  • "One of the nicest places we have ever stayed."

Booked this for the whole family to get together in March and celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday and this amazing accommodation made the whole thing extra special for my mum. She absolutely loved it. Loads of space, everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated, nice bedrooms, bathrooms and nice showers. The owner was available to contact if needed and dealt with any questions we had very quickly. Great welcome basket with wine and cake! Everyone loved the hot tub, especially my mum. I don’t think she wanted to leave. If you’re considering renting this place, do it - you will love it!

Thankyou so much ! I am so happy you all enjoyed your stay , especially your mum for her birthday xx Property Owner

  • "We stayed here for my mums 70th birthday."

Upon arrival I contacted the owner to make them aware of pre existing damage. One of the legs on the nest of tables was broken, cigarette burns on the couch, both showers didn't work properly (a plumber was called out who couldn't fix the main shower and the electric shower was cold) stains on the rug and sofas, iron burn on the carpet in one of the bedrooms, a dining chair was broken. The floor also hadn't been cleaned as all of our socks were dirty within minutes. The outdoor table with the fire also didn't work so we couldn't enjoy the garden like we'd hoped. I have photos as proof of all the damage we came across. Although the owner was understanding and tried to help we still had to get washed in the hot tub. Won't be booking with Sykes again unfortunately.

I am sorry you have issues with your stay . As soon as you told me about the shower i sent an emergency plumber out who unfortunately couldn’t do anything as the pump had gone . The other shower is working perfectly. Also there is a bath so no need to bathe in the hot tub . I have tightened the chair and table leg as they had come loose , they are not broken .There is a tiny pinprick burn on the main sofa , nobody else has ever commented on this and I’m sorry if it spoilt your stay . As for the outside table i do not leave a gas bottle due to health and safety as it is a naked flame .The cleaner had been that morning and the house was spotless . Property Owner

  • "What a beautiful home this is, we had an amazing time for my 30th birthday."

The house was easily large enough for all 10 of us with lots of space in every main room. The only slight niggle was the shower in the main bathroom we really struggled to get it to stop dripping and for it to have hot water it always seemed to be cold. But the shower in the on-suite was fine so we had a work around. We ended up checking out about 15min over so we bumped in to the lady who owns it too and she was a really lovely lady, so glad I picked here to stay for my birthday and would recommend to anybody who just wants a little weekend away.

Thankyou so much it was lovely meeting you ! Property Owner

  • "My review is 2 parts."

Firstly ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ for guests with children & dogs, secondly for adults. Prior to booking our family gathering I rang Sykes Cottages to confirm the garden was fully enclosed for my 2 dogs and grandchildren. Having contacted the owner it was confirmed the garden was secure and fully enclosed. What we found was a large garden with high fencing on 2 sides. At the end of the garden was a row of brambles and a 3ft slope down to what looked like wire fencing, this we later found to be a 3ft fully BARBED WIRE fence as my large dogs managed to get past me and squeeze through a gap in the fencing into the farmers field (thankfully there was no livestock there as I am aware the farmer has a right to shoot). 1 dog cut their face and I got stuck on the fence trying to retrieve them, we all ended up covered in cow poo. We couldn't stop thinking about how much worse it could have been had one of the children chased a ball and slipped down the slope into the barbed wire. Annoyed and upset I complained and reported this. There was no interest shown by the owner in the wellbeing of the dog or myself or any attempt to rectify the matter, in fact they denied there was a problem until photographic evidence was provided to Sykes Cottages. Then I was offered a £20 refund (what I paid to take the 2nd dog) which was an insult and refused. I left the following day, upset and with the dogs who were supposed to remain at the barn for the rest of the week with family. On the flip side to this, the barn itself is beautiful, tastefully decorated and with lovely welcome gifts. The kitchen is well stocked and warm with the aga (but there is no door from the lounge into the kitchen causing a burning hazard for a child). Towels & plastic glasses are provided for the hot tub (unaware, we had taken our own). It is perfect for adults just be prepared for the trickles of water from the shower and the trip hazards throughout.

  • "Overall loved the barn and the location."

The umbrella for outside never arrived and we did struggle for shade as the weather was hot, therefore very disappointed. Also whereas it was absolutely fine for 7 of us, really don't feel it is adequate for 11 people as advertised. Also found the ensuite bathroom a bit difficult at night owing to the step up. We realised why it was like that but found it a bit hazardous. Pleasantly surprised to find a lovely welcome pack.

  • "Noah’s Barn is beautiful, we had a fantastic stay Topped off by amazing weather!"

Hot tub makes it all the better Facilities, kitchen, bedrooms, garden, parking all fantastic. If I was to be picky and provide a suggestion for improvement I feel a gas heater for evenings when it drops chilly would be nice (Table is a heater) no gas bottle. I’d have liked a gas bottle to be made available and pay for it for the duration of the stay Floor boards are very creaky but its to be expected I guess. Would highly recommend this property for families who want quality time together with just a short drive to dales, lakes, Blackpool etc

  • "Upon arrival the property looked to be just as expected."

However the next morning after using shower above the living room we found that there was a leak that came through to the main communal area, this prevented us getting showered in a timely manner and stopped us using the area next to the TV as the water was dripping through the ceiling. Other faults were then found with the oven and dishwasher shelves which we attempted to fix. The bathrooms weren't as clean as they could have been and the outdoor space had a broken step on the patio which we needed to move as our children were playing and it could've been dangerous for them.

Thank you for you feedback. Once again, we apologise for the problem with the shower. As discussed previously with you, we had engaged a plumber, in order to resolve the issue, but unfortunately it required further attention. On inspection we could find no problem with the oven and we have popped the runner wheel back on the dishwasher shelf. We were not aware of the broken tile in the garden before your arrival but that has now been repaired. Thank you for bringing these things to our attention and we hope that it didn’t spoil your weekend. Property Owner

Im not happy they are poorly. Took them the walk in centre The hot tub is not clean. I want someone to phone me.

I’m sorry to read your negative review. Our hot tub had the water changed on the day of your arrival and the chemicals were tested as they always are. We have never had any issues with the hot tub as will see from all of our other fantastic reviews. When we arrived at the Barn after you left the hot tub was extremely dirty. There was shower gel bottles and mud in the hot tub. This meant the hot tub having to be drained and cleaned again. In the welcome brochure to the barn we give the recommended time to stay in the hot tub and instructions to shower before entering the hot tub to remove any chemicals or dirt from your skin and advise not to consume food or drink in the hot tub to keep the water clean and most importantly for your safety. I’m sorry you had a negative experience when using the hot tub. Naima and the team at Noah’s Barn Property Owner
