The property

Keldas, an attractive two-bedroom, Victorian terrace cottage is set in the centre of the traditional Lakeland town of Ambleside, located at the heart of the Lake District National Park.

Positioned on a quiet side road just a couple of minutes away from the town centre, Keldas has been beautifully refurbished by the owners to an impeccably high standard, creating a stylish and spacious holiday home ideal for a family or two couples.

Taking its name Keldas from a lesser-known but picturesque minor summit in the Ullswater Valley, this property is perfect for adventure seekers looking to be close to the excitement of the Lakes.

Walk through the entrance porch to your luxurious, living/dining room with oak flooring, cleverly designed to create different mood areas.

Sit on the sumptuous leather suite, admire the feature wall-mounted gas fire and look forward to snuggling up with your loved ones in the evenings to watch films on the Smart TV.

Look over to your lovely dining table where you will enjoy delicious meals in this bright and contemporary space.

The smart, fitted galley kitchen with granite worktops holds all the appliances you need for a self-catered stay, whilst from here you can find the ground-floor shower room boasting excellent style and flooded by overhead natural light.

Relax on the lovely private patio area on summer evenings, sipping refreshing drinks and discussing what the next day will bring.

When sleep calls, head upstairs to catch your night's rest in the two welcoming bedrooms, featuring a king-size and a twin, which can be made into a double, providing flexible sleeping arrangements.

The main bathroom is also on this floor with a bath, shower over the bath, basin and toilet.

Right on your doorstep is a wealth of food places to choose from, so whether you fancy some traditional pub grub or a fancy meal for two, the option is all yours.

Explore the town of Ambleside, by enjoying a round of White Platts Miniature Golf, testing your skills at the Ambleside Climbing Wall, and delving into the local history at the Armitt Library & Museum Centre.

Make your way to Windermere and discover the fascinating exhibits at the Windermere Jetty Museum, embark on exciting outdoor adventures at Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre, and explore the area on two wheels with bike hire from Total Adventure Bike Hire.

For the adventurous souls, take on the challenge of hiking Helvellyn or exploring the stunning Aira Force Waterfall.

And don't forget to conquer the iconic Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The Lake District awaits your exploration from the serene cottage of Keldas.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
