  • "The description did not do this lovely cottage justice."

It was so comfortable and nicely decorated, tastefully furnished and well equipped. However, the view…… it was just stunning. The coast path runs past the front garden, with easy access for walks. Beforehand I was concerned about the shared parking, but we had no issues during our stay. The access road is narrow, but I have a large vehicle and had no problems. It is a residential area, but all the neighbours we met were really friendly. I would go back without hesitation.

thank you so much for your lovely review we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay x Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage with everything we needed and more!"

Lovely arrival treats, with even a little toy for our baby. We had a very comfortable stay, the cottage is very clean and well kept. The views are outstanding and being so close to the sea was a real treat. Just a little note for potential guests with dogs, the grassy area of the garden isn't secure, only the courtyard area is. We have dogs ourselves and wouldn't be able to return with them. They aren't used to concrete and would run riot in the neighbours gardens! However, for future holidays without our pups we would definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Thank you so much for the review we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay Hopefully in the next few weeks the bottom part of the grass garden will be all fenced off and secure for all our fury friends to stay x Property Owner

My husband and I would really love to return but the fact is, it is NOT afor disabled people. Not my fault, not yours but there you go. I will be putting a review on trip adviser...

Thank you for your review and your comments. We are really sorry that our cottage was not suitable for you , we are not sure how you were misinformed that our cottage was accessible as never have we or ever intended to List it as being accessible so I do feel the review is unfair towards us. But I'm pleased you got to appreciate how beautiful it is and where it is located and you would be welcome back any time. We also hope you enjoyed the welcome pack of local products ( Shauns choice of tipple ha ha ) and of course your beautiful dog enjoyed their treats x Please take care dont hesitate to contact us if you ever want to come back x and hope you recieved your parcel ok x Property Owner

About the location

WHITEHAVEN

Saint Bees 4.6 miles; Seaton 9.5 miles; Bowness-on-Windermere 49.8 miles.

The West Cumbrian town of Whitehaven is situated on the coast between the sparkling sea and the Lakeland Fells. It was one of the first ‘planned’ towns in England and today can boast almost 250 Listed Georgian buildings and some beautiful parks and gardens. Today the town’s harbour is a designated conservation area and visitors can learn about the town’s history at the excellent Beacon Heritage Centre. The surrounding coastline has much to offer, not least its old smugglers villages, such as Ravenglass, and the red sandstone cliffs of pretty St Bees - now the start of Wainwright’s famous “Coast to Coast” Walk. Meanwhile inland you can enjoy the tranquillity of the Western lakes: Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock, Buttermere and Wastwater. Ennerdale is perhaps the most peaceful of all the lakes, with no public roads running along its National Trust owned shoreline.
