"There is no WiFi as advertised!"
Only a very weak network coming from the owner's house and can't be seen unless you're on a particular point of the cottage. the wifi password was incorrect and the owner couldn't give any help with that.
I lost a few business Opportunities because of that and wouldn't go if I knew about that previously, especially since there is no mobile signal at all at this place.
Everything else was perfect, cleanliness, facilities, decoration and vintage details and even a Christmas tree and some chocolates ❤️. Amazingly, the cottage was equipped with everything needed for a family stay from kitchen gadgets to family games.
I would give it 5 stars for sure if there was a WiFi network as advertised.

"A wonderful week in a beautiful cottage surrounded by stunning scenery."
We even had snow! The track to the cottage is not for the faint hearted, especially in the dark/ice but well worth it. The hosts are so welcoming, with milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and chocolate cake on the side, and even a Christmas tree and lights to make our stay so special. Lynn and Robert live in the attached house and are there if needed but otherwise keep a low profile. We love the area and this is the perfect base for Weardale and the Lakes. Thank you!!

"Brilliant week away in a stunning location."
Area new to us and didn’t disappoint with a range of places to visit. The cosy cottage was a lovely place to return to each late afternoon and provided the quiet location we were looking for.
The hosts next door were very friendly but not intrusive, just right!
Will definitely return.

"We were looking for a cottage with remote beauty and Beckelshele delivered this in spades!"
We had a wonderful time seeing the local sites, walking the hillsides and along the rivers and even just sitting by the upstairs window taking in the views with a glass of wine (the photos don't do the views justice). Add to this the fact that the property was spotlessly clean and the property owners couldn't have been nicer! In fact there was even milk in the fridge and an M&S chocolate cake waiting for us when we arrived. As our holiday there was winding down we actually checked availability to extend our stay by another week, but unfortunately they were fully booked for the next few weeks (which really came as no surprise to us).
If you're looking for a break with stunning, stark landscapes and an escape from the constant bombardment of phone calls, emails, texts and social media (mobile reception is patchy at best and you typically have to catch up on your news where the driveway meets the main road across the hillside) then look no further. We can't wait to go back!

"The cottage was excellent , and was extremely clean and comfortable ."
We found this a good base for visiting the Lake District , Newcastle ,and the surrounding area which is beautiful .
We feel that the photograph advertising the cottage does not do it justice as it is set in beautiful country side and is quite and remote .

"Amazing holiday here!"
The photos really don't do it justice. Gorgeous views all around, lovely and peaceful and remote. So clean, comfy, toasty warm and homely. Comfy beds. Very dog friendly place (owners have a dog so they were very welcoming of our dog). The owners, who live next door, are really friendly and helpful, greeting us on arrival, but then leave you to get on and enjoy your holiday. Thoughtful welcome gifts of box of biscuits, milk in fridge etc. Upstairs spacious lounge makes the most of the incredible views and the sunrise through the big window is stunning. Walks straight from the door, or short drive and you're across the border into Cumbria or Northumberland. If you like peace and quiet, snuggly remote cottage, and amazing views this is for you. A real get away from it all haven. If wifi is your thing you'll not get that here, not a problem for us, as we were able to access data on our phones in lounge by window and garden to check messages if needed :) Lovely lovely peaceful holiday and great walks. Totally recommend this cottage and so glad we took a chance on it. You should too! :)

House was lovely and cosy. I don’t think it should be advertised as having wifi though. We were unable to get online at all. Only a minor problem.

"Beckelshele is a perfect cottage for a peaceful break in amongst our wonderful countryside."
Lynne and Rob are excellent hosts and were there to meet us on arrival. The cottage is comfortable, warm and with all the facilities you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge upstairs has outstanding views. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and the bathrooms clean, warm and plenty of hot water. The location is ideal for walking and visiting local attractions and the wildlife and farm animals are an added entertainment! We highly recommend this property and will be returning in the not too distant future.

"The lack of wifi and mobile signal could be more clearly explained; I was happy to work around and enjoyed the peace and quiet - our children were less happy!"
Vehicle access to the property is challenging - I was happy but others might not be, so again, a clearer explanation could help.
Make more of the quiet surroundings in the listing - this aspect exceeded my expectations, also the little dog-secure yard and back garden was great to let them out :)
Cosy, warm and characterful - great little place - a proper get away.
