  • "Our 1 week stay at the Oak was brilliant."

    The accommodation was as described, clean, very comfortable, and provided with all amenities and utilities needed. The location was ideal for exploring the lakes and not too far from local services, pubs, or restaurants. If you just wanted to relax then your own little garden was just beautiful.Our host were lovely and welcoming and would definitely recommend it.

  • "The Oak was amazing the owners had thought of everything you needed in a house and put it in the cabin."

    So cosy and cute! Greatful for the pleasant stay and the owners are so lovely, Liz and Neil. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends we had such a relaxing stay and enjoyed the sunshine. The little ornaments dotted around were so sweet and every detail of the Japanese garden appeared well thought out. Hopefully returning in the future and possibly with our motorbikes!   • "Me and my partner booked Oak to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and had the most wonderful time."

    The location is brilliant for exploring the whole of the Lake District and there is plenty to do in the locality as well. The cabin is beautiful, really cosy and the garden was the ideal spot for breakfast. Liz and Neil are fantastic hosts, very attentive and just lovely people!

    Situated on a closed section of what was a main road so ideal for exercising our CockerPoo with no danger of traffic. Excellent walk adjacent to the property & a path that leads to the nearby "Lakeside & Haverthwaite" Railway.

Enjoying a superb location set within the Lake District National Park in a private woodland enclave, Oak is a fantastic pet-friendly choice for a couple seeking their next escape to the Lakes.

Upon arrival, you will find a delightful front patio set within a Japanese themed garden, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining or sip your morning coffee to the soundtrack of the tricking river.

Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you will find a well-equipped kitchen for rustling up delicious meals ready to enjoy at the breakfast bar for two over a glass of fizz, before relaxing on the plush sofa and recounting the day's adventures.

If you’re not ready to settle down for the evening, why not head over to the communal Arctic Hut, where you can relax on the plush seating in front of the indoor barbecue/fire pit and listen to your favourite tunes?

There is also a further communal outdoor seating area for you to enjoy.

The Woodman's Huts

The Woodman’s Huts consists of three beautiful shepherds hut resting in the charming Cumbrian village of Haverthwaite. This collection offers fantastic pet-friendly, studio-style accommodation with well-equipped kitchens, underfloor heating, bespoke furnishings, well-appointed shower rooms, private gardens within the picturesque Japanese themed garden with water feature and decking, as well as access to the communal Artic Hut with fire pit/barbecue, plenty of seating and music area, along with an additional communal seating area. The surroundings enjoy the stunning landscape of the Lake District National Park, whilst being enveloped by a private woodland enclave. About the location

ULVERSTON

Lake Windermere 10 miles; Coniston Water 11 miles.

Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
