• "Another lovely stay in this lodge."

  It is very clean with lovely comfortable beds. We received a lovely welcome pack. The lodge has plenty books, magazines and DVD's if you want them. It is nice & close to the lake. We received the wrong code for the gate via email but we were quickly allowed in through the barrier.

• "Our 14th. rented lodge on this site, over a lot of years."

  This now our favourite. The "Goodie Bag" always appreciated, thank you. One negative - half a bread loaf and packet of bagels left in cupboard.

• "Wow! 5* Highly recommended!"

  Westbrook Lodge was immaculate, only two minutes from the lake and had everything you could possibly need for a self catering staycation. The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise thank you so much! The owners obviously take a great pride in providing a high quality experience for guests. The site was lovely too and only a 5 to 10 minute walk into the centre of Bowness. A great little shop on site and The Willow Bar was fab for a drink on the way back after a nice day out. Staff were very friendly and service was good. We would love to return to Westbrook Lodge again!

• "We have gone to Westbrooke Lodge for the last 3yrs, but what concerned me this time was the state of the pillows in our bedroom, I never realised until I stripped the bed before leaving, they were all stained and not good pillows, if I had seen the state of them before we left I would have had to go out to shop for new ones, they didn't even have pillow protectors on?"

  ?? God knows what we could have picked up lying on those filthy pillows. I still cringe thinking about it.

  We are so sorry to read this review, particularly from a returning guest. We have provided pillow protectors which have obviously gone missing and we were unaware of the condition of the pillows as we have been unable to visit the lodge this year. We have got a free day today and we will drive up this afternoon with new pillows and protectors. We realise that this doesn’t change your experience and we can only apologise sincerely, we pride ourselves on the condition and the cleanliness of the lodge. Property Owner

• "This property was immaculate."

  Beautifully sited in the park. This is situated on a 5 star site and is very quiet and tranquil. 1 min from the lakes edge! We had a lovely welcome pack left for us of tea, coffee milk etc, which was highly appreciated. If I had any little thing to say about comfort it was that there were no extra pillows or blankets for the beds. The sofas are very low so be aware if you have problems getting up and down. I have to say that I would not hesitate to go back again and recommend it to anyone. We had a wonderful time. The park is in walking distance from the Windermere cruise

• "Westbrook Lodge is amazing."

  It was easy to gain entry to the Parkdean site on arrival, with a barrier code from reception. There was ample parking for two vehicles with steps up to, and a gate on to the deck. The vestibule/utility area as you enter the lodge itself was ideal for storing coats, bags and shoes, and meant the lodge didn't feel cluttered with our "stuff". The kitchen area is gorgeous and very well equipped. There was more at the lodge than we were expecting e.g.; tea towels, oven gloves, tin foil, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, cloths, spare bin bags, hand wash etc. There were also a couple of dishwasher tablets and condiments (e.g.; salt, pepper, vinegar). It's hard to say whether these items are usually included or had been left by previous guests because the checklist we received with our booking confirmation said for us to pack most of those items - it was a nice surprise. We found everything easy to use and the instruction manual/quick start guide was easy to follow. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We travelled as a couple, and so we didn't use bedroom’s 2 or 3, but they were all good sized rooms (two doubles, one twin) with storage and wall-mounted TV's. It's unusual to be able to say there were lots of coat hangers - but there really were. And having two bathrooms was a real treat (with the ensuite being bigger than our bathroom at home!). The Parkdean site itself was lovely and quiet with a short walk to the lake. There are plenty of rubbish bin and recycling points around the park. Bowness-on-Windermere itself is a 5-7 minute walk away and ideal for the shops, bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed seeing the town come alive in the evenings whilst enjoying a cocktail (perhaps two?) in the Fizzy Tarte, and there are a couple of fish & chip shops (amongst other takeaways and amenities) if you didn't want to eat out, but didn't fancy cooking either. We would definitely stay here again.

• "This is by far the best holiday lodge we’ve ever stayed in."

  Beautiful interiors, really well equipped and a lovely touch with the tasteful Xmas decorations. Also, the welcome pack of essentials for us was very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend and we’ll be booking again in the future.

