"Wow! We’ve had the most wonderful holiday at Seahaven."
(Myself, Hubby and our 2 grown up children aged 21 & 18 and our border collie) We arrived quite late and were grateful for the welcome cookies and selection of coffee/tea. The accommodation was as described with the added addition of an arcade game. We noticed immediately how dog friendly the accommodation was with the chest of dog beds/blankets towels, bowls, poo bags, tennis balls and even sticky rollers!! We had taken our own doggie essentials but was still very impressed with what was there!
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed apart from a lack of tea towels. The log fire was a really nice addition to cosy up with a hot chocolate after beautiful scenic walks in the damp British weather.
The beds were comfy with plenty of pillows and an extra blanket on top of the duvet but it can get quite chilly so recommend taking slippers, pjs and a warm oodie. (We didn’t find a hairdryer so maybe take one with you)
For rainy days there are books, games and shuffle board although we didn’t make use of these but good to have.
There isn’t a lot in Allonby but it has everything you need, a cafe just a couple of doors away, Jacks surf bar across the road serving very nice fish & chips, burgers and roast dinners, a convenience store with nice ice-creams and the beach a 30 second walk away.
Our collie is a very nervous dog so we wanted somewhere quiet, where we could let him off the lead for a run and not have to worry about other dogs and people approaching him and this was just perfect for him. Hardly saw another sole and when we did they were very considerate.
We visited the aquarium with crazy golf and a nice cafe a couple of times, went for walks in the Lake District, shopping in Keswick (very nice cafe called No monkey business, if you like Trip drinks, zero alcohol and healthy teas, the French toast with strawberries, Nutella & cream was Devine and mucho mango cocktail with hot honey has a fiery kick to it)
Would 100% recommend, especially if you have a dog.
We are so pleased your family and four legged friend had such a good holiday staying at Seahaven. Thank you for your lovely feedback and you are more than welcome to come back anytime.

"Cottage was perfect for us 4 adults and 2 dogs."
We were very impressed when we arrived at the cottage. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.
Our young adult children were staying and it was great for them to have their own private bedrooms and space to relax on the upper floor.
We were spoiled with the en suite bathrooms and beautiful roll top bath in the downstairs bathroom. The cottage was extremely well equipped and had great provisions for our dogs. I noticed there were lots of thoughtful extras if you had younger children staying too.
The courtyard outside the cottage is enclosed and nice for a morning coffee (very private).
The location is just perfect, 2 minutes to the beautiful long sandy beach, mostly quiet and a lovely spot to watch the sunset.
Lots of other nice villages and towns to visit nearby.
You can tell that the hosts of this cottage have put a lot of thought into making a stay enjoyable and relaxing. Any written communication in the cottage was cheerful and encouraged you to have as nice a time as possible which was really nice. Would definitely return!
Thank you so much for your lovely, positive feedback. We are so pleased you all enjoyed your stay. We would love to have you back and you are more than welcome to return anytime.

"Beautiful accommodation in a lovely location."
Travelled with my two boys, 9 and 16 and our 6 month old maltipoo Patti.
Patti was more than happy and so comfortable with her first time away from home.
16 year old loved having his own floor to himself, games room kept them both busy in-between beach walks and trips out.
Local cafe and pub very welcoming with great food, the boys were impressed with the Milkshakes from moodycow.
Would highly recommend and would definitely rebook!
Thank you for a lovely stay.

"We had a wonderful stay at Seahaven, with 5 adults and 2 dogs - thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!"
The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, with plenty of extra bedding if we got a bit chilly, and the kitchen was well stocked with good quality cookware. Our only points for improvement here were that the can opener was broken, there was no vegetable peeler, and the master bathroom toilet seemed to have a leak.
The location was ideal with the beach being literally 150m from the house, and the pub being 400m. We weren't too far from Keswick, Cockermouth, and very close to Maryport, and Scafell Pike was within a reasonable driving distance for a day trip.
The WIFI was exceptional, even on the 3rd floor with an excellent space so that I could still work whilst away, and the games provided were very much enjoyed and appreciated.
Cleanliness was very good, although appeared to be rushed as the cleaner was still packing up when we arrived just after our check-in time. The floors were already gritty and sandy when we arrived, with our socks being black underfoot within 30 minutes, so this could do with more attention to detail ahead of guests' arrival.
We would definitely be back to Seahaven and truly loved our break, so thank you again so much!
Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have replaced the can opener and vegetable peeler and thank you for making us aware of this. We look forward to having you back again soon!

"We had a pleasant week at Christmas, three adults and a dog."
Lovely cosy cottage, right next to the beach. My adult son loved having his own floor to himself and we played shuffle board which requires some skill but we loved it. Just a note for the owner to have some utensils for the fire would be helpful. Allonby is a lovely friendly village - supermarkets within a 15min drive. We had a Tesco delivery on the day we arrived so ideal.
Thank you for your lovely comments and we are pleased you had a good Christmas. Thank you for making us aware about the fire utensils which are now in place. You are welcome to stay at Seahaven again any time.

"A 5 star 'home from home' coastal retreat for the price I paid."
A cosy quirky layout with great outdoor space for my little Jack Russell to roam before walking for miles along the wonderful 'England coastal path' Allonby is a beautiful place and the local people are so friendly. Supermarkets if required are only a 10 minute drive away. Highly recommend 'Seahaven' for a break away from the 'busy'. The perfect getaway from it all destination. Thankyou
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you and your dog enjoyed yourselves and we hope to have you stay again in the future.

