And then there’s the extra bonus of the beautiful Lake District. My daughter and I had a wonderful week away and I can’t praise 3 Graham’s Rigg highly enough.

About the location

Penrith 14 miles.

The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland lies in a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Lake District Fells showing on the western horizon. Set at the heart of the lush Eden Valley and steeped in history, this is one of the loveliest towns in the north of England and was originally the county town of Westmorland. Appleby is nestled between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales, so guests can enjoy the contrasting scenery of these two National Parks, plus numerous walking and cycling opportunities as well as the fantastic leisure centre in the town. Appleby has a wonderful selection of quality independent shops, cafes and delicatessens selling locally produced food and crafts. The picturesque street of Boroughgate, with some interesting old buildings, is at the heart of the town and links the well-preserved Norman Castle with the fine medieval Church of St. Lawrence. Appleby is a major stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, which is one of the most beautiful railway journeys in Britain, and still today many of the old steam trains wend their way along this line and over the historic and awe-inspiring Ribblehead viaduct. With the delightful Ullswater and the magnificent Lake District within easy reach, this is an ideal holiday location.
