  • "1st impressions last and ours was that we loved this cosy little lodge with excellent facilities and hot tub, we're already planning our next trip back."

  • "We booked this as had family staying in the connected property - Lonsdale Villa so was ideal for a large family Xmas."

The lodge was as described, although a little tired in places and the kitchen was slightly lacking when it came to glasses and sharp knives, although this wasn’t really an issue for us as we spent most of the time next door. Property info says Alexa available but this didn’t work. Only downside, the property is on bottled gas. No info about this in the info pack and we came back in the early hours and the gas had run out so we were trying to change the gas bottle over, in the dark. The owners were quick to respond and apologise but I think people should be aware and what to do if the gas does run out.

Angela, many thanks for your feedback. All points noted. Massive apologies about the gas, this actually should not happen as there should always be a full bottle ready as automatic back up. Clearly our maintenance people had not set up correctly. We had just had new fibre wifi installed and it appears that the alexa had not been re set. Appreciate the feedback and by way of an apology can we drop £50 back to you. And anytime you wish to book again offer you 25% discount. Many thanks again for staying with us Property Owner

  • "Went for a girly chillout weekend."

Arrived late so didn't really see the lodge. What a great place, must say easier to access in a smaller car as I have a 4x4. The hot tub and patio area are fabulous, the grounds well maintained. The property was well stocked. It was an ideal Base for our adventures and Penrith is a lovely little town. The slightly late check out was greatly appreciated as well

  • "We stayed here for a couple days in August and it was honestly THE best experience!"

I booked The Hermitage for my partners birthday and bought along our furry companion Willow for the journey. We would not stop smiling as soon as we got there. The whole property is absolutely stunning! Even Willow could not stop doing zoomies from how happy she was! Upon entry we saw a lovely bottle of wine and biscuits laid out for us which was so sweet. There are many board games, a lovely TV, and anything you need to have a comfortable stay. The hot tub is the BEST after a long day out, laying back and looking up was just the most relaxing thing, in such a beautifully decorated space. I did have a little trouble figuring stuff out with the hot tub since I am not used to it and straight away the owners answered happily to answer any questions I had. Super helpful and super friendly! I am so happy we came here, and will definitely be coming back again, just an absolutely perfect place owned by the most loveliest people! Thank you SO much x Romy, Dillon and Willow

  • "We booked "The Hermitage" as a girls trip away, the location is beautiful, it is on the grounds of a big house and it is very well kept."

We didn't have any "problems" with our stay, it was gorgeous, but we do have a few reccomendations. There are signs saying "Hot tub use prohibited after 10pm" out of respect for their neighbours, however someone local was playing guitar until 12pm... When we got there, they could've provided one starter loo role as we hadn't been shopping yet and couldnt use the bathroom after a 2hr drive. Cleaner, you need to explore the bedroom roof and bed for cobwebs as there was so many dusty cobwebs. Owners were nice, we didn't meet them but they checked in and messaged. :-)

  • "Lovely log cabin."

Owners very friendly and approachable. Had to call them to get instructions for access to property on arrival. Property clean, comfortable and had plenty of facilities. Hot tub lovely too. Only negative is that the outdoor area looks a little dated and none of the outdoor lights worked apart from the one off the kitchen. However, this didn't spoil our stay.

michelle, thank you for your review much appreciated. we take on board your comments and will ensure better lights and or new ones are fitted. Property Owner