  The lodge was excellent tastefully decorated cosy and high class we were greeted with a lovely goody bag and some Christmas decorations and a lovely tree, we did get hit with the heavy snow storm 2nd Dec and the power went off on the site so we were snowed in for a while but the lodge was so homely we just had to ride out the storm

• "What a shame!"

  Such a beautiful lodge in beautiful surroundings let down by its maitenance and upkeep. Dirty radiator and window ledges in main bedroom. The cooker was dirty and clearly had not had a proper clean for ages. The freezer was too iced up so was not fully useable. An aray of various tools were left on the floor in the boiler room. Overall the internal aspects fell very short of what we are used to finding in a Sykes property. Photographs of these problem areas are available if required. Whilst there we had two separate power cuts. There was no sign of a torch. For a cost of £800 + we would have expected a far better standard. We hope Sykes can look into this situation and get back to us with some satisfactory findings as we have another holiday booked with you in January. As advised above photographs are available.

• "Plug in bath not working correctly, also water in main bedroom washbasin was slow to empty."

  Very disappointed no welcome pack this time, I appreciate cost have increased but it would have been nice to be forewarned then we could have come prepared, otherwise as usual super lodge, our second time this year, see you February.

Regarding the welcome pack, I am sorry you were disappointed but unfortunately the farm shop that we used to supply the items is no longer willing to deliver to Fallbarrow as we were the only lodge on the park who used them. • "Westbrook is a lovely comfortable, spotless lodge."

  The lodge is well equipped with everything you need for a break away from home. The bedrooms are all a good size with comfortable beds. The location is ideal, close to the shore of lake Windermere and also a short walk from shops & resteraunts.

  Fantastic lodge in a good location. Absolutely flawless. The park also seams to have upgraded the wifi so that was a bonus as there is now a decent signal from the lodge. We will definitely be back.

• "What a beautiful clean lodge we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back."

  Ideally situated for Bowness on Windermere. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the restaurant, not great food and abysmal service, my husband had to go up go the kitchen area to collect our food which had been stood for some time.

  It is stunning and everything is so well thought out which makes it a perfect home away from home! The gift hamper is a fantastic touch, which was totally unexpected but totally appreciated x we have stayed in Fallbarrow Park before so knew what the site had to offer, but for anyone considering visiting it is brill for couples (as we were) or families as there is something for everyone and the lodge is perfect for either. We will be re booking again later in the year. Thank you again for making our first break away in 3 years stress free

• "The lodge was perfect in every way."

  The only problem which we found out after arriving was there was no Wi-Fi at all on the camp , would have liked a dust pan and brush or something to pick bits off the floor, would definitely book again , the welcome pack was a lovely bonus

• "The lodge was stunning and spotless."

  The owner must have good taste as the sink , kettle and toaster were the same as ours lol . Fallbarrow is perfect to for walking into the town . I would definitely recommend Westbrook lodge you won’t be disappointed. Will use again if we are down in Windermere.

• "Lovely lodge although quite dark inside the lodge during the day."

  A few minor issues (fan in en suite stopped working, small window in kitchen could not be opened, no bath mat in en suite, no bin in house bathroom, no gate from the decking area to the rear of the property, & no vacuum cleaner) but overall a pleasant stay.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Westbrook Lodge and we are already thinking about when we can return."

  This was our second stay at Fallbarrow Park so we knew what to expect from the site, which we love. Westbrook was very impressive. A practically brand new, immaculate lodge, furnished in a tasteful and modern way. A luxurious home from home with a glimpse of the lake from the kitchen/lounge. We appreciated the care and thought which had been used to equip the lodge - nothing had been overlooked! Whilst there, we wished we had booked to stay longer but we will definitely return! • "Overall brilliant holiday."

  The lodge was amazing and very close to everything which was great. The only downfall was the WiFi which we couldn’t get working properly. We rung someone about it who told us they would ring back to sort but never did.

  A beautiful lodge in a good situation on the Fallbarrow site . The hamper on arrival was a lovely surprise with good quality products from a nearby farm shop . We had a lovely 4 night stay and will be back again this year . Arrival and departure process was easy .
