  • "Cottage is lovely and nicely decorated."

Nice kitchen and bathroom and nice hot shower / good water pressure. Parking wasn’t too bad for most of the stay other than once or twice had to park a few minutes walk away. The sky box is a nice touch too, however the random roku remote upstairs with no Roku is odd and made that TV pointless. The harsh rating is mainly for the bed. By night 4 I struggled to get to sleep for how hard the bed was and how hot the bedding seemed to get. The pillows were also useless. The mattress just needs to go. Besides that, the knife / cutting board situation was near impossible to cut all the way through chicken, some other kitchen utensils were broken or missing making cooking a little bit more annoying (the oven / range is nice). We also didn’t know wood wasn’t included so had to take a trip to B&Q to buy some. I guess you learn. Kendal is a 10 minute walk to the shops but seems a lot was shut and not many food places to eat. Seems a lot quieter than the other towns and quite far when there’s bad traffic.

  • "The cottage itself is lovely, the facilities are really modern."

The bed was a bit hard which resulted in a lack of sleep. The blankets are terrible, really old a dusty which resulted in my partner getting really bad eyes and the smell of old dust lingering. The bathroom is really modern we enjoyed the bath and shower. There was no wheely bin for the duration of the stay so we could not recycle or take the rubbish out. And parking is the only nightmare. Although pre-warned via email, I still recieved a parking ticket on the first night. Overall a pleasant experience and enjoyed our time in Kendal.

  • "Rating 3.5 out of 5 A lovely little cottage in a good location, ideal for a short couple’s getaway."

Please note, parking spaces in the area are limited and taken by aggressive local residents. The mattress is made from hard foam and is very uncomfortable to sleep on. Oh, and bring your own fire wood if you intend to use the log burner, as none provided in the cottage or in the rear external store.

  • "The cottage was lovely however the bed was far too firm for our tastes which meant we left a day early in order to get a decent night's sleep."
