  • "Loved Lavender Cottage from the very beginning."

The place was spotless and very well presented. Professionalism was the word that springs to mind, it made our stay so enjoyable. Would definitely stay again if over that way again, a really great find! Thank you

  • "A lovely cottage."

Everything very comfortable, clean and very well equipped. A pleasant garden which would be great to make full use of in warmer weather. As mentioned in a previous review, we also had to be careful of the gate with our small dog but was not a huge issue! Parking was not a problem at all. Many thanks to the owners, we hope to be back sometime.

  • "We booked the cottage to stay close to family living in Sedbergh and would definitely book it again."

Perfect location for access to walks and local attractions, and close to the motorway. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. The garden is secure and ideal for our dog. Though she is quite small and we did have to make sure she didn't go near the gate and crawl under! Thank you

Thank you for your lovely feedback, so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in Sedbergh, it sounds like you made the most of all that the area has to offer, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was wonderful, really cosy and very well equipped."

We loved the village and had a wonderful time in the village pub which was just a short walk from the cottage. I booked the cottage as a half way point to meet for my adult daughter and her husband and myself and my partner. We all loved that we were able to switch off and relax. Our holiday was perfect!

Thank you for your lovely feedback, it sounds like you enjoyed a lovely relaxing break away with family, really glad you enjoyed your stay at Lavender Cottage Property Owner

  • "A very comfortable cottage in a lovely small town."

Very well equipped kitchen so we cooked and ate in mostly. Beds, seating, and bath and shower rooms excellent, also Wifi. Not far from the centre of the village and although people walk past to another nearby cottage it was tucked away and very peaceful and quiet. We were lucky to be there for the Sheep Fest and the crafty ones in the family loved all the things to see. Farfield Mill is a favourite place. Amazing walks and waterfalls nearby. Very short walk to the river. I agree with others that the ceiling light in the living room is not bright enough, making it hard to have a knitting and TV evening.

So glad you enjoyed your time in Sedbergh, thank you for your lovely feedback and so glad you found everything you needed in the kitchen. We hope you will return again in the future. We will look at increasing the wattage in the lounge ceiling light, the addition of the table lamps does increase the light in an evening which we hope makes a nice ambience. Property Owner

  • "Cottage and garden were really lovely."

Really enjoyed having a drink on the patio taking in the view of the fells after a long walk. The only issue we had was that the hot water was only luke warm and we couldn't work out how to make it hotter.

So glad you enjoyed your time at the cottage and at Sedbergh. Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure any issues are checked as soon as possible. I have increased the temperature on the boiler hot water thermostat, hopefully now the water will be much hotter. Property Owner

  • "Superb property within a short walk of Sedbergh Main Street."

Beds very comfortable. Everything you need was there (including some provisions on arrival) and we enjoyed several warm evenings in the quiet secluded garden area which was a bonus. On street Parking was not a problem. Would definitely stay again. One minor addition could be a small wardrobe in the main en-suite bedroom.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, really glad you enjoyed your stay in Sedbergh, you certainly had great weather! Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage is beautifully decorated, the only fault I found was a personal preference, the pillows were both soft, perhaps one of each?"

The water was plentiful but not hot enough for us. The soap/shampoo holder in the en-suite is starting to rust and we left a bowl on the side that someone, not us, had obviously dropped , and cracked. The cottage is delightful and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the towels large and fluffy. We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend

Thank you for your kind comments and I will certainly make a note of your feedback and replace anything that needs it when I am next at the cottage. So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope we will be able to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "What a gorgeous cottage!"

Sitting at night with the fire burning was lovely! The cottage was spotlessly clean and tidy. We are 3 friends who meet up regularly to catch up and this was a perfect opportunity. Everything was clearly laid out in the folder, instructions for everything. We were just about to put the bins out when the lovely neighbour came and put them out. We looked everywhere for the blue ikea bag to put bedding and towels in but we couldn't find it anywhere so we left them on folded on the floor by the door, hope that was OK. Thankyou for such a wonderful stay in your cottage. Lots of memories made :)

Thank you for taking the time to offer your lovely feedback. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay in Sedbergh it sounds like you had a perfect break away, we sincerely hope you will return again in the near future. Apologies for any confusion re. the laundry, I'm sure the housekeepers worked it out, I will mention it to them. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us, and your feedback is most appreciated. About the location

SEDBERGH

Kendal 11.5 miles; Kirkby Lonsdale 11.8 miles, Hawes 15.8 miles.

The attractive old market town of Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), with its old-world atmosphere, is not only set in the magnificent western dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park but is also close to the rugged eastern fells of the Lake District. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has been a thriving community for hundreds of years, with a market dating from the 13th Century. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry-stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners, and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.
