"We had a great time at The Stables, Trawden."
The owner, Andrew, gave us a full tour of the house on arrival, showing us where everything was located. If we had any queries, Andrew lived next door. The accommodation suited us fine and was located in the village. The location was ideal as we were intending doing a lot of walking. I would recommend the Stables to others.
Thanks
Vince & Sheila
Thanks very much for your kind review. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday. Yes Trawden is a great place for walking from the door and beyond. Fortunately the weather turned out better than forecast and you dodged what rain thre was. The village pub, shop and cafe cater well for guests.

"This place was amazing!"
The stables is such a modern design and is so beautiful. Location is perfect too - there is a lovely pub about 2 minutes down the road and loads of places within 10/20 minutes drive! Andrew was so accommodating and allowed us to check out later which was an added bonus! We absolutely loved our stay and will return soon!
Thanks very much for your generous feedback. We are fortunate to be situated in a lovely area on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. Our village has several community owned facilities available to residents and guests alike.
I look forward to welcoming you again soon.

"This is our second time staying here hence why we returned."
Spotlessly clean. Andrew was on hand to welcome us but stayed a discreet distance during our stay. Ideally located. Nice garden for our dog to run around in and enough room to park safely. Would thoroughly recommend.
Thanks very much for your kind review. I was glad to welcome you back this year.
I am usually on hand to meet and greet and try to be available if needed without interrupting my guests' stay.

"Lovely place tucked away at the top of the hill in Trawden."
Comfortable bed, and nice shower, kitchen is well kitted out for all your meals. Parking is tricky,2 very narrow entrances to get to your parking spot, which you need to reverse into.
Many thanks for your review which I appreciate. The parking is dictated by the Victorian architect who designed the house to accommodate the incumbent's horse and trap in the Stables. Not much I can do I am afraid.
As far as I am aware you did manage the parking very well.

"Great property."
2nd time staying. Very warm and cosy. Lovely to have 2 showers and 3 toilets…one being down stairs. Quiet place. Amenities very good. Village has its volunteer run shop, post offiice , library, shop is very well stocked and wants for nothing. Further shops in Colne. Andrew the owner is super nice …he leaves his number if there are any issues…. After 2 visits we still don’t an issue. We are planning a 3rd stay for spring if availability allows. Lovely place and you won’t be disappointed
Thanks for your lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to see you both again this year and I look forward to welcoming you back next year. Yes our village facilities are very good and community owned and run. My adult grandchildren have cottoned on and are regular visitors as well.

"We arrived to the property and the owner was in the home which he admitted had not been cleaned as his 'help' had not arrived."
There were hairs in the ensuite sink, crumbs and dog hairs throughout the entire property and the kitchen sink and worktops had not been cleaned. The ensuite shower cannot be used as the water does not get hot. The barbecue had not been cleaned. There is a broken chair on the patio which cannot be used as it isn't safe. There was a blockage within the manhole cover which caused the downstairs to become flooded via the toilet with waste water soaking into the carpet. The owner left us to clean this up after the flood and did not check on us at all after he had arranged for the blockage to be cleared. We were charged for the drainage company costs and money taken from our account without our consent. The blockage was blamed on us with no proof that we had done anything to cause it
Thank you for writing this review, I was very disappointed to read your feedback. I was in the Stables just completing the preparation myself for your arrival. I was not aware what time you were arriving. The property had been vacuumed and the work surfaces cleaned. I would have gladly carried out a further clean had you contacted me to request this. Likewise, I would have shown you how to increase the temperature of the shower from its standard pre-set status. The barbecue was clean but inevitably shows natural signs of use. The garden chair has also been replaced; one small slat was broken. Your wife contacted me on Wednesday evening to tell me the downstairs toilet was overflowing with a combination of toilet and shower waste. She agreed she had been flushing baby wipes which were quite visible. I managed to halt the overflow with a plunger and then summoned an emergency drainage engineer who was able to clear the blockage in the dedicated pipe from the toilet to the manhole. He again noted wipes were present. You have his report as evidence of this. I then provided towels and sheets to soak up the overflow and left a dehumidifier to dry out the carpet overnight. I looked for you the following afternoon to check but unfortunately you were out.
You left the following morning without returning the key personally as most guests do. This usually gives an early opportunity for feedback. Had I seen you before you left, I would have advised you that I would contact Sykes about the good housekeeping bond due to the charges I incurred because of this. The total cost to me was £270. As a gesture of goodwill to your family I only asked for half of this sum to be charged to you. I also waived the labour costs and made you a payment in lieu of a further clean you did not give me the opportunity to carry out, whether or not it was necessary. I am sorry you did not experience the stay you were expecting but I hoped that you would appreciate my prompt response and generosity in halving the charges I incurred due to the overflow.

"What an absolute pleasure staying here."
I don't think the photos do this cottage justice.
Modern, spotless with every possible level of equipment to make this a home from home.
The host was extremely helpful. Gave us a tour and explained how everything worked and then left us to our own devices.
Thanks for your generous feedback which is of course very welcome. I always like to meet and greet guests and try to be available whilst not intruding into anyone' time at the Stables.

"Good holiday cottage with everything that you need."
Parking can be interesting but it is off road. I have known a more comfortable sofa but we did pick this cottage for the walking and visiting. A bread knife would have been useful but overall we enjoyed our stay at The Stables.
Thanks for your helpful feedback. I will sort the breadknife. Perhaps some more cushions might help? I will follow up. I hope you conquered the Three Peaks.

"My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the stables and would consider going again."
It was clean, comfortable and lovely modern kitchen/diner.The only thing would be the lack of patio use, it needs updating, but to be fair, to our host Andrew, our british weather hasn't been the best for doing outdoor work. Andrew was friendly and easy to talk to.
Thanks very much for your feedback. I am glad you both enjoyed your stay in Trawden.
Yes the weather isn't always on our side but the patio is ready to receive the barbeque and chimenea when the warm weather arrives.
