"A new property but really spacious for a small lodge."
It uses the space and storage well. Great views over Longlands Fell. You can hear all the birds, sheep, and nearby stream which makes it a great place to switch off and watch the world. Within 30 mins of Keswick and 45 mins of Buttermere so perfect location for exploring hikes in the north. I will definitely be back!

"On arrival we read the welcome package ."
Felt it wasn't very dog friendly with the request to hoover on departure to remove any dog hair , which there was no hoover . My partner used one of our towels to clean all floors before departure. Sadly hot tub which we were looking forward to using hence why we booked, we weren't able to use in our 3 day stay. Firstly we had to fill it up, (instructions keft regarding the hot tub )with stone cold water from outside tap,the wood left which stated was enough for one night in the tub .. it was not even luke warm ,so first night wasted on heating a tub and running out of wood . 2nd night brought more wood and still not able to get it to a temperature that was suitable to get into ,our neighbours never used there's either due to same problem. It states to empty the tub , which meant emptying on the night before we left to ensure it was fully empty , as check out at 10am. Very dissappointed. Wasted money biting more wood in the hope to use the hot tub, and never Front door was a job to open and close and draft came through, first night very windy and could feel the draft . Shower leaks, used our own towels to prevent any water damage. Radiator in bathroom be very careful myself and partner burnt ourselves twice in there , very close to coming in and out of the shower . Bathroom door didn't close so whole time using bathroom had to leave door open . Bedroom had to crawl in and out of bed as not able to stand up . Mattress very thin and not a good night sleep. Also requested to remove all bed linen on departure ( which we always do ) however its requested do so, to help their cleaners out ,bedding to placed in a bag . Stairs one foot wrong in the night ,you could slip through and end up up in the living room the gap is very big and I'd be worried if children were sleeping up there, leave a light on so able to see. Views of a hill , which hikers use so busy with cars and vans first thing in the morning . The other log cabin is much closer than it looks in photos . It was not up to our expectations, most tubs have been heated in arrival, Looks lovely, not for us
Hello, we are deeply sorry to hear you did not have the experience we aim to provide at our property! Our pet charge covers the cost of our cleaners carrying out all hoovering meaning guests do not need to hoover up, we apologise if this was not clearly communicated with you! We provide a complimentary bag of logs & kindling for each stay to allow the hot tub to be lit and will stay warm for several hours if used properly. We only ask the hot tub to be drained upon departure and can be done right before you leave as it would be drained by the time we complete our changeover clean. We are very sorry to hear about the shower and the bathroom door, these will be investigated upon our next changeover to ensure any issues are rectified! Our main bedroom is a mezzanine floor which is designed to utilise space and does mean you cannot fully stand up in, however we find this to be cosy and part of the character of the cabin! We do also provide a sofa bed which can be used for those who do not find the mezzanine bedroom suitable. We are lucky enough to be sited directly opposite a number of local wainwrights which does mean it is a popular area for those who wish to experience what the Lake District has to offer! Once again we are very sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy what we have to offer. Property Owner

Where you’ll be staying
CALDBECK
Wigton 7.5 miles; Carlisle 12 miles; Keswick 16 miles; Cockermouth 17 miles.
The charming Cumbrian village of Caldbeck is situated on the northern fringes of the Lake District National Park and is surrounded by beautiful moorland and fells. It’s a classic stone built village with a church, pub, village green and duck pond. The church dates back to the 12th century and is famous for being the resting place of the renowned huntsman John Peel. Although in every sense a ‘traditional working village’, the local craft centre at Priest Mill and the riverside walks to the Howk gorge, draw visitors to Caldbeck. The village is an ideal base for the northern Lakes, the market town of Keswick, as well as Lakes Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. The natural beauty of the Solway coast, well-known for its golf courses and the town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth are close by, whilst also within driving distance is the cathedral city of Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.
Please note: There is a good housekeeping bond of £150.
