  • "Exceptional and outstanding."

We have stayed in many, many places, but Bluebell Cottage absolutely topped them all. A beautiful home from home. The cleanest and freshest place we had the pleasure of staying in. There is everything you would need for a stay here. Everything was perfect from the comfortable, cosy, beautiful decor to the serenity of a most comfortable sleep in a fabulous bed. The information book at the cottage was a great help and so very well put together. The little extra additions really made us feel special. Just a short walk into the lovely town of Ormskirk with it's stunning parks and building in the surrounding area. Great shops and a lovely little market which we shopped at. We didn't realise what a historical little town this was and was very interested in the little snippets of information that we found along the way and in the town itself. All in all, a totally exceptional stay. The owner Dot was very welcoming and offered any help or advice if we needed. We honestly cannot do Bluebell cottage justice with just words. You need to experience it for yourselves. We most definitely will be staying in the future. Many thanks Dot x

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time and trouble to leave such amazing feedback!! It has made my day!! You were amazing guests and in all honesty I hardly knew you had been there you left it so clean and tidy. I am so glad you liked the area too. Ormskirk isn’t a well known town but as you have found out, it has a lot to offer. Thank you both again. I really appreciate your kind words and hopefully will get to meet you both next time you stay. Kind Regard, Dot Property Owner

  • "Bluebell Cottage is absolutely delightful."

It looked nice in the pictures but is even better in real life. Spotlessly clean and all amenities for your holiday. It was easy to find and although car park opposite was busy, you get a parking permit for another area that’s just as close. Easy to get to Southport, Crosby beach etc. Is only 10 min walk to the train station, we got the train to Liverpool which are very frequent. Great communication from the owners. Perfect stay and hope to return. Ormskirk is ideal location for relaxing break.

Thank you for your lovely review Vanessa. It was a pleasure having you and your party stay and thank you so much for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy. Really glad you enjoyed your holiday and took the time to discover what Ormskirk and the surrounding area has to offer. You would be welcome back anytime Property Owner

  • "What a lovely cottage just perfect for myself partner and our two dogs ..."

What a lovely cottage just perfect for myself partner and our two dogs couldn’t find fault with a thing At first we worried that there wasn’t actual parking at the property it’s self but the small Carpark opposite was easy to find a space and we could see our car from the cottage The small neat garden on the front was enclosed just right for the dogs on leads to their business and there is a large park 5 minute walk away The cottage nicely decorated and equipped Highly recommend Formby Beach and Crosby Southport worth a visit along with the Wirral via Mersey Tunnel (Suggestion for Bathroom a grab handle on wall over the bah)

Thank you for your lovely feedback Christine and thank you for leaving everything so clean and tidy. You would be welcome back anytime. Also a good suggestion re the bath and we will look to see if it’s possible to get one added to the bath or at least on the wall ☺️ Property Owner

A beautiful, period cottage dating back to approximately 1750, this delightful dwelling is one of the oldest properties in Ormskirk, boasting an enclosed front garden and rear courtyard, welcomes two well-behaved dogs, and is sat directly opposite Ormskirk Parish Church, one of only three churches in England to have both a tower and spire at the same end of the structure!

Inside the cottage, discover a collection of tastefully-presented interiors, all finished to a high standard, including a fully-equipped kitchen/diner, and a welcoming sitting room complete with a Smart TV that guests can use to login to their Netflix accounts, as well as an electric stove-effect fire.

When sleep calls, be sure to refresh with a refreshing shower before you eventually settle in for a well-earned rest in the plush double bedroom.

If you can tear yourself from your tranquil new abode, head out on foot to explore more of what Ormskirk has to offer.

In town, you will find convenience stores selling homely essentials, a wealth of pubs including The Buck I'th Vine and The Cricketers, two Michelin-starred restaurants within driving distance, as well as a train station linking Ormskirk to the nearby cities of Preston and Liverpool.

Edge Hill University is also just a short car journey from the town centre.

For a full day out, make the brief car drive northwest to nearby Southport, where you can spend a day ambling along Southport Pier and Beach, experience nature within the Ainsdale Discovery Centre, roam the scenic grounds of Hesketh Park, or even catch an adrenaline high at the Southport Pleasureland theme park.
