  • "A very cosy, comfortable house."

The welcome from Leanne was just right. Warm, friendly and approachable. Perfect. The games room was a huge hit with the whole family. Tournaments organised every evening before settling down to watch a film in the very comfortable tv room. A great house for a family get together.

  • "Wow, was our first reaction."

A beautifully maintained house with so much space inside and outside. Being such a large property we were able to have a parents and children wing, while the rest of the family had a quiet wing! It didn't matter that the weather wasn't great, as the children had enough room to play. The children enjoyed feeding the chickens and collecting eggs. It was lovely having play equipment on site, along with secure grounds to explore. The added extras of a games room, hot tub and sauna make it an outstanding property. Leanne was so helpful and oversees things to maintain the property at a high standard. Every holiday letting should have a Leanne overseeing things. Thank you for making it such a memorable holiday. We look forward to a return stay.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the property, it was large enough for all of us and situated in a lovely place."

The amenities in the property were mostly good, however the games room was a bit tired with some broken items which made it difficult to use them e.g. pool & snooker table. On the one occasion when the hot tub didn't seem to be working action was taken immediately. We only used the tennis court on one or two occasions as it was covered in leaves and needed a good clean. Bedrooms were very comfortable and large in size. There were plenty of things for our 4 year old daughter to do at the property, she particularly loved the chickens! Property was very clean on arrival and we appreciated the little extras like milk and strawberries that were left. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

So much space and more than comfortable. Everything you could wish for. The grounds are also so beautiful. Our 2 dogs had the best time exploring every corner. We had fresh eggs every day too. Hot tub and sauna were another treat. Leanne was on hand to help with any minor issues and even left us a welcome box of goodies. Recommend anyone who’s considering booking this wonderful place.

  • "Fence House was the perfect venue for our family of 14 to celebrate a special anniversary."

We were aged 9 to 80 and there was something for everyone whatever the weather. The games room was very popular as was the hot tub, sauna and cinema room. We loved feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. If the weather had been better we would have spent more time on outdoor activities in the vast grounds but there is so much to do at Fence House. The large tables in the diningroom and kitchen/diner enabled us to eat together. The bedrooms were spacious and storage was excellent. Leanne was on hand to ensure a perfect break.

We had a lovely stay for a 40th get together (8 adults 7 kids aged from 5 to 16). The space in the property is amazing with different break out areas for all to utilise. The games room is a nice addition and was used by all the family and there was plenty for everyone to be doing something during our stay. The pictures really do not do the house justice with how magnificent the property is. We hosted my mothers 60th birthday with a party ranging from 3 to 65, and the house catered perfectly for everyone. The house is very clean, but also has a real homely feel. Leanne, the host is incredibly helpful and was eager to meet all of our needs. The chickens laid eggs daily which you are encouraged to eat- delicious. Thank you for a perfect stay- strongly recommend booking here! Hayley & David

There are lots of footpaths close to the house and also a fishing lake a few minutes away. • "We had such an amazing week at Fence house."

We loved the space, what all the rooms had to offer and the feeling of all being together as a family for my partners 40th birthday. The hot tub was incredible, we had plenty of wood (sorry we used so much- it was the coldest week of the year by far I think!) so the fires were burning and the hot tub was a real treat too! The games room was a really nice addition, but we didn’t really use it as there was no heating in there and it was freezing. I believe this is being rectified though, which is great- as it’s certainly a real asset to the house. We enjoyed the cinema room, snuggling by the fire, and all cooking together in the big kitchen. Leanne was amazing from start to finish. She was on hand, really helpful and made our stay super special. Thank you, we’d love to come back again in the future.

Leanne - the owner is wonderful, always on hand to answer questions and provide information as with it being winter, it took a lot longer for the hot tub to heat up for us, but Leanne straight away gave advice and was on call. We mainly used the cinema room and kitchen areas, but loved the option of all the living areas. The games room was such a bonus for a miserable day outside, and I would recommend the property without hesitation. Big shout out to Leanne who was so helpful throughout. If we were to give small constructive feedback, lighting would be useful on way to games room, and the back door could do with a door mat as there were a few muddy boots! Loved it though!

The detail and photographs do not do it justice and it is a wonderful place for any family get together. All the bedrooms are wonderful and the addition of the 'bunk bed' room is great for the kids. The kitchen has everything you need and there are plenty of quiet spots if you want to hide away with a book for a rest. When we stayed the weather was glorious so we could take full advantage of the lovely gardens and hot tub and it is one of those rare places where you can let the little ones run free knowing that they cannot do much harm to anything else or themselves. All in all a wonderful place to spend a family break. We will be back!

  • "Myself and 11 family members stayed in this cottage for my husbands 30th birthday celebrations."

The cottage was immaculate, cosy, warm and just as described. The cottage is stunning, big and comfy. It’s nice to go somewhere and have the towels, bin bags, sponges, bins, cleaning utilities and all the cups, pans and glasses we would require etc. I’ve even brought the same plates as there’s as we love them lol. The grounds are lovely to walk around and the hot tub was the added touch. It did take a day to warm up pretty much but we did go in March. That could not put a downer on the stay as we was blown away by how clean and beautiful the cottage is. We ordered take away and the drivers needed directing to find the cottage (just like we did) as it’s a little off a main road and the satnav just took us to the main road so we have put balloons on the signs outside so hopefully this will help any future guests and it did help our delivery drivers lol. This still isn’t a negative just help for anyone staying in the future. The cottage has 6 double rooms (big double rooms) and 1 bunk bed room and 1 single room (just literally a bed with no room for anything else) but yet again, not a negative as the cottage is huge so if someone doesn’t want these rooms take a blow up bed lol. We went to a little pub walking distance away (about 15 mins walk) which was lovely and we got to see the sheep on the way there and back. The cottage had a lovely old but modern feel to it, I will be going back and staying again! Don’t hesitate, just book. 10/10!!
