“Dale House Farm Cottage is the perfect destination for a relaxed walking getaway.”

You can walk the 3 peaks directly from the house or travel easily to other local attractions. The property was exceptionally clean with all the facilities we needed. The views from the property are amazing and it was lovely to see the farm animals nearby. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to come back next year.

The property

Chapel-le-Dale 1.6 miles.

This delightful semi-detached barn conversion is surrounded by its own fields in dramatic open countryside, on the owner's working livestock farm near Chapel-le-Dale.

Set in a most enviable location in the valley between Ingleborough and Whernside, this lovely cottage provides an ideal location to get away from it all and unwind with family and friends.

Fully renovated, this attractive holiday home enjoys a beautiful hillside location with breathtaking views from every room in the house, including exceptional views of the limestone scarring, so evident in this corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

Individually styled to make the very best of the existing features of old beams and exposed stonework, there is also a liberal sprinkling of the modern luxuries, such as underfloor heating, walk-in showers and en-suites to all bedrooms.

The ground floor kitchen with dining area is a real delight with great views across the meadows and the grazing stock, plus the odd hen.

There is a spacious dining area, a modern well-equipped kitchen and a woodburner.

The sitting room has ample seating, a flat screen TV, and is a great place to recover after a testing day out on the Three Peaks Challenge.

The first floor boasts two double bedrooms, and a third double-height room with a king-size double bedroom and twin beds on a mezzanine floor, and en-suite with shower and bath.

One of the double bedrooms also has a Juliet balcony to enjoy the views towards Ingleborough.

The top floor has a spacious family room with four single beds and an en-suite shower, an ideal room for the kids to get together and enjoy a little privacy.

Outside this lovely cottage are open fields that belong to the property where you can sit, wander, barbecue or laze by the river that runs through the land; relax with a refreshing drink or dine alfresco.

Nearby Ingleton offers an excellent range of amenities, including pubs, shops and restaurants, whilst walkers are spoilt for choice with the excellent network of trails in the area.

The famous Settle-Carlisle railway line runs across the nearby Ribblehead Viaduct and there is no greater sight than a steam train powering its way across the landscape.

Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale and Skipton are all within a short drive, whilst the Forest of Bowland offers a wide range of unspoilt landscapes and visitor facilities.

A great location for family and friends to meet up and enjoy country living at its very best!

About the location

Ingleton 6 miles; Hawes 10 miles; Settle 11 miles.

Situated in the heart of the famous Three Peaks, Chapel-le-Dale is a small hamlet consisting of the Ribblehead Viaduct, a railway station, a famous pub and a scattering of small farms and dwellings. The surrounding countryside of Ribblesdale is magnificent, offering the ideal location for fell walking, with the famous Three Peaks Walk, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough offering some of the most challenging walks in the country. The famous Settle to Carlisle Railway passes through the hamlet and has some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. The Ribblehead Viaduct, completed in 1870 is a magnificent structure and the sight of a steam train passing across the top is one not to be missed. The attractive village of Ingleton offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The centre of the village is pretty with narrow and winding streets, centered on a tiny market place. The village's well known White Scar Caves (a short walk away) are open to the public and have a dazzling display of stalactites and stalagmites, caverns and a huge underground lake. The Ingleton Water Falls Trail is a short walk downstream. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Hawes and Malham, as well as Kirkby Lonsdale and beautiful Dentdale. The entire Yorkshire Dales National Park is on the doorstep; Lake Windermere in the Lake District is also only a 40 minute drive.
