  • "The property is absolutely gorgeous."

We had a wonderful time celebrating my mum in laws 70th birthday with the family. (12 of us ages 4 to 78) The groceries pack was lovely and an unexpected surprise. The garden is lovely and well maintained. The house is very well equipped and had everything that we needed. A really fantastic place to stay

  • "Enjoyed a week in January at the Low house celebrating a 60th birthday."

All the family were accommodated in this lovely property situated a short drive from Bowness/Windermere. We had 12 people from aged 2 yrs to 60yrs all with their own space in this excellent house. Property is spotlessly clean and lovely comfortable beds. Everything such as bedding towels etc were all good quality. Very well equipped and set up to a high standard with a lovely welcome package on arrival. Would definitely return in the future and can highly recommend for large families wanting to stay in a lovely property in a nice rural setting for a social gathering. We found the property much larger than we expected and more than enough space. 5* all round.

  • "The house was lovely, the scenery spectacular and we had a lovely time."

Three small niggles.....:1) It felt penny-pinching to find each bathroom had only 2 loo rolls! There was a cupboard in the utility with plenty of spare towels - we didn't need any - towels were in abundance, but no spare loo rolls. Plenty of good quality kitchen equipment to use but loo rolls were restricted!?! 2) The teaspoons were heavily out numbered by the other cutlery! Knives, forks, desert spoons aplenty, but you need to get some more teaspoons. I think there were only about 6 or 7! 3). Again it felt a bit mean, given the high quality of provision in all other respects, that there wasn't a small pack of kindling and a few logs for an initial fire. As it happens, one of our party had brought some logs and kindling, but it seemed odd that there was a nice tray of coffee, tea, fruit loaf etc., in the kitchen (much appreciated), but not a small starter pack for a fire.

Dear Michael, I am pleased to hear you had a lovely stay. However, I am sorry to hear you had some niggles. As the owner I am always available during a stay to help and offer support but I did not hear from you. Usually we do not supply toilet rolls in every bathroom to cover the full stay (only the initial few days), however if you had reached out I would happily have gotten more supplied to you. Thank you for your comments on our teaspoons. I will have some more purchased. Clearly we have had some go missing so I will get them replaced. We have a log store next to the house (not locked) that we are happy for guests to use free of charge through the winter, especially for that first fire. We also supply all the fire starters etc to guests. I will check the stock levels for these. I am sorry that was not sufficient. With best regards, The Low House. Property Owner

It is such a beautiful house with lots of space. There were eleven of us and it still is possible to find somewhere quiet if you want to. The gardens are ideal for the children to run around and hobnob with the sheep next door!

  • "Amazing home, perfect for large gatherings in a beautiful setting."

We spent a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend at this gorgeous house which has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The house is even larger than it appears from the photos so there is plenty of space for a everyone in a large group to be comfortable and find their own space if needed. The bedrooms are also super comfy with lovely bed linens and towels. There are a number of nice pubs nearby and lovely walks from the house . It is quite remote so come prepared as we did with plenty of food and drink if you don’t want to venture out again to the shops. In a word - stunning!
