We had a large family gathering ranging from ages 1-71 and it was a perfect place to be together. The house and spa area were incredible. We enjoyed walks and hill runs directly from the house, the views were out of this world. A wonderful place to escape to and the welcome hamper was such a lovely touch. Thank you again. .

Pictures don’t really do it justice. Very spacious lots of room. We were a big group but we weren’t stepping on each other’s toes. The pool and Hot tub was great too. The only suggestion I’ll make is to have a tutorial with the owners on how to operate the steam room and sauna. We didn't know how to work it. Owners also had a maintenance man which was helpful. Would defo book again

Thank you very much for your fantastic feedback. Great to hear you all enjoyed your stay. In regards to the Instructions for the steam room & sauna. These are clearly set out in the guest information book. But thank you for your suggestion. It would be fantastic if you where to book High fellside Hall in the future. Property Owner

  • "Wow - what an absolutely stunning House - the photos really don't do it justice !"

!!! We rented the House for a BIG girly weekend to celebrate my 50th Birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. We spent the full weekend at the House and it was fabulously equipped to fully cater for the Group throughout the weekend - cooked breakfasts, Afternoon Tea (cake stands and Tea Set are fab), full Roast Dinner with a plentiful supply of pans, dishware, other crockery & the all important Wine glasses, and fabulous Gin glasses for our Gin Bar :) The Wine Fridge is extremely useful as well as the extra fridge in the Utility room. The 2 Dishwashers meant we easily kept on top of the clearing up with very little effort. The Leisure facility is of a Luxury Hotel Standard, the Pool is amazing, and most of the weekend was spent there relaxing and chatting - there's a fab selection of Pool toys, and a stack of plastic glasses to enjoy a drink on the loungers, with views across the countryside :) The large lunge comfortable accomodates the group and the snug lounge is cute for a cosier conversation :) The Dining Room made a fab Bingo Hall, and is a lovely area for a relaxed meal and after dinner conversation. The decor is fabulous throughout, and the Beds really comfy, even the 'occasional ones'. The Sound System lets you connect from your phone and play Music throughout the House, including the Pool. It's obvious a lot of thought and effort has been put into the facilities for the House, and it totally works - it ticked all of our boxes and more :) We will definitely be back, just hope we don't have to wait until my 60th Birthday :)

High Fellside Hall far exceeded all my expectations. The Hall had everything we could have wished for in a party home, well equipped, modern, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished. The pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi were the icing on the cake, I didn't want to go home. The surrounding countryside is stunning. The only thing I would like to add is it would have been helpful to have a sign with the Hall name on at the end of the lane. I would definitely recommend it and I am sure I will be back.

  • "This was the best house out our family has been to since we started having large family holidays about 20 years ago."

The pool was outstanding. We usually find that the kitchens do not provide all the equipment we need for cooking. We need to have most meals in the house, as eating out all week for 14 proves too expensive. This house had all we required. The large lounge meant that some of our group could watch television, some play a game and some could play the piano! The only downside was that there was nowhere to play outside games like rounders. It would have been nice to have had a table tennis table. The noise from the farmers’ quad bikes was annoying before 8am in the morning and I think it should have been mentioned that there was building work going on adjacent to the house. However, we would definitely like to return sometime in the future.

Brilliant location. Ideal for large family parties. Only issue is the access in winter. Steep narrow road to property with water running across the road which freezes in winter. 4x4 no problem but we had a car which couldn't get up and required 3 people to push it out of the ditch. Owners very helpful resolving the situation and had the road gritted. Frozen over again by the next morning but it was -4C. Needs care but you need to be aware.

About the location

SEDBERGH

Kendal 12 miles; Hawes 15 miles.

Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), set at the foot of the dramatic and wild Howgill Fells, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale. Sedbergh is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has an olde worlde atmosphere. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.
