The friendly welcome, nothing they haven’t thought of in the pods, waking up to complete silence other than birds chirping and cows mooing, the brewery five mins away, great location for exploring the coast or the lakes, just the most perfect few days, going home so relaxed. This Yorkshire couple is sold on Lancashire! Can’t wait to book again!

  • "We loved our stay in Lapwing Lodge."

Diane met us on arrival and couldnt have been more welcoming or helpful. Loved that we had our own private garden space. We had almost everything we needed. The only thing we felt was lacking was that there weren't really any clear spaces to put your own food. A shelf or 2 would do it. Also outside could benefit from a couple more hooks and even a clothes rack to dry swim costumes or towels. We'd definitely recommend Mill House Farm Pods to friends and family. Thanks Diane and family.

Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We have noted your observations and thank you for your thoughts, however, due to the curved design of the pod, shelves inside would be difficult to install. Food is normally stored in the crockery cupboard or the full sized fridge (with freezer compartment) or on the shelf under the breakfast bar . Thinking about the hooks/drying facilities - there are 2 hooks provided for this purpose but we can easily install more. Thank you once again and it was lovely to meet you both. Property Owner

  • "Had an amazing few days here, were well looked after from the start by Diane, who runs this little gem on their family farm."

We were blessed with the weather, but for me it was pucture perfect.. the sort of perfection you'd expect in a film, peaceful, exceptionally beautiful settling. The pod itself isn't far from the beach and it's well worth going there to watch the sun set.. it's a vast space and no one seems to know about it. The site itself is well located as its only a 20 minute drive through some lovely countryside to several Lancashire tourist places. Including an amazing desert place that do huge cakes and make their own ice cream on site.. seriously gorgeous. Came home feeling exceptionally rested, didn't really want to leave. Could have watched the goats from our very own hot tub for another week. Its exceptionally clean and hats off to Diane.. amazing set up, did her very best to make sure we had everything we needed, but not at all imposing and let us enjoy our break. Thank you.

It wasn’t a problem for us and obviously the design of the lodges is such that you have plenty of privacy anyway. But some guests may take issue on arrival if they are expecting to be more totally isolated. Thank you :) x

Thank you to our hosts for the drinks they left us behind the bar. Struggled to use the cooking hobs, not used to touch screen ones so would recommend some instructions within the booklet. Bed was really comfy, shower was warm and powerful. Seating area outside was nice and tidy. The local brewery close by was a nice venue for a couple of drinks. Would recommend.

About the location

Morecambe 3 miles; Windermere 30 miles; Blackpool 37 miles.

The historic city of Lancaster sits on edge of Morecambe Bay, with the River Lune flowing through its centre. Lancaster retains many excellent examples of handsome Georgian architecture, and with its captivating medieval castle, Ashton Memorial, and four museums, it’s an interesting place for those in search of history and tales of the past. Among the many amenities, there are two venues for live performances, the Lancaster Grand Theatre and the Dukes, as well as open-air concerts held frequently in the pretty Williamson Park during the summer season. The Forest of Bowland and The Arnside & Silverdale Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty provide visitors with lots of opportunities to take in the flora and fauna of the area, with wonderful walking and cycling ways to enjoy.
