“Wonderful cottage very well renovated and altered a few years ago, very warm and cosy and very well equipped in a fairly remote part of Swaledale, but only a few miles from Reeth and Muker and a mile from Gunnerside.”

Wonderful scenery and wildlife and plenty of walks within easy reach. Friendly ducks from the adjoining property were regular daily visitors. Looking forward to a return visit. Babs and Ken, East Yorkshire.

About the location

GUNNERSIDE

Reeth 6 miles; Richmond 15 miles.

Situated in the heart of Swaledale, Gunnerside is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales National Park.

Something of a sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows, pastures and fells, with the pretty Gunnerside Beck running through the village centre before joining the glorious River Swale on the village outskirts.

Amongst the cluster of old stone houses there is Ghyllfoot Tea Room and the village pub serves good food at lunchtime and in the evening.

The market towns of Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Barnard Castle are all within 15 miles making Gunnerside a scenic and central base from which to tour the Dales..
