    The owner keeps it lovely and is very welcoming, there is a fantastic selection of treats which I was not expecting but very well received. Plenty of kitchen equipment which is all top notch . Great selection of books and WiFi . Can’t fault it one bit . Very happy .. thank you .

  • "The cabin is beautiful."

    It is decorated really nicely. The furniture including outdoor furniture is really superb - especially the beds. The whole place was spotless. Cathy the owner left some amazing little thoughtful touches like hot drinks, dishwasher tablets and so much more. You can just feel the thought and care thats gone into this special little space. There were some really useful guest information files which we did use, again nothing lacking. Cathy herself was lovely and contacted us before we arrived. She was really lovely to liaise with! We cannot wait to come back again one day soon hopefully. 5 star, 10 out of 10, top tier, whatever you want to call it. Zero faults. Wonderful! We had the most amazing time.

  • "We spent five days in Feather Hill Lodge and did not want to come home."

    The Lodge was spotless, comfortable and had everything you need.The outside area was lovely and we spent every night outside enjoying the surroundings.Little added extras of coffee,milk, biscuits,jam and lots more were such a lovely touch.We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.Thabj you so much for a wonderful stay .

  • "The lodge was beautiful – spotlessly clean, cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay."

    Waking up each morning surrounded by stunning scenery and peaceful surroundings was just perfect. The location was ideal for exploring, with lovely walks, beautiful lake views and plenty of places nearby to eat and visit. After busy days out, it was so nice coming back to the lodge to unwind and enjoy the calm atmosphere. The whole weekend felt like a little escape from reality and we created some lovely memories. We left feeling relaxed & refreshed. We would definitely recommend it and can’t wait to visit again!

  • "Our third time staying at White Cross and this lodge is by far the best equipped and most comfortable!"

    Huge fridge freezer, wine fridge, two places to sit to eat, the best welcome tray and a condiments tray! What a great idea!! We enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar watching the world go by. Armchairs were perfect for curling up and getting lost in a good book on those rainy days (which was every day of our stay!) Only thing missing was a floor/table lamp, then I could have read all night too! Bed was huge and very comfortable as was the large sofa. We will definitely be back. Owner was great and communication was brilliant, even let us check in a little early and check out a little late, which was much appreciated.

  • "It was such a wonderful lodge, so clean, cosy and very comfortable."

    The beds were so comfy and the pillows were really soft. I usually have to take my own pillows with me when I go anywhere as most places have really firm ones that hurt my neck but these were so lovely and soft. The welcome basket was such a nice touch, it had biscuits, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar, jams some mint chocolates as well as a tray with condiments including, salt, pepper, ketchup, vinegar and mayo. Honestly this lodge had absolutely everything you needed for a stress free relaxing break away. We loved it, amd we can't wait to book again.

  • "Our stay at Feather Hill Lodge was wonderful."

    All communication with the Lodge owner was excellent and all directions were spot on. On entering the Lodge we found a lovely clean, cosy and welcoming space for our holiday. Everything we needed to know was in the Lodge but the owner was on hand if we needed any further assistance. There was a lovely tray with hot chocolate, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and more. The whole Lodge was very clean and had everything we needed. There were also some games in the cupboard which was good for the children. The location of the Lodge is also great, very close to the centre of Windermere. We honestly couldn't fault a thing and we will definitely return. 10/10

  • "This lodge was perfect for our stay in the lakes with our 2 children."

    It was really clean and had lovely decor. There were also some really lovely touches like, fluffy towels, great bedding, tea, coffee, biscuits, dish washer tablets and other useful bits for our stay. I can honestly say that this is one of the nicest lodges we have ever stayed in and it appears that the owner really cares about the property and is keen to do everything to make your stay as pleasurable and as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend and will come back to stay again.

  • "Very enjoyable stay at Feather Hill Lodge."

    The lodge was beautiful, set in the forest but close to the restaurant and amenities. Cathy the owner was very approachable and answered all our queries in a friendly helpful manner I would highly recommend this accommodation, hoping to visit again very soon..

TROUTBECK BRIDGE

Windermere 2 miles; Ambleside 4 miles.

The small village of Troutbeck Bridge lies between the famous towns of Windermere and Ambleside, close to the renowned Kirkstone Pass, within the Lake District National Park. Made up of a scattering of Lakeland cottages, this quiet village offers a thriving and very popular local pub, serving real ales and fine food. Why not leave the car at home, with great connections, you can catch the bus here which regularly runs from the train station all the way up to Keswick via Ambleside, Rydal and Grasmere. Explore Brockhole Visitor Centre with tree-top adventures and childrens play park which is close by - boats to Ambleside and Bowness call in here along with some Lake Cruises in season. There are also some charming walks and bridleways to explore directly from here up into the beautiful Troutbeck Valley and across to Wansfell, as well as the gardens at Holehird, which are run entirely by volunteers and are an enchanting and inspiring place to explore.
