We had a lovely stay in the cottage, location was very peaceful and quiet and a great base for exploring the area.

Fabulous local dog friendly walk from the doorstep through the wood to the beach at Powfoot and back, our dog loved it as did we. Cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and the garden was fabulous, especially the summerhouse and swing seat! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

My wife and I stayed at 7 Cummertrees with our two dogs for a week in July 2026 and were wholly impressed with the property and the location.

Let me say that we are often disappointed with the facilities encountered in rental properties. Not so with this cottage. The owners use the cottage themselves as a holiday base and it shows! The kitchen affords you the opportunity to create magical meals simply because the utensils provided are of top quality and the range of utensils available means you will be challenged to find cause for complaint. If you are really fussy bring your favourite knives, other than that cast concerns aside. The cottage itself is far bigger than the photographs lead you to believe. It is spacious and easily accommodates four adults and a couple of hoonds. Once again the appointment of the accommodation reflects the owners love of the property. Some reviews criticise the mattresses as being too hard. Hey, I’m 72 and come in at nearly 19 stone whilst my wife is 66 and around 13 stone. We slept perfectly well and left with no complaints about the mattresses, nor indeed the quality of the bedding. Another nod to the fact the owners spend time here. The garden. It is absolutely beautifully planted out and remains work in progress to enhance the enjoyment of your stay. If you have dogs you will love this aspect of the property. If you don’t, you will equally enjoy the massive garden and the surprise summerhouse at your disposal. We stayed during a particularly hot week during which there was no rainfall and some of the more tender plantings showed signs of heat and drought distress. Please help out your hosts and do some watering while wandering about in the evening. The garden is there for all of us to enjoy and if you can add to the joy of those who visit after you, you contribute to the enjoyment of all who holiday here. Just a thought. Annan. It’s about an eight minute drive away and quite frankly you’ll get anything you need here as Tesco and Aldi have decided to put in a presence. Judi was an absolute delight to deal with. An ebullient personality I really enjoyed spending time speaking to. Book this cottage. It is fantastic.

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage and the garden was also absolutely lovely, we spent a lot of time sitting out there enjoying the variety of birds visiting and also the occasional rabbit.

The kitchen was very well equipped with almost everything you could need. The only thing for us that was a downside was the bed which was too firm and caused some problems sleeping. Also the bedroom window could do with a blackout blind as light was streaming in from around 4am each morning. As other guests have noted some form of blind or film covering is needed to the front door for privacy purposes.

As previous visits everything was lovely and we all including our dog Mabel, who loves the garden.

We were joined by friends who also love no 7. Hope to return and thank you to those that clean and prepare the property, a good job is appreciated.

This is our 5th visit one which we look forward to.

It is a pleasure to stay there every comfort you could wish for, a lovely cottage with great garden for Barney my Golden Retriever to play in lovely walks near by. We will be booking for February next year for our annual visit and hopefully for later this year. Once again thank you to Bob & Judi for allowing us to stay there.

Stayed here a number of times, always been brilliant

First class cottage and good response to queries from owner.

As someone else noted, frosted glass on front door would ensure privacy. Would have liked access to control central heating, especially since we visited during Storm Bram, meaning we couldn't get out and about as much as we'd have liked.

This our fourth visit and as usual everything was perfect, lovely secure garden for my Golden Retriever Barney who now thinks this is second home!

We will be back in February, when I found this property it was the best find ever. The cottage provides everything you need and every one very friendly, lovely walks near by always very relaxing break

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage is warm and comfortable and has all the kitchen equipment etc that you would want. The garden is very pretty and is well maintained. During summer months it would be a lovely place to sit and relax. Close to main A roads so convenient for visiting the castles, gardens, nature reserves and pretty market towns in the region.

What an amazing place, the house was very well accommodated, had everything we needed and was a pleasure to cosy in on a evening.

The garden was amazing! Quite and peaceful, plus our children loved it. From watching the rabbits running around first thing on a morning to looking up at the stars in the evening while the bats were flying. We would highly recommend this house as a beautiful little get away.

Lovely homely little cottage with the most beautiful back garden absolutely stunning and a real selling point.

The only criticisms were we found the double bed too hard but that is just personal preference and the front door had clear glass panels which anyone could see in when walking past, felt uncomfortable visiting the loo in the middle of the night! Maybe some sort of glass film would solve it.

