  • "This is a beautiful cottage, well positioned in the centre of Whalley which is a lovely little town in the Ribble Valley."

It has been renovated to a high standard and is really comfortable. There's a nice cottage garden to the rear which gets lots of sunshine which we enjoyed on a couple of days, and the welcome hamper was a really nice touch. The owners seemed to be very nice people and keen to ensure we had everything for our stay. Whalley is buzzing on Fridays and Saturdays, and the location is great for easy access to the bars and restaurants. There's lots of places to visit and overall we had a great 6 night stay. I've got no problem recommending Number 10 as a beautiful place to stay when visiting the Ribble Valley.

Hi David, thank you for your kind and detailed review. It’s great to hear the cottage exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed Whalley village too. Thank you for recommending No.10! Property Owner

We had a 4nght stay over the Easter weekend and it was bliss. The cottage is perfect as soon as you step through the front door. So relaxing and we loved every minute of our stay again. We even got chance to sit out in the garden catching the spring sunshine. The pooches remembered the house from our last stay 12mths ago. 5 paw standard from Betty & Martha. I'm sure we'll be back for a 3rd stay very soon.

Hi Fiona, it’s fabulous to hear you enjoyed your second stay just as much! Glad you had chance to enjoy the garden in spite of the somewhat dodgy weather… Great recommendation that you’d return again and many thanks for a great review. Property Owner

First though was oh! It's a row of small terrace cottages. We got out the car and crossed the road, opened the key safe, opened the door and Wow! The house was lovely. Beautiful bedrooms and ensuite shower rooms. Settled down straight away in front of the fire with a cup of tea and a biscuite from the welcome box that was thoughtfully put out for us. All in all a most Comfortable pleasant and relaxing break.

We’re delighted we exceeded your expectations with the cottage and you still had a lovely stay in spite of the Lancashire weather! Property Owner

  • "The property has been renovated to a very high standard and has the feel of a boutique hotel."

The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept well. The main living area is much lighter and brighter than it looks in the pictures, but our small dog did not appreciate the glass doors in the main downstairs living area - he walked into them quite hard twice so we had to leave them permanently open and keep something in front of them at all times. The bathrooms are very tight if like my husband you are tall and rather portly (the large feathered bird ornaments were very awkward for him when drying himself after squeezing out of the shower). My mother-in-law and I, though, delighted in the beautiful wallpaper and had no problems with the small space. Whalley is lovely and we would highly recommend the butcher and the wine bar, but parking can be a bit of a problem. We did manage to park outside the property all but 2 of the days, but on the 2 we couldn't we did have to park quite a way away. It's a busy little place! We did feel some more accessible coat hooks would have been advantageous - it was drizzly while we were there and the only place to put a damp coat was either on the back of a dining chair or in a cupboard marked for coats and boots that you needed to be very slim and a contortionist to access (squeezing behind a sofa in front of a tv with a standard lamp blocking the opening of the door). We very much enjoyed our stay and felt the cottage was well-priced. We would definitely recommend it.

It has an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and a variety of takeaways. The cottage is absolutely stunning and just like the photos advertising it. Everything was of the highest quality from fixtures and fittings to all the furnishings, bed linen etc. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. You could not fail to feel at home in this cosy and comfortable cottage. It is a dog friendly property and even our cockapoo felt at home there. There was a very generous welcome hamper to greet us and was very much appreciated. The owners should be very proud of their beautiful cottage and we felt privileged to be able to stay there. I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to spend time in this home from home environment.

Thank you so much Linda for your lovely, detailed review. We want all our guests to really enjoy the cottage and feel totally at home, it’s great to hear you did just that. Hope we’ll have chance to welcome you back again to enjoy more of our glorious Ribble Valley too! Property Owner

We managed to park with no issues, just outside. The cottage has all the facilities you need for a more than comfortable stay, with some extras for the personal touch - our dog, Dylan, felt very welcome too! It was brilliant having a fully enclosed space for him outside, too. We know the area well and Whalley is a beautiful spot for all interests.

10 - we had a wonderful time at this cozy cottage in the pretty village of Whalley. The advertisement of the property, facilities and location are all accurate and matched our expectations. The cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped, and we enjoyed the welcome hamper with treats for both us and our two mini dachshunds. The owners contacted us via text to check everything was ok on arrival and were on hand for anything needed. The village has lots of pubs, restaurants and little shops to explore, and there was a SPAR and a COOP on the doorstep for any groceries we needed. We ordered a couple of lovely takeaways so if you don’t fancy cooking you don’t have to with all the amenities nearby. The weather was rainy for most of our stay, but we didn’t mind as there were lots of lovely walks nearby, either walking distance or a short car ride away. When we returned to the cottage, we had plenty of entertainment options with board games, books, and access to Netflix, Apple, Disney and Prime. We stayed for six nights and it was the perfect way to celebrate the new year. We highly recommend this home stay to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable break with or without your furry friends.

Everything was finished to a high standard, including furnishings and decoration. The kitchen was very well equipped with Bosch appliances and everything we needed. Although Parking was on the street we never had a problem and I was able to park right outside every time. The town itself is delightful and has a good number of independent high quality restaurants, as well as a co-op and spar. There are good places to walk the dog right from your front door. The host provided a lovely welcome basket of wine and treats for us as well as treats for a dog. They also included a voucher for a free drink at the local wine bar which was a nice touch. No 10 is brilliantly placed right in the historic centre, but the traditional terraced cottage has been completely redesigned inside to provide remarkably spacious accommodation. This is one of the best and most thoughtfully equipped holiday lets we have stayed in. The kitchen is particular lovely, with everything you could possible need, white goods and equipment, and the small rear courtyard has been planted and screened beautifully to provide a lovely sitting/eating out area despite its lack of outlook. Some of the interior design is a little eccentric (bizarre?) but all is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Warmly recommended.

What an unexpected and added bonus this cottage was. Quiet location (apart from the church bells on Sunday morning but what a lovely sound), beautifully furnished and the decoration was stunning. It was well-equipped throughout, especially the kitchen, with a pretty courtyard garden to the rear. It far surpassed any of the rentals we have stayed in previously. Only one point to note - if there are 4 people staying, the bedroom at the back is smaller than the front room with limited space. Whalley itself is a great base for exploring the area. Plenty of pubs, bars, restaurants and takeaways though booking is a must especially at weekends. The train station is only a ten minute walk so easy to get into Clitheroe for a bit of variety. Highly recommended property if visiting the area.
