  • "Absolutely lovely little place to stay, we loved seeing the horses every day!"

It was a good space for our 7 month old to have a crawl around too. There was a travel cot and high chair in the cupboard, but we couldn't see this on the facilities before we went, so took our own. The only room for improvement we would say is for a sweeping brush in addition to the dustpan, as it would have made cleaning up the baby's mess from weaning a bit easier. Overall we had a great time, there were so many lovely walks to do, and so much we didn't have time for. The hot tub was a food bonus too!

  • "This was one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in."

Lovely comfy couches, plenty of kitchen equipment and spacious bedrooms. Very quiet peaceful and private. Patio area had the sun all day . The hot tub was ideal after a day's walking. So many places to visit in the area. Some nice walks from the cottage and plenty further afield. Well done to the owners Claire and Peter. Thank you

  • "We have loved our stay at Stable view."

It’s peaceful, beautifully clean and has everything you could need for your stay. The sofas and beds are comfortable and the lounge area perfect to watch a movie. The hot tub is a superb bonus but by far my favourite part of the holiday is looking at all the animals on the farm. The hosts are friendly and work so very very hard. We will be back. Thank you.

  • "Overall a good place to stay."

All the amenities there at hand. Clean & tidy. Quite secluded about 20 mins from nearest town. Could do with signage on road as sat nav sent us to the wrong place and we spent 3/4 hour trying to find the place. The small sign is next to main farmhouse and can't be seen from roadside. Apart from that very happy (Hot Tub was a bonus)

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Stable View."

The house was incredibly clean and in beautiful surroundings… and the complimentary tea and biscuits were very much appreciated after our long drive there! The cottage has everything we could have wished for, and there are some nice pubs a short distance away. The area has great walks for dogs (and their owners!) and the hot tub is the perfect place for the adults to relax afterwards. We would certainly re-book :)

They loved the cottage and the hot tub was amazing. Only negative, which is nothing to do with the cottage, was the local pub had shut down, so there wasn't a pub nearby to walk to as advertised.

Perfect for animal and nature lovers. Private garden and private cottage with a very cosy feel. The hosts (Claire & Peter) left some very welcome special touches. The hot tub was well positioned for privacy allowing us to enjoy the evenings after a day of exploring. Perfect too, for well behaved dogs. Thoroughly recommend.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Calder Farm, everything was pretty much perfect."

The setting is amazing, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet. The cottage was lovely and cosy with perfect facilities, nice and warm, we hardly needed the woodburner although it was nice to have it on. The hot tub was a real luxury, it felt great especially on a clear calm evening. The hosts Claire and Peter were really friendly, it was lovely to chat to them and understand how they have transformed their farm. We were lucky enough to see lambs being born on our last day. We heard owls and oystercatchers flying overhead, and in the nearby fields there were flocks of redwings, nuthatch and buzzard. There are of course amazing places to visit on all sides, loads of beautiful walks. Strongly recommended and we hope to return soon

The property had everything we needed. It is so hard to find somewhere dog and toddler friendly. The high chair, enclosed garden and wide stairs that weren't too steep meant it was perfect. It was also nearby lots of nice walks, attractions and pubs, which was great for us. The hot tub was amazing to relax in at the end of the day. Thanks!