Lovely property.

Clean and well cared for and with a lovely garden. Fits a family or in our case long term friends. Great for dogs too Mabel loves it too.

The garden is fantastic for just sitting in and for the dog . There is a great dog walk by the cottage too so very handy for the early morning walk. Thank you to Judi for phoning and giving us some useful information.

This cottage and garden is the perfect home from home when visiting south west Scotland.

Everything is spotlessly clean.The secure garden with it's seating areas and summerhouse couldn't be better.Direct hourly bus service to Dumfries,Annan,Gretna and Carlisle means you don't need your car.

Bigger than expected with the added bonus of a stunning garden. We were blessed with beautiful weather so we’re able to sit outside and fully enjoy the peace and quiet. The dog enjoyed it too and we could relax as it was fully secure. It was a great base for our holiday thank you

We were absolutely knocked out by 7 Cummertrees.

The photos on the website don't do it justice - it's a very well appointed, extremely comfortable and well equipped cottage, with a fabulous garden. It's in a very good position - close to Annan, which has all the shops and services you might need but within a mile of the beach at Powfoot. I was able to walk our energetic dog on superb walks every day and we loved walking the circular route down through the woods, along the shore and back up to the village. Information and contact from Judi, the owner, was very much appreciated. We hope to return next year!

Beautiful garden which is well enclosed, lovely home with everything you need.

There isn't much going on around in the area so depends what type of break you're looking for but we enjoyed the quiet.

This is my third visit to this lovely cottage a lovely find four years ago I have just booked a further visit.

The garden is lovely a great space for my dog Barney to explore, cottage is well kept and lovely and clean a joy to stay there. Lovely to meet Bob & Judy hope you had safe journey home looking forward to our next visit, hopefully may manage to get a further break in later this year.

The cottage had every thing we needed but found the bed was too hard for us and we struggled to turn the shower on. But enjoyed our stay .

Fantastic cottage with a terrific garden to the rear.

Well situated between Annan and Dumfries and great base to explore the area. The property has everything you need for a short break and is comfortable throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Owner contacted us before arrival to ensure everything was as needed and to offer help/support if needed - lovely touch.

From the outside the cottage looks quite unassuming but on entering it's very spacious with good sized rooms and very light and airy.

Large bathroom with walk in shower. Well equipped kitchen and dining area. Large bedroom and very comfortable double bed. Second bedroom with twin beds and again a good size but not required as there is only 2 of us. The large secure enclosed garden is marvellous for the dog and relaxing in. Annan is close by with good independent shops cafes pubs and supermarkets. Take a steady walk down the lane or through the woods to solway firth. Lots of wildlife. So peaceful and quiet. We never came across a carpark where you had to pay. Amazing. For people who like peace and quiet without being totally isolated I can't recommend it enough. Thank you Brian 7-9-24.

Thank you for kindly ringing us before our stay to see if there was anything that we needed and the recommendation for Nith Hotel which we thought served excellent food - in fact we went twice.

We loved the history of Flora's Cottage and were delighted with the property - it is so well appointed and the garden is a plant persons dream and so well maintained. You have a first class property which you so kindly share with others - thank you for allowing us to experience a stay at such a lovely cottage. Daisy, our Border Terrier, loved her walks to the beach and being able to play in the secure garden.

This was a loverley experience.

The Cottage is beautiful, homely with a most amazing garden. Neither me or my husband are not of good health so it was a delight to be able to relax in such an ideal setting. We were drawn and intreged by the history and character of such a magical place . We would definitely recommend Cummertrees and look forward to going again soon.

We had a wonderful week staying at 7 Cummertrees.

The house was very clean and had everything in place to make our stay comfortable, there wasn't a single thing that would have made the stay better. The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower warm and powerful, the living room settees relaxing and the kitchen very well kitted out to satisfy our every need. The garden at the at the rear of the property is very large and full of roses and flowering shrubs, there has been a lot of work making and maintaining this garden. The summer house was relaxing to sit in after we arrived home from visiting places and walking the dogs. The garage was an extra bonus for storing our bikes. We loved our week here

Cummertrees is a lovely comfortable cottage with everything you need.

Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds and sofas. The garden is amazing and secure for dogs. Belle our jack russell loved running around. The weather wasn't great but it didn't stop us exploring the area

STV player and ITVX on the TV would make for a perfect experience.

Third time staying here with two dogs.The facilities and garden are ideal for a relaxing break.

Garden is magnificent. Great walk in the woods to the beach. Well located to visit the area. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage, quiet and very comfortable.

Also a great garden, so well cared for. It was secure for our two dogs. There are some lovely walks straight form the cottage to Powfoot and the Solway. We had a lovely meal at the Powfoot Hotel (and a few coffees and cakes). Thanks to the owner for ringing us before our stay, it added a personal touch.

Already booked in later this year.

Our only wee gripe is the telly is slow to respond.

Lovely clean comfortable cottage that had everything we needed with the bonus of the secure sunny large garden.

As always the cottage was clean and tidy the only thing that was unpleasant was the weather it was a bit cold and windy wet but other than that it was quite pleasant to stay in doors if we didn't have to go out

Returned for our second visit to this lovely cottage with very secure garden with great summerhouse loved by my Golden Retriever Barney, plenty of lovely walks near by and places to visit.

I highly recommend this cottage and we will be back hopefully later this year and will be booking for Feb 2025.

Spacious, comfortable cottage, very well equipped.

Garden is lovely, even in December. Our 2 dogs enjoyed having such a large garden to play in. Unfortunately log burner was not working, Owner informed before my stay and supplied 2 extra little electric heaters.

Loved every minute of my stay here.

It's a well equipped property, in a quiet village. The garden is stunning and plenty of information is provided about the property and local walking routes, places to visit, where to eat etc. The photos really don't do it justice. After a difficult few months it was just what I needed. Now i'm fully rested and re-energised. All the stargazing I did definitely helped! The friendly and helpful community, made a nice change from the hustle and bustle of most places these days. Perfect location to explore surrounding areas too. I'm looking forward to planning my next visit here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Cummertrees cottage, it felt like home from home.

The location enabled us to travel easily to some lovely places, even though the weather wasn''t ideal. A very comfortable, cosy and well eqipped property, in fact the best we have ever stayed in. The garden was such a haven of peace and quiet and I have to say our sixteen year old four legged companion found a new lease of life within the totally safe environment!

We were really happy with the cottage, it exceeded our expectations and was extremely well equipped.

The garden was an added bonus and we loved the new summerhouse. We hope to rebook again next year.

First, we were struck by the generosity of lots of teabags and variety of teas as well as cooking basics (salt, oil, herbs).

We left loo roll as a thankyou! Everything very clean, comfortable but the garden was the outstanding bonus- enclosed, large, interesting planting, summerhouse, good views from the far end and pleasant seating areas plus a lot of lawn for the dog to bounce around on.

This cottage has everything.

Easy parking outside. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen diner with easy to use appliances. A lovely cosy sitting room. Great bathroom with a powerful shower and an absolutely stunning garden with outside furniture and a summer house. I would throughly recommend this property. In addition there is so much to do nearby

Loved staying at the place, didn't want to leave there, absolutely brilliant place, even the dogs loved it.

And hopefully be back sometime soon.

7 Cummertrees is an excellent place to relax and a central base for exploring the Solway Firth.

The bungalow was spacious and very comfortable including lounge and sleeping area.The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for the week. The outdoor space and garden was amazing. We loved it and so did our dogs! Annan is a good place to food shop and Galabank park is a well worth a visit where there are great woodland and river walks. We enjoyed it so much, we have already booked for next year!

We gave the property 5 stars because it was comfortable, had a wonderful enclosed garden and perfectly placed for a lovely walk through woods to an excellent beach.

In other words ideal if you have a dog. we would certainly use this property again. Just a few minor suggestions only made to add perfect final touches to an excellent holiday cottage, the cooker could have been cleaned, some kitchen drawers wiped, the bin washed out and the hoover emptied as this did create a smell when used .The instruction with regard plumbing could be simplified to just say only put toilet paper down the toilet, all other items to go in the bin provided.

It has a beauriful enclosed garden that is a pleasure to sit in. There are some lovely walks in the area too. We'll be back.

I would recommend anyone to book this cottage from walking in the door it was spotless couldn't of asked for better.

