"Overall we were happy with the house but disappointed that there was no welcome ..."
Overall we were happy with the house but disappointed that there was no welcome pack and an awful lot of cupboards and drawers had stickers (more than one in most cases) saying “locked do not attempt to open “
Thank you for your comments. I believe a cleaning and basic welcome pack is provided. I certainly pay for this to be provided so am surprised that none was available for your stay. Did you contact the booking agent at the time?
I have in the past had guests force open locked cupboards and the stickers are provided to politely advise people to not attempt to open locked areas.

"No milk in the fridge on arrival - good job we weren't delayed and the shop across the lane was still open."
There was mention of 'limited head space' in some places but we both had to duck on entering the bathroom and when getting in and out of bed. By the time we left - my husband (6 ft) felt like Quasimodo! Downstairs was fine - two decent sofas and well equipped kitchen but the 'utility' did not offer 'plenty of space' for storing bikes or walking gear. It was cluttered with junk and covered in cobwebs. TV over complicated - we never figured out how to watch live TV. Also - we were unable to play music - this system was rather old tech. with minidisc! No blue tooth connectivity. The double sided clothes cupboard shared between the two bedrooms would not be satisfactory if there were two couples staying and was also full of 'stuff' restricting storage space. The strange grey 'cover' (like a bed size bean bag) at the foot of the bed was so heavy it required us both to lift it off and no way could we have slept with it on the bed. The 'This is locked. Do not attempt to open' stickers on many of the drawers and cupboards seriously diminished the ambience of the cottage. Parking would be very tight for two vehicles.
Thank you for your feedback.
I didn't know we had offered to provide you milk on arrival. I have never offered this service but i believe there is a small welcome pack provided by Lakelovers for cleaning and some basic supplies.
There is a well stocked shop a very short distance from the property and as this is a self catering property, it is expected that people staying would bring with them what they require.
I have regularly packed two estate cars (Skoda Octavia's) at this property with very little difficulty. It does depend on the size of your car and reversing skills.
The TV is a pretty standard smart TV with normal aerial connection, internet connection and Satellite TV box. Normal TV reception in Windermere is poor to say the least hence the provision of Satellite TV system. This is easily access like any TV where you choose the appropriate input channel and the satellite remote to select a channel. There is a TV guide with the satellite.
There is a CD player, normal radio and two DAB radios in the property. There is also a BOSE sound dock with Bluetooth connectivity. I use this my self regularly.
"Weighted blankets" are provided and are a personal choice. I love them. There are however winter and summer Duvets provided if this is not to your liking.
The covered area to the rear of the house is like any outside storage shed or space and is impacted by external weather conditions at times. I regularly store two bikes and damp kit in the area. It is not large enough for 4 people to store bikes.
This is a cottage property and headroom is limited.

"We found Cherry Tree cottage a great place to stay."
Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. We would definitely book here again if staying in The Lakes. We had a minor issue which was sorted on the day so excellent service. We were also lucky with the weather but even if we weren't there were plenty of games at the property. 10/10!

It was really clean and well looked after. Towels and bedding were good quality - especially liked the weighted blanket and spa bath!
Kitchen was well equipped and the lounge had a nice cosy feel to it with comfy sofas. Great selection of books too!
Location was perfect for accessing Bowness and Windermere centre. A great base!
So glad you enjoyed your stay- hopefully you come back again. Cheers Ian

"This amazing house is wonderful base for a holiday in the Lake District."
We visited in December and were welcomed to warm and cosy home, the kitchen is really well equipped with everything you could need! We cooked every night and nothing was a problem. The bedrooms are comfy and the skylight was a lovely touch to watch the stars. Easy walk to Windermere & Bowness, the closest shop was 1 min walk and very convenient.
Would 100% recommend a stay at Cherry Tree Cottage

"We just enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cherry Tree Cottage as a family of four."
The cottage had everything we needed in terms of facilities, and the location was perfect- within walking distance of Windermere town centre with a lovely park on the way for the children. As well as Booths supermarket being a short drive away, there is a very well stocked convenience shop at the end of the street for picking up any extras. The cottage was very clean with good quality towels and bedding. It had a homely, comfortable feel with everything we needed to keep the children and ourselves entertained before bed after days out. The kitchen/dining area were well equipped and a good size for the four of us. We would definitely recommend the cottage and will consider returning in the future.
Thanks for the great review. Glad you had a good time. I have just arrived for a week here myself and the corner shop is amazing. It was not like that last time I was here. Hope you come back.

"Lovely, immaculately clean cottage in a convenient location."
The cottage is located very close to other houses and doesn't have a view, however it is extremely peaceful despite this. Nice to be able to walk into the town from the cottage. You can also walk into Bowness, although a very steep walk uphill back, but plenty of buses to hop on if needed.

"Charming and cosy cottage down a quiet suburban lane."
Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a very well stocked kitchen. I travelled with my sister, it is a perfect size for 2 people. The only thing missing was a hairdryer. There are a good range of supermarkets within a short walking distance. If not travelling by car there is a good bus service less then 10 min away , and the train station is about 15 min walk.

A lot of thought has gone into the facilities. It was very new . Loved sitting up the garden so very private .
We could walk either way to Windermere one way , then Bowness the other with in 15 mins .
Plenty on road parking as well as by the cottage . We had a lovely time .

"The property was modern, clean and warm."
I booked this property because it had a king size bed, but the bed was so hard we could not use it and had to sleep in the double bed. All the upstairs rooms all have limited ceiling height. The shower in the bathroom was tiny and the spa bath was also very small.
Although the property description states parking for 2 cars this would have been impossible due to the tight turning space along the lane.
Thanks for the feedback. I think the description already states limited headroom upstairs. I have regularly parked two cars ( a Peugeot 206) and a Skoda estate for 5 years without an issue. Obviously the size of the cars has an impact on the ability to park! On street parking is very close by if you can’t get your cars in to the space provided

"What a lovely little cottage, we couldn't have wished for more."
Immaculate throughout, warm and cosy and has a real homely feel to it. Its ideally located to walk to pubs & shops up the top half of Windermere, or the opposite way to Bowness if you feel up to it.
Kids loved being here too.
We'll definitely return,
Thanks again.

"Great location, nice & quiet, comfy and certainly warm while we visited over the new year week."
Suitable for a couple not couples as the one built in wardrobe available is shared between both bedrooms, the other built in wardrobe is private & locked, chest of drawers & bedside tables available. Corner shower is very small & compact. If you want a large smart TV then this is not the property for you, we managed & watched what we could or listened to music. Would we return Yes and always like a property with its own private parking area.
Thanks for the nice review- just to clarify that there is a 32” smart TV and satellite system down stairs and smaller smart TV and satellite in the main bedroom. There are very limited normal TV channels in Windermere hence the Smart TV and satellite systems. You can login to your own streaming services on the TV and use the wi-fi.
