  • "Very warm & welcoming, heating was on when we arrived."

The cottage is old with quirky character and internally very 1950-1960 style. the kitchen well equipped, rooms comfortable, good sized bathroom although it could do with more hooks for hanging towels & clothes plus shelving to put our toiletries on. Cottage within easy short walking distance into Coniston.

  • "Lovely character cottage perfect for our visit, parking wasn’t a problem we always found a space for our two cars."

Highly recommend the crown inn for food . Good bus route for when you don’t want to take the car!

Thank-you for your positive feedback and we are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Positives Location to Coniston centre."

Very convenient and parking fairly close to accommodation. Comfy and warm. Facilities are sufficient. Enough plates, glasses etc. TV and internet connection all worked fine. Negatives It's quite damp and the short stay was okay. I think a longer stay would have been a challenge for our breathing. The cleanliness could be much better.

Thank-you for your feedback, I am glad you were warm and everything was working. I am sorry about the cleanliness and I will feed this back to our cleaners. We hope you enjoyed your time in Cumbria. Property Owner

  • "Not the best cottage we have booked through Sykes, then you get what you pay for."

Furnishing a bit dated. Could not access the Wi-Fi, rear bedroom windows were locked with no key available.

We are sorry that you could not unlock the windows, the key should have been available. We will look into this, thank-you for highlighting this. The furnishing is as shown in the photographs. We are sorry about the problems with the wi-fi, this was beyond our control and the first time there has been any issues with it. Property Owner

  • "What a lovely cottage."

We were there when it was snowing outside and we were toasty warm. Didn’t even need the hot water bottles we had brought. Coniston is such a beautiful location. We had a fantastic time cuddling the herdwick sheep at Yew Tree Farm! The host Jo was so informative about the history of farming in this part of the world and how Beatrix Potter was such an important part of history. It was an unforgettable experience. Also, I can’t recommend enough the cafe in the village called Herdwicks. The food was amazing. In addition, I left a really important bag in the cottage and the owners posted it back to me very quickly. If you are thinking of booking this cottage or any of these experiences, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank-you for you lovely feedback. I am so pleased your property got back to you quickly and safely, and that you enjoyed you stay. Property Owner

Overall the cottage is very nice and comfortable. A beautiful location. There are a couple of things that need attention. A coffee table in the lounge and shelves in the bathroom. This is not a criticism as we did enjoy our stay

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your suggestions. We have installed a coffee table and are looking a at shelves. Property Owner