The garden was lovely nice sitting out at 7am with a coffee just watching the wild life and with it been enclosed my 2 dogs could go out and just wonder around granddaughters loved playing on the swing

had to empty hoover and fit new bag,could have done with a mop for kitchen floor as weather was awful but that was just unfortunate but cottage is lovely and would like to come back in warmer times[if possible].

Very peaceful and relaxing and only 5mins away from Annan. Ideal for lovely walks with the dog's. Would highly recommend it and hopefully see you next year.

Really Lovely Cottage much bigger than we expected, the garden is wonderful so spacious our little dog loved it, the two horses which came to the top of garden were lovely one even put his head over and nuzzled the dog adorable, we walked through the woods everyday with the dog and very handy waste bin at entrance for dog waste, in all its an excellent cottage to stay in, just one thing wrong I sorted my waste out for each bin put non recycling in and put it out for collection, then when I sorted the rest out for the other bins both had lots of rubbish in which were non recycling, other than had a lovely holiday.

7 Cummertrees is a lovely, bright, very clean cottage with a beautiful big fully enclosed garden.

It had everything you need for you and your dog . It has a fantastic big shower that gets lovely and hot . There’s woodland walks less than a minutes walk away which take you to the beautiful village of powfoot and the sea . It’s an ideal quiet cottage and a good base for exploring the area.

Outstanding property.

We have rented cottages many times over the years and this is by far the best we have seen with exceptional facilities, garden, location and views.

This was a lovely property and our dogs loved the garden!

The property was nice and clean and was also easy to clean as it had hard floors almost throughout. The area was dark at night and lovely for watching stars!

We loved this cottage and our grandkids particularly loved the garden.

So much space for them to play in at each end of the day. So handy for all the activities we had planned too.

The house feels homely and welcoming, with comfy beds, sofas and excellent shower. The garden especially was beautiful, our dogs loved it. Good walk in the nearby woods and a nice large park in Annan for walking dogs. If I were to make any suggestions to make life a little easier in the house, it would be a soap holder attachment in the shower, a long handled soft brush for the kitchen floor, and a new can opener! Attention is required re shower leaking from inside and making wall damp. That aside, I would definitely recommend a stay at 7 Cummertrees and would love to return some day.

Just came back from a lovely stay at this cottage.

The garden is amazing and me and the dogs spent the majority of our stay enjoying that. Loved that I could walk through the woods and be in Powfoot in twenty minutes. Very comfortable beds and great shower. If I had to have one negative it would be that the sofas were pretty grubby and the cottage overall could do with a little tlc and maybe some new wine glasses.

Fantastic cottage to stay at, we had 2 spaniels with us and they loved the gated garden, keeping them safely in.

Fab location too near enough to the beach and shops.

The garden was beautiful and perfect for our two spaniels who spent the full time outside!

Although the garden was full enclosed, the main gate has a gap at the bottom therefore any smaller dogs may be able to get out underneath.

Have just returned from an Easter Weekend break at this delightful cottage.

We had just what we needed, a 3 night stay of total peace and quiet with lovely walks in the countryside and the beach with our 2 lively Springer Spaniels. The cottage was beautifully presented, very clean and with all you could possibly need and more for your stay. Garden was a delight and although our weather was a little mixed we made full use of it during our stay - our dogs even made friends with the two horses who popped their heads over the fence at the bottom of the garden from their field to say hello.

Lovely and clean and very homely. Everything you need in side and outside. The garden is huge and well kept our dogs just loved it.I met the owners when we arrived very friendly and welcoming. Will definatly be back. Excellent accomodation and all on one level.

This cottage was brilliant very clean and gardens were beautiful.

I am going back in July. Everything was there for me only needed clothes and food highly recommended

My sister and I, with my dog, enjoyed a three night break in 7 Cummertrees at the end of November.

The cottage was very warm and comfortable, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The garden was lovely, particularly when covered with snow on our first morning! The owner recommended lunch in the cafe at the Annandale Distillery Visitors' Centre as it is dog friendly. It is very spacious and clean and the food was very good.

Only problem was the walk in shower as it had a little step to enter and no hand rail.

With me being disabled I found it difficult getting in and out.

The cottage was lovely.

It had everything we needed .The garden was fantastic. The dogs had a fantastic time. Will definitely miss that garden.