"From the moment we walked in we could see the property was very clean and very well equipment, the welcome pack on the tea tray is excellent."
All the cleaning products under the sink and supply the dishwasher and washing machine capsules is an added bonus. I'm been very picky saying this, but my grandsons toys occasionally went under the sofa and I noticed they could do with being moved occasionally. As I said I'm being picky and the owner would probably rather know. We will definitely be back and would recommend the property.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back again.

"Seahaven is a lovely house, tastefully decorated and well appointed."
The added bonus of a games room/chill out room was a hit with the children.
Fab location, a stones throw from the beach.
A few niggles:
No access to a hoover and mop (we did raise this with Sykes’ but no reply) to keep on top of the sand brought back from the beach and also other guests dog hair (see below).
Cleanliness in some areas could have been improved:
Skirting boards hadn’t been wiped, cobwebs and spiders a plenty.
Whilst we appreciate dogs being allowed in the property, we didn’t expect to have to clean up clumps of other guests dog hair. This was in both the living room and kitchen and lasted for a few days. There was also evidence of dog hairs on the sofas.
A spare bin bag or 2 would have been handy especially with large families.
Thank for staying with us and for your feedback. Cleanliness is important to us and we have passed your feedback to our cleaners. There should have been a dustpan and brush along with a spare bin bag under the kitchen sink, as well as a mop and bucket and a sweeping brush located in the Log Shed. Apologies if was not the case and we will address accordingly. Thank you and glad the children enjoyed the games/chill out room.

Brilliant sunsets from the top floor den. We were informed in person when we arrived of a problem with lights . The temporary fix was entirely satisfactory and did not spoil the holiday. Beach was perfect for the dogs.

"Lovely property beautifully refurbished and decorated."
Master bedroom with ensuite was perfect. Lovely shower. Only problem we had was the kettle needs looking at as every time we used it it tripped the switch in the consumer unit for the upstairs first floor lights which were off when we arrived the first night until we realised what was wrong. Kettle had been PpAT tested in February but definitely not right. Note left at side of kettle before we left so hopefully this has been sorted. Otherwise a perfect stay. Would definitely recommend and would go there again.
Thank you for the lovely feedback. Apologies for the inconvenience of the kettle and thank you for letting us know as we were unaware of this. The electrician has identified the issue and we have put a temporary solution in place in the interim. We look forward to having you back in the future.

"We had a lovely stay, nice to be in a quieter part of the county, but everything we wanted to do was still easily accessible."
Enjoyed being by the sea. Loved star gazing out of the attic too. Kitchen well equiped and heating nice and warm. Outside bins were overflowing on our arrival but, this was quickly attended to when we reported it. Other suggestions would be larger bath towels , chair in bedrooms, hanging space and full length mirror in attic bedroom. Overall really really enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Thank you for your lovely comments and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have managed to relocate the bins to make it easier for collection. We are looking forward to you staying at Seahaven again soon.

"Lovely holiday let, clearly thought, time, and effort has been put in to make Seahaven a pleasurable home from home."
A couple of maintenance needs that cropped up during our stay which could be quick fixes:
- the first floor master double metal bed frame creaks with any slight move...slightly off putting for light sleepers! Needs tightenening or repositioning slightly
- the toilet flush in the master bedroom ensuite sticks regularly when flushed. We had to take the cistern top off regularly to manually stop the flushing
- the back gate lock does not keep the back gate shut when windy and it flys open with speed, force and real noise! We kept it shut and locked when in, but did worry about it crashing loudly when we were out, as it would be bothering neighbours and potentially come off it's hinges
There was no welcome items on arrival other than some packet teas, coffees, salt and sugar etc. We have obviously been spoilt at recent other stays where a basket of local small items have been left for us to enjoy such as local biscuits, fresh milk, local jams - even a chilled bottle of prosecco ln arrival. A lovely touch which then made us support local and purchase from the local suppliers from the basket. (shop and support local)
- No Netflix or YouTube on the upstairs TV only terrestrial channels
Nothing can be done that Seahaven is nestled between sea facing and village facing terraces, so it certainly has no room with a view. But the close proximity to the park and the sea is hard to beat, despite not being able to actually see them! It also feels extremely private and not overlooked
Lastly, then frustration I had trying to extend our stay by one night had put a negative feel to our stay even before we got there. It was frustrating that I had requested an extra night extension to our holiday but the booking system on Sykes Holiday meant this just did not happen. I didn't get a call back to 'extend', instead I was asked to pay an additional charge to 'amend' - all I wanted to do was add an extra night where I could see there was availability but this proved impossible to do. We won't be using Sykes again, so to the owners of the property, we would have liked another day stay at your property, but unfortunately the automated system of Sykes booking meant this wasn't to be!
To the owners, thanks for making Seahaven warm, accommodating and an enjoyable stay for all the family.

"Absolutely delightful little cottage with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay by the sea which is practically on the door step."
The only thing I feel could make it better would be blinds in the top bedroom and another lamp in the lounge area though the lack of these would not deter me from going again.
Thank you for your feedback and so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are in the process of fitting blinds in the top bedroom now so thank you for pointing that out and hope to have you back soon.
