  • "Had a great weekend."

The Lodge is slightly elevated with nothing behind it, so peaceful when the "ladies" singing in the hot tub opposite eventually became quiet ! Would recommend if you have a well behaved dog (which we have) as the decking is secure. B&D and Yen

We turned it on and in less than a minute the place filled with smoke and set the alarm off. Not faulty, just needs a deep clean. We decided to eat at the Welcome lodge. Had two meals there cos we decided not to judge just on one. Both inedible. The burger was so hard, I couldn't get a fork into it. It was like a rock. Chips had a weird taste. Just awful. As I said, the lodge itself was great.

A great location inbetween Ambleside & Windermere. The lodge is great, lovely, cosy and clean with everything we needed. Dog friendly and in a quiet location within the park, backing on to small woodland rather than being surrounded on all sides by other lodges which was great for my 2 nervous rescue dogs. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough! We loved our stay.

  • "The lodge seemed to be in a good place however when we arrived the lodge did have a funny smell and it didn’t seem 100% clean - pet hair everywhere and just needed a good vacuum, draining board area was dirty."

The main bedroom also has damp, the curtains are full of damp spots so could do with a clean. It might be worth noting too to future tenants that the WiFi is truly non existent however this is the responsibility of the park not the lodge owner, there is however WiFi in the main reception bar area. Overall the lodge is in a good location for travelling to different places and we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Acorn Lodge. We sorry to hear of the issues that you encountered with the lodge, we were unaware of these issues had we been made aware during your stay, we would have attended the property to look into these issues. We will ask our housekeeping team to look into these issues and ensure that our high standards are maintained. WIFI at Acorn Lodge is the responsibility of White Cross Bay. We hope to welcome you back to the Lake District again. Update 09.11.2022. Work has recently been carried out to upgrade the Wi-Fi service on White Cross Bay. The signal should now be much improved. • "The lodge wasn’t really very clean the kitchen blinds looked like they had never been cleaned since being put up."

It felt a little sparse inside a picture on the wall or something to make it feel a little homely. One of the gas rings wouldn’t work. There was no WiFi on the park at all unless you were stood at reception after the email saying there was park WiFi that reaches the lodge (and have used before) in this day and age this shouldn’t be an issue. Having stayed at pony meadow 8 and no issues at all this was very disappointing especially for my teenagers!! Maybe we have just been spoilt staying in number 8, this lodge just felt a little lacking in a number of areas. Although the beds were very comfy and clean. Just feel it could do with a deep clean and making a bit more homely.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear the lodge was not quite right for you and we thank you for the issues you have raised. Your comments have been passed to our Housekeeping and Maintenance teams who will look into what you have said. The owner has also taken you recommendation of adjusting the lodge slightly to make it more homely into account and when they next visit, they will be looking into this. The wifi unfortunately is outside of our control as it is supplied by the park, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. We do hope you will return in the future to see we do act on the feedback we receive and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Lovely lodge on Pony Meadow, nice quiet position."

Comfy bed/sofa. All in all very nice modern , well equipped lodge. A few negatives : En suite Shower door very unsafe…left door kept coming off the bottom runners and hence doors did not fully close together. Water able to spray onto floor…bit of a nuisance. And shower head had very little pressure ! Needs some attention. WiFi was rubbish or non existent in lodge and needs addressing with site owners(Park Dean)..essential for some people who need to work/need contact even when away. This situation has gone on for all the years we have been coming.!!☹️ And a parasol for outside would have been great ,as it was quite warm some days and had to hide inside for shade. All in all though, still a lovely relaxed stay…

Many thanks for your valued feedback, we very much appreciate you taking the time to complete and submit this to us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the lodge and its peaceful position on the park. We are so pleased that you enjoyed a lovely, relaxed stay. It is regrettable that you experienced some negatives during your time in the lodge and we thank you for bringing these to our attention. We will investigate the maintenance issues and ensure that the areas of concern are rectified as soon as possible. The Wi-Fi is, unfortunately, a park issue and not our responsibility. We do, however, appreciate how frustrating this can be and feedback in this regard is also useful as we are constantly look at ways of improving all aspects of our guest experience. Thank you for the suggestion of providing a parasol for warmer days, we will certainly look into the possibility of installing one of these. We do hope that you will visit again and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

The lodge itself is extremely cosy and comfortable with a fabulous sofa seating area. The beds were very comfy and the lodge was lovely and warm with a very well equipped kitchen. The location is superb with easy access to all the key locations around Windermere. We have two children and two dogs and we had a super time exploring and so many amazing dog friendly pubs and cafes. We had the wettest week of the year probably in the Lakes but it didn't dampen our enjoyment. The facilities at the Park are very good..., we went swimming, the children played in the arcade and we had a drink in the bar with our doggies. Thank you, we would definitely come and stay again.
